I do, but only really in short bursts. Usually anywhere between 1 and 5 For Glory matches at a time before I have to move on to something family/work related (working via the VPN right now before bed). I doubt I'd present much of a challenge for you, as I'm a slightly above .500 player in both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game. But I'll add you next time I turn on my Wii U.

My username is predictably SteveYoungblood.
I look forward to some good matches. I will play anyone as long as I get two things: minimal lag, and respect.

Sooooo I fought someone in one on one for glory earlier with the tag Mew2King. I dunno if it was THE Mew2King. It probably wasn't because I whooped him pretty soundly with ZSS. Though he did come back and beat me with Captain Falcon before disconnecting from me.

I would just totally run with the idea that it is THE Mew2King and start calling yourself a top pro.

Question: Those of you getting lag-free online, what are your typical DL speeds? Trying to troubleshoot this and I've accepted it might just be me.

It's not usually this slow, but it rarely peaks above 15.

Mind you this is the wireless signal. My Wii U is currently wired. I've only ever experienced two matches total out of ~500 that were laggy to the point of being unplayable on For Glory.

How can I learn to get better at this game? I suck so bad and it kills the enjoyment...I especially want to get better with Sonic.

Anytime I've seen Mew2King play on stream he's always used the tag SKY MP3 or something along those lines.

Your speed is fine but the PING is a little high.

We always do random characters and random stages. Keeps things fresh and balanced.

Yep, that's one way - maybe I'll consider it later.

For now I disabled the smart bomb, the beetle, the boomerang, the heart container, gust bellows, galagan bugs, the hammer, hothead, motion sensor bomb, the pow block, rally x-flag, steel diver, smoke ball and the spring...

I think it's important first to dial the chaos down a bit until everybody can use shields and knows what he does - and things like the motion bomb and the steel diver hardly function if you play with more than 4 players and the game is zoomed out further.

BTW I miss the 'true' random items from the N64 and Melee version. Since Brawl I feel that I get recent items way more often then others. If the drill arm appears once it will most likely be the most spawned item during the match. Never had Cuccos appear on me yet during my time with the game.
Pokeballs have mostly the same few pokemon in it.
Maybe there is a difference between the disc and the dd version (I thought it was worse once I installed brawl back then) - anyone of you have the same feeling towards this?

Pic of the day. To train your amiibo, it's important to give them hands-on time in battles. If you play against your amiibo with the same character, you can act as its teacher and help them learn moves easier. That said, it's also important to "feed" your amiibo equipment so you can make them stronger and give them special abilities.

The effects in red show when a special ability will have a negative impact, but this is not necessarily a bad thing since the equipment might raise your amiibo's overall stats. It's also important to note that there's a limit on how much you can level an amiibo no matter how much you keep feeding it. However, you can change their balance of attack, defense, and speed.

Speaking of, I just got a Kirby amiibo earlier today.

Ok, I'll be there in a few minutes, finishing Classic with Bowser.

No worries got the room open. KILL THAT NASTER CORE!!!

Damn Marco, I was about to say the input lag was wayyy insane, but then we just got DC'd lol.

Awesome Falcon. Would love to play ya in a non-bullshit environment.

Durden, I didn't have input lag at all, especially in the second match we played. Want to do another one or no more for today?

EDIT: Ah, got it. We'll fight again when your router won't be that distant XD Great game, btw!

Probably a really stupid question but...

I'm thinking of picking up a Wii U and Smash Bros. Do I need the amiibos or are they just an added extra?

My main usage of the game will be SP and local multiplayer when my friend pops over. Might do some online occasionally. So would it be worth getting them or not?

Are you still on for a quick fight? I have 30 minutes. Added you already.

I'm coming.

EDIT: In for 3 matches.

EDIT: Let's make other three...this one was at default setting :lol
Put 2/3 stock, no items.

Hey all, I'm loving the game and have tons of thread to catch up on here, but I wanted to ask a question. Say a person entered a name and customized their controls and such, but then wanted to change that name later. Easy fix would be to just make a new name... BUT what if the person wanted to keep their records of which characters they'd used most and won/lost with and stuff. Is that possible? Or would the person just have to make a new name altogether and forfeit those records and stats?

Does anyone have any advice to Diddy? Every time I run into a good Diddy online it's instant GG because they all know that his throw into up air is an unavoidable kill.

I've learned to use the air dodge since you can often cancel out his combos with a well timed one. Most of the Diddy players I've fought are on auto pilot, so once you break their ability to combo, they usually crumble. Who do you use?

I'm a semi scrub btw.

Somehow I don't see you anymore. I join and it says "searching..." for other players.

Edit: Now it says unable to join game.

I thought you stopped playing with me. Opening the room again.

EDIT: Room opened.

EDIT2: This is the last match.

So this sold for $2,500:
Now this shows up:
The legless lass is currently going for $240. I'm hoping the buyer of the first gets this one, to set up a museum of defective amiibo.

2 down, 10 to go.

EDIT:
Two questions: Which flat trophies have different poses when you turn them around? And how do you get the equipment that starts you off with a home-run bat - is it random, or on the challenge board?

We're done, 69wpm. GGs. I hope your input lag problems from the first match weren't present in the other matches...I had no input lag at all in the other matches, seriously.

They were, no idea why. I should probably get a LAN adapter, maybe that will fix it. Do you have one?

No LAN adapter, going by Wi-Fi. In 90% of the cases in 1v1 matches, from almost 0 to 0 input lag.

I used to use Donkey Kong but his lack of range gimped him in matchups against Diddy, Toon Link and Ike. I switched to ROB so I'm able to pull the same shit while also being fast and good in range. Diddy still beats me though and due to recent tournament activity, his popularity is surging in For Glory.

Please don't let that Meta Knight webm spread. If I see that shit in For Glory I'm going to saw my Wii U in half, put ham and cheese in the middle and eat it out of anger.

Smash Bros. Creator Doesn't Think He'll Make a Sequel

Can't blame the guy, and I can't see how Smash can get any better/larger than it is now.

He's been working non-stop for two years with these 2 (3DS and Wii U) versions. He needs to take a rest, and forget about Smash for some years.

I also understand him pretty well. Once his job is done, after a long time, he does not want to know anything about it. It often happens to me, after working one full year on a project, once I finished, I'm so fed up I don't want to work on it no more, but after working another period on something different, I'm ready to take the inicial project and work on it again.

All I can tell him, after trying the Wii U version, is "Thank you so much for this great game. You did a great job. Take a big holiday, you deserve it, you won it.".

After a big rest, he can work on other projects he wants to work on. He could also be the supervisor of the next Smash Bros, like Kamiya did with Bayonetta 2.

Just let him get a vacatation, some extra money and a game to build (New Duck Hunt game?) and maybe in 5-7 years we will get the next Smash and he will just overview the production rather than going into every little detail...Miyamoto should help him to learn how to flip the table :P
