Man. Doing All Star mode on the Wii U version is bullshit. I think 90% of my deaths have been due to some of the dumb stages. I really hate the crab on the Pikmin level.
Pikmin and Gamer are the worst on All-Star. The stage hazards on Pikmin look like they should be super fucking obvious, but I've been caught slipping way too often.
Pac Land isn't bad as long as you don't let the stage cycle all the way to the end. It's not hard to keep up and the AI generally has a worse time with it than most other stages in my experience.
Port Town is completely stupid too. Oh? At 0% before this stage? Hope you like getting a free 80%.
The hazards on it are obvious but if they hit they hurt. :/
Non All Star but getting Gaur Plains or some other huge ass stage sucks in Crazy Orders. The AI tends to run away and I tend to get this stage when I'm running out of time. D:
I think my Mario amiibo is dumb, he just killed himself in the F-Zero stage by jumping off stage to his death twice when the cars are racing toward you.
And he is level 48.
ill trade you, i think mine is a serial killer. i got him and donkey kong and he routinely schools us both. im waiting for dk to wise up and join forces with me in interest of self preservationI think my Mario amiibo is dumb, he just killed himself in the F-Zero stage by jumping off stage to his death twice when the cars are racing toward you.

Let me see if I can recount the Fortress fight.I am never going to beat Master Fortress. This has got to be one of the biggest bullshit bosses of all time. Either these fucking Kid Icarus flowers combo you, or the Stalfos bounce your shit to 0-150% damage all while you can't see anything because everything's black and it has the worst platform placement of all time. Who tested this shit and thought "YEAH PRETTY FUN"
Yup. Too many of the stages have hazards and with how long it takes to knock characters off screen in this game it makes All-Star mode kind of cheap because the longer you're on the stage the more likely it is that you're going to get hit by some bullshit stage hazard.Man. Unless you're doing the 12-minute challenge, just take your time. Eliminate the laser-shooting enemies as fast as possible, throw the enemies that can't be hit directly if they're in your way, clear out a room before you start wailing on a core, and abuse auto-healing equipment if you've got any.I am never going to beat Master Fortress. The master beast and sword are the most dangerous IMO, even if you know their patterns, it catches you sometimes offguard or attacks way to quickly
If he's having trouble before Fortress, I doubt he has time to waste. You can heal halfway through, though. A heart is dropped on Final Destination once the fortress starts, and you're returned to the entrance after the first half of it.
And like I said, if you have any auto-healer equipment, then you can take your time and chill outside to purposely abuse that as long as you have ample time left on the clock.

We always do random characters and random stages. Keeps things fresh and balanced.I played it yesterday with friends for the first time. None of them had played SSB since the early 2000s. It was a pain to get them started and some of them didn't really have fun. Picked the hardest characters based on coolness factors and were constantly annoyed that the game didn't do what they thought they input..
After we switched from 6 people smash to 1 on 1 winner stays it got much better though.
For the next session I'll change a few things I guess - we have to play on another TV: The stupid LG we played on had input lag which annoyed the hell out of me - felt laggy all the time.
I'll have to find a good mixture of items. Some don't really make sense for beginners I think. And I'll have to find a good mixture of stages. If you can fall down it has to be one that's not too hectic.
Any other tips for getting people to learn the game? Any good item settings? Stage settings?
Does anyone else feel like this game has been figured out too quickly? For Glory is full of Sonic's and Shieks and Zero Suit Samus. I mean sure, it's For Glory but it shouldn't necessarily be For Smashboards. Also, Sonic and Diddy pretty much have unbeatable combos and it's really hard to catch a Shiek or ZSS. Mayhbe it's people coming over from the 3DS version but recently it's been feeling like a "follow the tier list or lose, loser" kind of game.
Uh, can you clear 9.0 with dying now? In KI:U, you couldn't, and this was the hardest part of 9.0 actually...Yikes, one of the challenges is to clear 9.0 without dying once? Noooo thanks. Has anyone completed all the challenges yet? Is there any kind of special bonus or unlock for doing so?
By "not dying", he means you can't even lose 1 stock.Uh, can you clear 9.0 with dying now? In KI:U, you couldn't, and this was the hardest part of 9.0 actually...
Dr. Mario 8 fever rush challenge gets you 150K.What's the best way to grind gold? I'm pretty much stuck at 150000 right now since I'm at a point where I feel like I absolutely need to grab a trophy if it's new in the shop. I still need the 300000 gold challenge though, so I want to get that out of the way so I can stop worrying about money so much.

I see more Captain Falcons online than any other character. And Links. And Little Macs of course![]()
Sword? More like kitchen knife.Seriously, Marth's Forward Smash is so pitiful, a lot of character reach further with their bare hands, what the fuck is this sword...
It isn't about the character, it is about the player. Most of the people who "pick a top tier" don't have the skills necessary to make that character shine in such a way that justifies the tier placement.I dunno, after all those Diddy tournament videos popped up, everyone wants to be a grab happy monkey and he's generally fast so dodging his grabs puts you on the defence quite quickly. It's hard to imagine the likes of Bowser, Donkey Kong or Dedede keeping up with such a fast character as Diddy or Sonic.

I L O V E getting cheap wins with the Villager onlineHe's really an hilarious character. Tree smashed some Little Mac in Sudden Death. lmao
Yup, this is exactly how I feel too.
Good to know it wasn't just me. I haven't even cleared 100 man smash on the Wii U version yet, but I think I cleared it on first try on 3DS.

Maybe it's my timezone but everyone in For Glory has been following the "tiers" like a Bible. Sonic and Diddy are unbeatable. Good recovery, deadly air and just plain spammable grabs and setups. Those two will probably get a small nerf considering Greninja already did and he was manageable.
Configure "Attack" on the second analog stick for reliable tilts if you have no trouble pulling off Smash Attacks the traditional way.I have real problems doing tilt attacks on purpose, due to how stressy the game is, most come out as smash attacks. best example being samus down tilt attack, that thing is strong, but it's hard to get it to come out reliably, have to be gentle with the stick![]()
This guy plays a mean Mega Man, for what it's worth. What's the consensus on Mega Man? I'm trying to get a good grip on him but I can't seem to actually fight well with him. I can see his whole point of being a projectile-based character with a lot of range, but when it comes to fighting against decent players the projectiles don't really seem to do significant enough damage and his close-range options I feel are a bit limited. I don't know why but his lack of tilt As really throws me off more than I think it should.
Any strong MM players out here? What is your approach when playing as him?
