Am I the only one secretly thinking Sony is trying to help out Yu Suzuki with the continuation of Shenmue? Mark Cerny have a great relationship with the guy, and he got close ties to Sony, and he want to make Shenmue 3 but just need the budget.

Sega won't give it to him, so maybe Sony is trying to get around to it, by maybe co-operating with Sega and funding the project, to make it an exclusive in return.

Yu & Yosp had dinner together at the Gamelab event.

I'm just baffled that there don't seem to be that much activity in the TGA thread, which is sad to me. That event is tomorrow and we should be all up in arms, which I am, and PSX is on Saturday.

We'll get some awesome premieres and reveal tomorrow I bet. I'm already excited for Adr1ft, No Man's Sky and Metal Gear Online.
We've been burnt by the yearly awards every time, people are wise not to be excited.

Blame the VGX.

Personally I'm treating this whole weekend as one joint event, despite the fact that it's not.

w..what

I think they mean to stop quoting the year-old Twitter post about Titanfall.

It has been established that Titanfall as a single title will remain exclusive to Microsoft Consoles and PC, but the IP isn't wholly exclusive and also, there isn't anything stopping Respawn(as far as we know) releasing on PS4 with Titanfall: Enhanced Edition for example which could include all previous DLC plus something more like reworked graphics.

.

TGA Thread is for actual news for something actually happening, this is just the hype train. WE DON'T NEED FACTS OR ACTUAL THINGS HAPPENING HERE!!!!

Choo chooo!

I think we all do. It's just that TGA is closer and they'll have reveals as well. :)

After last years lackluster performance, which wasn't so suprising considering the new consoles just launched, people are a bit more cautious.
Also we don't know what to expect, except for EA and MGO for now.

And obviously the PSX hits the nostalgic nail right on the head, people are expecting reveals from franchises that where a big part of their life.

The 'TitanFall Sigma' concept is difficult to guess. It's certainly true the next TF will be multiplatform, but what even defines a sequel, especially in the multiplayer arena? Maybe a contract could specify no Sigma like shenanigans, but they could still just bundle everything from the first game, DLC and throw in another map and call it TF2 presumably.

I don't think they'll announce it yet though. I really thought they would before release, that they'd just force it through a year after the first game, but the way the game came and went, I think they need to wait until TF2 can be something special. They barely had any content in the first game, a year isn't long enough.

OT | Twenty years, Boyes II Men.

I played the first few levels of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped earlier today, and to my surprise I died a few times early in the stages. Especially when I were riding the tiger, and I were reminded, that I can control the speed of it.

PlayStation Experience |OT| This train will never Crash

Knack is 75% action game, but the platforming is very similar to Crash.
Based on

v1: PlayStation Experience |OT| The Last Guardian won't let it Crash
v2: PlayStation Experience |OT| The Last Guardian won't let the hype train Crash

You wanna expand on that thought, because to me the similarity pretty much stops at "you jump on platforms, some of them move, there are obstacles." It controls differently, it's nowhere near as precise platforming-wise, there's not as much emphasis on it by far, it just seems... pretty different.

Nope, you're not the only one. I've been saying over and over, I think it's a distinct possibility that Sony are trying to make something Shenmue-related happen, most realistically a HD Collection, which if successful can lead on to other things. I know I'm going to sound like a broken record using this example, but whatever. Truth is, without Sony's influence, Double Fine would've never been able to convince Disney to give Grim Fandango the remastered treatment. But Sony came along, they smoothed things over with Disney, they made it a reality, and now we have the HD version of one of the greatest games ever made coming out early next year.

Lately, we've seen Sony linked to Shenmue many times in some way or form. Cerny and Yoshida pictured with Suzuki on more than one occasion, Cerny introducing Suzuki at the GDC Shenmue postmortem and also serving as his translator, Scott Rhode making reference to it recently on Twitter, Sony acknowledging that out of the compiled list of games most requested by gamers to appear on the Playstation platforms, Shenmue came out on top, and also that whole #SaveShenmue Twitter campaign that was appealed directly to Sony and retweeted by them.

I'm not saying it's definitely going to happen. I just think it's not outside the realm of possibility. Suzuki and a couple of the folks at Sony do seem awfully chummy these days.

What if the PS4 exclusive that will make people upset or whatever, I think in similar vein to the Rise of the Tomb Raider deal with Microsoft.....

Mirrors Edge Reboot exclusive for PS4.

It wasn't an IP with huge commercial success but had a lot of critical success. EA last showed it at this E3 and it was conceptual prototype, so it's definitely still early stages even now so not a lot of investment since the first release. Sony could provide the funds and resources to help get the project off the ground in exchange for exclusivity.
I think that'd be a title popular enough to make some upset. It is a multiplatform title as we know now.
