if the t-800 is the same as in T1, does that mean the t-1000 is the same, too?
they try to kill them as they arrive, but the t-1000 manages to get away, which makes him copy another person this time?

Why is Sarah Connor a badass from the get-go now?

I loved her character because she was a regular-waiter-turned-badass, this kills any character progression for her.

She also knows who John Connor and Kyle Reese are. What's the point?

I don't fucking understand how the timeline in this works.

So both T-800s got sent to the past and Reese and the T-1000 got sent to the same time period?

If so then why does it look like the 1980s still?

You just don't get it. After cinema's Judgement Day, there will be no "characters", no "plot", no "logic"--not in any human sense, as all the writing and production will be done via Google-designed algorithms. There will only be ninety-minute blocks of randomly edited restagings of famous moments from the blockbusters of yesteryear, only with worse acting and effects with each new sequel.

This film, much like the original T-800 in the first film, is but the first portent of that soulless void that we blithely refer to as "the future". May Cthulhu drown us all before we live to see it.

Wait, do the Kyle & Sarah scenes not take place in 1984? There are LCD screens and the bus and vending machines look modern.

Plot twist, they time-travel into the future from the past!*

*if this is a spoiler it is purely accidental, as I haven't read any spoilers.

ARNOLD DIVE!

Best shit ever.

Looks awful.

Repeats so much from the best films. At some point that isn't an homage but a lack of creativity. They also seem to be going for a T2 Connor but I don#t buy it from Clarke. She does not look tough at all. Also bad CG.

They bring back the T-1000 concept but reuse the cop outfit and getting shot in the face stuff again. Couldn't even be original with that.

Looks better than T3 and at least it looks like they have frickin lazers in the future again, the only thing that really bugged me about Salvation.

Will watch.

It looks like this movies going to spend the first 45 minutes in the future so that we can "relate" to the characters before going back in time to see the terminator shit we paid for as per usual for a 2014 blockbuster

Who ever that is playing John Connor...he is not good. He looks and sounds about as war hardened as an English teacher.

Jason Clarke is actually a pretty great actor.

I think he had his first Lead role with Dawn of the planet of the apes, but he has been in a lot of pretty big movies lately as supporting roles

Off the top of my head, White House Down and The Great Gatsby.

Anyways it seems like this film is going the infinite realities route. meaning, the second he is sent back to save Sarah Connor, that time line is ultimately changed from the time line that Kyle will end up getting sent to in his future. YAY TIME TRAVEL.

LOL they are retconning the original two!? That's so dumb. I mean yes it makes this movie potentially interesting, but it's stupid in the grand scheme.

So.. what is this?

It's a reboot, sequel, prequel, alternate timeline version?

Some sort of mix? At least that's what I get from the trailer.

Howerver, the wiki entry sheds a little bit of light.
The wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminator:_Genisys) mentions that Sarah was orphaned at age 9.

That would mean that the T-800 from T1 went back too far and killed Sarah's parents.
However, the reprogramed T-800 from T2 also went back too far and rescued Sarah from T1's T-800.

That creates an alternative past, that Kyle Reese is sent to.
And then the T-1000 from T2 goes back a little bit too far and arrives at the T1 timeframe apparently.

Remember that awesome movie? It's like that, but bad! Don't you want to buy a ticket?

Trailer did absolutely nothing to me. Huge Terminator fan here, but this just breaks my fucking heart man. Damn.

As much as I want to appreciate the effort of a bunch of people trying to make a new Terminator movie, they really shouldn't have.

I appreciate them trying to cram in the stuff what makes 1 & 2 so good, like the nude arriving of the Terminator, the T-1000 and what not but this is just a fucking hard miss to me. Just let this die already, please. It feels so off, and nothing like 1 & 2. No charismatic supporting actors, these people are so boring. It doesn't even have one millionth of the atmosphere the first two movies had. Think I'm actually gonna rewatch Terminator 2 tonight, for the 5th times this year.

Always happy to see Lee Byung-hun pop up and I like Jason Clarke. Also laughed really hard at the arnie missile bit. Might check it out if reviews confirm that this is indeed a full blown comedy.

Off the top of my head, White House Down and The Great Gatsby.

Didn't he also play a soldier in Zero Dark Thirty? No matter, I agree with DMczaf, he didn't look the part. Hell, no one did, other than the T-1000.

Huh..

So Jurassic World looks a little better now.
At least JW is trying something new and building on the themes and ideas of the original. Instead of literally retreading the past movies in the franchise

Plot twist, they time-travel into the future from the past!*

That's actually what happened in Sarah Connor Chronicles.

And btw, Lena Headey was way more "Sarah Conner" than Emilia Clarke could hope to be

Sarah Conner cast is pretty great.

Always love a good Arnie cameo.

But wtf is this movie? When is it set? I'm so confused...

Also those bus physics are wack.

Actually, this movie kind of fixes the problem with the whole franchise.

Skynet can keep sending Terminators back to kill Sarah. Like when shes on the crapper or when shes getting her hair permed. Sending a Terminator back to her childhood, to raise her to be a fighter, is the only way she will be prepared to fight back.
