Super Smash Bros. for Wii U |OT| True Potential of Smash Bros.

I cannot recommend the Wii U Pro controller to anyone that plans to play the game seriously.

There's far too much sensitivity in the left analog stick, meaning a slight nudge will make your character run, also making it difficult to do non-tilt attacks.
If that's truly the case, I'm switching over to a GameCube controller tomorrow to see if there's any discernible difference for me. It's aggravating how atrocious my Smash inputs are on a Pro Controller.

Any decent tutorials for newcomers to the series that plan to get into the game in some depth at least? I 've read all kinds of terminology and what each technique is, but at the moment I would prefer a guide or a series of videos that take you by the hand and gradually explain most things around the game. E.g. I want to understand now how the combo system works in order to do a few things that I see in videos and for the time being I am totally clueless apparently..
This post might help.

I'm so bad at using characters who do not have a traditional up+B for getting back on the stage. I love using Yoshi, but I wish he had an up+B move that pushed him up really high like other characters. To be fair, his second jump is really large and you *can* spam up+B to toss eggs to come back on the stage, but I don't know why... I panic sometimes and fall to my death. And Ness is similar in that it's not your usual up+B.

Wire your connections.

If you're referring to my comment, I am wired on Wii U. My internet has been weird for a few months where every 3-6 seconds i get insane packet loss for 1/2 a second. It's noticeable while web browsing, and in other games (i'm on a wired PC connection, too).

Are people still saying that online works well in this game? Me and my friend went online together a few days ago at his house and it was unplayable, so after a few rounds we gave up. I played about 10 more matches at my dorm today, assuming my friend just had a shitty connection, but only 2 of those 10 were not complete laggy messes, and those 2 that were playable weren't exactly perfect.

Am I just unlucky or is something up with Nintendo's servers this week? I was able to get a solid connection about 75% of the time on the 3DS version, so I'm not sure why the Wii U version would be so much worse.

Not you in particular. I just saw a few posts complaining about lag. It is so tiresome when people don't even bother to think about why the problem might be on their end. Again, not pointing at you in particular.

Pikachu? Rosalina? Robin? Luigi?

At least none that I've played against

I think Rosalina is definitely considered among the top (even though she took a hit on the patch), as well as Diddy Kong and possibly Sheik. Don't know about the rest though, too early to say.

GGs Vena, great Robin! Is that your main, those arc-fire follow-ups are killing me lol!

He is. I'm still practicing my sliding Arcfires (I also need to keep my wasteful spamming of them down) off the pivot and the Nosferatu pivotslide. Some of your chars were absolutely wrecking me though lol, like Fox. :P

Oh yeah the Nosferatus, I can't believe how often you got me with that, it's way more effective than I thought. I'm really enjoying Fox this time around, I've been playing with him more and more these days.
