I've discovered a mild annoyance. I got the Hori Wii U Battle Pad, which is basically a classic controller pretending to be a Gamecube controller. To be more 'authentic', I guess, they decided to switch the placement of the L, R, ZL, and ZR triggers. So, L and R are in the back, and ZL and ZR are in the front, more like a GCN controller.
Unfortunately, this has the side-effect of making it more annoying to switch controllers on-the-fly. When I use the Battle Pad I have it set up such that L & R are shield, and ZL & ZR are grab, since I like shield to be where my fingers naturally rest. Unfortunately, now when I decide to just grab the gamepad and play offscreen, the back buttons are grab, and the front two are shield, since the ZL & ZR and L & R switch places. ~_~ Smash 4 doesn't let me individually set buttons for classic controller separate from the pro controller or gamepad.
If Hori had just left them where they normally were on the classic controller I could've just set them to be whatever I want and they would've remained consistent throughout the other controllers I use. I'm considering using a separate profile for the other controllers, but I kind of want to keep my records all together. Oh well.
