The best both of them..and what i just watched, no sorry.

I mean just look at this... they knew exactly they were creating something iconic back then.

I'm all for not judging too harshly by trailers, giving them a chance that in context it might be better.

But this looks like shit. Exactly as I expected it would. Emilia Clarke looks absurd as I knew she would, and it just looks like a by the numbers blockbuster banking on Terminator 1 and 2 callbacks.

Because a T-800 was sent back earlier in her life when she was a kid and raised her to become a badass. Hence old Arnold in the trailer.

I know that. I'm just saying it kills any opportunities for Sarah to grow as a character because she's her T2 self from the start.

Ugggggggggh, so much recycling from the first two movies. The true sign of a movie that has no ability whatsoever to stand on its own merits.

Not as bad as I expected. Love the new villain. Good casting. The nods to T1 and T2 are a bit much but it looks much more interesting than T3 and TS.

But it didn't need to move on. It was done. There was nothing left to say. Everything about T3 was a soulless cash grab.

I'm just talking specifically about the Judgment Day plot. I'm agreeing with what you're saying, I just thought T3 had put a lid on it once and for all either way and that future installments would be about the war, survival, etc. Move on to new ground. This is just going back to the same shit.

Oh, is "this looks better/worse than Jurassic World" some kind of new thing? Jurassic World will shit all over this. Mark my words!

I think you've got the backstory wrong.

On the verge of winning the war against Skynet, Connor sends his trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese back through time to save his mother's life and ensure his own existence. But what he finds on the other side is like nothing he ever expected. After being orphaned at age 9 by a Terminator, Sarah Connor has since been brought up by another Terminator, played by Schwarzenegger, programmed to protect her. This Terminator has then trained her to face her destiny, which she adamantly tries to reject.[3]

I thought
the reason the terminator went back to 1984 was because that was the farthest back in time they could trace Sarah Conner/ John Conner's lineage.

I'm sorry, but I still can't understand why some people are Ok with this movie deleting Terminator 1 and Terminator 2.

This is like if Universal released Back to the Future 4, with Justin Bieber as Marty McFly and Adam Sandler as Doc Brown, and they just go back in time and preventing the events of the 3 original movies from even happening.

Why would anyone like this?

People have long since stopped caring about the continuity of Terminator. They just want a good film (which this is probably not).

Holy fuck this looks awesome. I guess I can kind of see why so many others are down on it but I think this story take on the franchise is really interesting.

Hm.. Could be atrocious but it could be alright.

Jai Courtney is literally the new Sam Worthington (also was in Terminator). Gets in a ton of franchises then will fall off shortly after.

The plot synopsis that leaked a few months ago was 100% spot on.

Skynet sends another Terminator back in time to kill Sarah's parents in the 70s, it succeeds but is defeated by another reprogrammed Terminator, which raises Sarah as she raised John in T2. So when Kyle arrives at 1984, she's already a badass, and the older Terminator defeats the 1984 Terminator sent to kill Sarah as an adult. I don't remember the rest, but due to the altered timeline, an additional/different T-1000 gets sent to 1992 to murder John and Sarah and Kyle, John's kid gets sent back as well, setting up the climactic fight.

What in the fuck is this shit? Did they lift this plot from someone's fan fic site?

Looks okay I guess :\

Blu ray rental for me.

So, stop me if I'm not understanding this. The first three movies were about sending Kyle Reese back in time to stop the Terminators from rising and stop the war from happening. They failed, judgement day happened anyway, but now it's like a different timeline so they get the chance to send him back again? Only, now it's not as far back, so it's basically picking up after T1? Wait, that doesn't....I'm so confused.

Ah, okay. Now I understand.

It was. It's best not to think about how they somehow managed to track down her parents, especially with the OG 1984's CPU and remaining chassis utterly destroyed in T1/T2.

Edit:

From Entertainment Weekly:

Twist No. 1? Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton’s steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991’s T2. Rather, the mother of humanity’s messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she’s been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger’s Terminator—an older T-800 she calls “Pops”—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.

I don't even really have a problem with Jai Courtney. He's been okay in the movies I've seen him in (Die Hard, Divergent). Emilia Clarke however seems really awkward.

Looks idk ok and forgettable. But definitely doesn't feel like Terminator.

tbh I don't think that anything will feel like Terminator again. They should stop trying.

Emilia Clarke does look like Linda Hamilton at least in that truck scene. Looked great.

I don't get it. This looks like T1 and T2 mixed together, but with other lead actors.... why?

And I rolled my eyes the moment John Conners opened his mouth : "I look at every one of you... BLAH BLAH generic crap"

the asian terminator looks like the asian twin brother of the terminator in t2.

the resemblance is uncanny.

I expected hot garbage and I'm sure some parts are, but this looked pretty ok. Nothing mind blowing or crazy, but a good way to shake things up timeline wise.

Downfall of it looks like way to many boom boom set pieces instead of good ol interaction between characters.

I almost stopped watching the trailer because of the frustration of not knowing where the fuck this franchise is going. I'm so confused in terms of the timeline of events.

Not only was that terrible but(Storywise) they're nullifying the events of T1 and 2 for...that. =/

THIS is my problem with this.

A bad sequel I can handle.

A bad sequel that becomes a prequel in a way that it erases the masterpieces that were the original films? I'm NOT ok with that.

You know what, guys, I never watched Games of Throne.

When I watched the trailer, I didn't have any audio, but I felt that she kind of looked quite like a younger version of T2 Sarah. Of course when re watched with audio, her voice makes her sound really young.. I'm willing to give her a try. I could see T1 Sarah involving into this version of Sarah. She's like mid-transition or something.

1992 Sarah was super extreme hardcore, from having spent the '80 with Mexican Cartel guys and Guerillas, and being locked up eventually.

Was it ever revealed for how long she was locked at the Pasadena Institute? It seems that its been a few years, considering how familiar her and the Doctor are.

I thought
the reason the terminator went back to 1984 was because that was the farthest back in time they could trace Sarah Conner/ John Conner's lineage.

Which makes sense as a good chunk of T1 was about the Terminator trying to find Sarah in the first place. This was pre-internet so trying to identify her parents would have been impossible.

Whatever I'll probably enjoy it. There was like 20 seconds of that trailer where I said "Okay I'm on board," when Amelia Clarke says sstay with me if you want to live, then Arnold debuts, and things have changed... and then it just looks like shit. But, I'll watch it.

This effectively makes it a reboot a la Star Trek right? I guess that's one way to do it.

This will probably be better and more fun than Terminator Salvation or T3, which would be a step forward after taking 10 steps back with the previous two films.

It looks OK, worse offender is the casting for Sarah Connor, looks like a teenager, not buying her badassness at all from the trailer.

I'm the total opposite, can't stand him at all. He's like the personification of bald space marine and he's just boring and a terrible choice for Kyle Reese. He has none of the cool factor or personality as Michael Biehn.
