The mechanics in these games were so, so good. Spyro 1 and 2 are pretty timeless because of it. 3 tried too many new things that have been massively improved upon over the years.

Naughty Dog aren't the team they once were. InFamous guys could do it but would they want to? There's a circle of AA teams like Sanzaru. But that wouldn't excite people.

Sanzaru isn't working on Sly because they have Crash would make me explode.

Although for someone reason people disagree - I thought Sly 4 was utterly great.

I don't think The Order is going to dissapoint. That demo was such a tiny slice of the game , and an early build, that it's very difficult to judge. The game will be an experience. Slow exploration areas, action sequences, storyline. I'm not going into it expecting a third person shooter. I'm expecting something more along the lines of RE4 or Eternal Darkness. Maybe I'm wrong about that. Maybe the game devolves into a repetitive shoot fest , which would be a shame.

There are definitely slower sections like that in the game.

Shinobi. Can you tell us anything about the atmosphere of the game?

What we have seen shows somber locations and it does get very dark at times. I want tension and a very heavy atmosphere not unlike the Dead Space series. I know it's not a horror game but the setting and the werewolves and creatures featured in the game lend themselves greatly to precisely that.

Well, I don't know every single thing about it (and personally I don't want to, still like some surprises), but from what I do know there is a very deliberate mix of intense action and slower, dank sections which, like you said, exude a very heavy atmosphere. And like you said, don't expect a horror experience, but there are definitely slower sections in which you're only soaking in the suspenseful atmosphere. Think like some slower sequences in TLOU.
