sorry mickey, when the wife cooks i have to leave on time! i could have played all night, seriously great matches. your wario has the edge over my doc mario i reckon, but i held my own on the randoms! ultimate troll match for the last game haha.

also, i got an amiibo, not a bad training buddy offline, that thing is evil. beats me in stock battle 70% of the time :(
It's fine, I was starting to get frustrated at myself anyways for not pocketing those fully-charged Samus projectiles on reaction. Still struggling with basic movement / positioning.

My god, these commentators are chill.

Here you go, Peach players:

I wish they uppered Charizard a bit. I love the character but he is absolutely useless in battle. His Brawl counterpart was much better.

Joke post? Because Zard is awesome. I've had incompetent Link's run off the stage to their deaths in fear of a Gale Boomerang riding Flamethrowing Dragon.

Thanks for the Heat Wave strategy Karsticles. ^_^

------------

Peach Vid was using Rage anyway.

Zard's issue is lack of a good neutral game, his only safe option is Nair -- everything else is unreliable to challenge other characters, especially projectile/zoner characters like ROB, Robin, Duck Hunt, etc. etc.

I enjoy playing the character from time to time but he has major problems in neutral where neutral is going to be the most common part of a given match to crop up.

Charizard suffers the same problems Bowser does and therefore has to rely on punishing for mistakes.

Play your cards right with your specials and you can be tanking damage to over 250%. Especially with Pivot Rock Smash.

Because RS, FB, and Fly all have Super Armor. Fly only has it on startup.

I really like doing Classic mode but I really don't like fighting Master/Crazy Hand. And I am not nearly good enough to crank the difficulty up.

And I am never going to get 100% during the credits.

Is it not possible to play For Fun with a local co-op partner + randoms? I saw "One Player/Two Player" was only in the "For Friends" section instead of "Anyone".

I've played lots of With Anyone matches with my nephew in 2vs2.

I am seeing an Olimar/Alph kicking ass in this tourney.

Proving once and for all, no character is truly bad.

I hope

Edit: He lost, but still, ass-kicking.

So far to me no one looks bad. I remember early years of Brawl Olimar was over looked. Flash forward to today and he is an absolute monster and I saw him coming a mile away.

So far it seems like any character can wreck the world in the right hands and at the very least not be an absolute loser like Captain Falcon or Ganondorf in Brawl. Every Character can reliably kill now and that has made a world of difference.

God remember Link and Toon Link in Brawl? Toon Link's smashes would send you flying and they would come out faster than Link's! I don't know what the EF Sakurai was smoking back then.

I still wished I had 6 pikmin tho, I miss Olimar brawl :p

As a Brawl Olimar main, his Smash Attack lag and reduced distance always throw me off. I'm slowly getting the hang of this new Olimar, but it's difficult.

I'm surprised it took this long for most of the Zelda characters to get good.

It is not, unfortunately. I'm also disappointed in the lack of Epic Yarn music.

Wow... Just wow. You know, I have to say that the soundtrack has been the opposite of Brawl's. While the quality of mixes are really good, the variety is abysmal; whereas I felt the opposite was true the game before. I really REALLY hope there are downloadable music packs in the future.

Do you guys voice chat when you play each other?

Everytime I play with someone here I talk into the mic but have not once gotten a response. I just assume everyone forgets about it.

Has anyone else noticed how weak Giga Bowser is? It's like Brawl Giga Bowser. No killing power what so ever. You think oh I'm so big, free smashes all around! They connect and send the enemies no where!

What's the best way to deal with links or shulks. I usually play as wii fit or pacman but matchups against those two never seem to go in my favor.

I play Link, Wii Fit Trainer, and Pac-Man. Best thing you can do against Link in my opinion is to keep your distance and power-shield arrows/projectiles. Charge your B while doing this. If you're too close and in a bind, then use WFT's side tilt, or throw down Pac's fire hydrant and do some aerials. Make use of WFT's forward aerial when he's horizontally above you.

Well in Melee yeah. Though Sakurai fixed that for Brawl.

As much as the projectiles annoy me I love seeing Link kick some major butt! Same goes for Ganondorf, Bowser, Jiggs, Shiek and Captain Falcon. What happened to them in Brawl was just painful, I felt so bad for their fans.

Same, hopefully the Miiverse stage and its Nintendo Land theme is a sign. Fingers crossed!

Shiek, Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, and Link were my best characters in Brawl. :(

Everyone playing the 3DS version online now is so fucking bad. All they do is stand still, then roll behind you, and otherwise stand around charging random smashes. What kind of horrible place is this?

Here's the thing that happens with every FG ever: no one is going to look bad at the beginning, there's some inklings on who are the best and who might be really bad but it's not definite. However, this is because players are still figuring out characters and the game itself. Once that all simmers down oh... say... 6 to 9 months from now, you will definitely start seeing/knowing who is bad and who is good.

Brawl had the same thing, "no one looks bad so far" but there were some stupid characters out of the gate (DDD, Falco, Snake). 6 - 9 months later, MK everywhere, Snake second best, DDD/Falco third best (or some order of the sort) and then like Yoshi, Link, Zelda, Pokemon Trainer, Captain Falcon, Ganondorf and etc. were all pretty bad.

What's happening right now in tournaments, in terms of "bad characters", doesn't really mean anything about how good the balance is because people are still figuring it out.

It's still likely as time passes that huge power gulfs will be figured out, making a lot of characters look bad.
