PlayStation Experience Event in December Discussion Thread 2 - What we Know

yeah but there's tons of other things being made at SE, many of those 3500 employees got shit to do

I guess we'll see. It'd be veeery interesting, but if they put that on their plate too I don't know how well it's going to work out :P
I can't think of many other announcements we know about right now. Bravely Second is Silicon and Dragon Quest Heroes is Omega Force lessens resources again.

DQ11 could potentially require lots of employees if they are making it on a next gen console and if depending if they go or don't go with Level 5 again.

FFXIV with content updates and expansion probably has a 100-200, though. IOS titles also don't take up many employees :)

Lets dial this up a bit.

"So, I'll bet you all thought that Street Fighter V announcement from the other day was really something, huh? Fortunately, that's not all we had in store for you this weekend."

Screen darkens

Music starts to play

Fade in on a beautiful coastline under a sparsely clouded sky; the coast of Gransys. The draw distance is amazing, with shrubbery swaying in the wind and small groups of wildlife bounding about as far as the eye can see.

Pan across the coast until the camera reaches the fisher town of Cassardis. Cut to shot overlooking Cassardis bay from the Arisen's shoulder. The water is beautifully rendered at a crisp 1080x1920 resolution.

Suddenly, a noise comes from the town gates. Monsters arisen!

The Arisen turns and sprints to the center of town, their animations running smoothly at a rock solid 60fps. When they reach the gates, they come face to face with a great drake! The Arisen draws a sword and shield, and begins battering away at the drake, dodging claw swipes and ducking in to strike at the beast's burning heart.

The battle is going well when, suddenly, the Arisen is swept into the air, then grabbed, held immobile by the drake's great clawed hand. It begins encanting a dark curse of assured death, and all seems lost. Just as the Arisen begins to glow with the spell's life-sapping powers, a giant spire of ice erupts from the ground and pierces the dragon's weak point, it's fiery heart, dealing massive damage.

The drake falls over dead. Saved by a trusty pawn! But wait... this is no ordinary pawn.

The camera pans to our hero's savior, a busty lvl. 50 arch-sorceress by the name of "DayZ100". This is no ordinary AI companion, it's another player!

Over their improbably clear mic, DayZ100 says, "Good thing I came when I did. Hey, do you have any rabbit skins you can trade? I need them to upgrade this sweet new bow. Aught."

Before any trading can commence, a cockatrice appears, attacking the nearby fort! The two players quickly agree to put off any trading until the new monster is dealt with, and set off for the fort, passing from town to trail without any loading screens.

The screen fades out, and a title card comes into view.

"Dragon's Dogma: The Masterwork Edition" coming exclusively to PS4

The screen fades to black, and the trailer appears to be over.

...

Then, the music changes.

Another scene comes into view. A stunning, brand new landscape! Brand new graphics! Brand new everything!

New vocations, new monsters, rideable horses, brine-free water!

Spears, axes, combat staves, martial arts, crossbows, flails, vicious whips, dual shields, dual swords, dual you, dual me! Proper stealth abilities for assassins, more magic for mages of all kinds, two sets of combat commands for warriors!

Random monster encounters, greater emergent gameplay, even darker, moonless nights! New weather effects! Seasons!

Even better Character Creation! NPCs that move around and live and aren't made of plastic! No more get x amount of x notice board quests! New "shut up" command for AI pawns!

Tons of new settlements! More than one city!

Co-op play! Embark on your great journey with friends, online or locally!

Everything else in the whole world!

DRAGON'S DOGMA 2 INCLUDING THE PS4 REMASTER OF THE ORIGINAL OUT RIGHT NOW LOOK UNDER YOUR SEATS OH MY GOD

Screen fades to black. The audience is silent, unsure of how to respond. Time is running free.

Keith Silverstein comes on stage and says, "Wolves hunt in packs."

The audience explodes.

Good stuff. But instead of the guy on stage saying "wolves hunt in packs", as people are gazing in awe at the copy of DD2 (including Dark Arisen Remastered) and their eyes are welling up, the guy on stage says "They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong!"

sorry for the offtopic

but this is one of the best avatars in this thread

Yeah, I considered it, but I kind of already used the masterworks joke. Plus I don't know who voices Caxton.

going by that backpack pic from a couple of posts ago, it looks like santa monica is

Jaffe used to work at SSM. so maybe it's just an old bag he had from his GoW1 days?

Still... I hope you're right. 3 games from SCEA...

- David Jaffe's game
- San Diego Not!MLB
- MLB 15 The Show

And that's not including SCEE/JA or other third-parties...

Oh I meant evidence outside of the advert. I was aware of that Crash reference as soon as that video was uploaded :P

People also like to tout the fact Activision removed Crash from their website, but that actually happened MONTHS AND MONTHS before that video ad. The removal was just part of them updating their site in early 2013.

Man, I'm really hyped for this event and for Geoff's show tonight.

I'm already really happy with SF5 (though I wish XB1 owners could get it as well <3), but more is always good. Hoping for some Vita love as well.

I honestly doubt san diego would have enough manpower to produce another game on top of MLB for presumably 3 playstation skus, a f2p game which they haven't talked about in months

while santa monica is working on what most likely is a gow title and helping the chinese room and is probably the overall bigger studio

Wife just told me she wants us to go tomorrow morning with family/friends to the zoo for our kids...

LOL.
My wife told me she wants to go tomorrow with our son on Santa Clauses parade. It's start 5 p.m. local time, but I think it will be end in 1 hour. :)

At this point, especially after the SF V leak, I am certain that we are going to get Parappa The Rapper and eventually a FF V: R announcement. Although I don't think the latter one will be at PSX. But it should be soon.

So now we have a Insider who save the Remake with his own eyes
Another Gaffer saw this game in a list of the E3 Games
And Sony has an FF7 Easter Egg in their add

The Dream will come true my friends

Why not just explain to her that you've been looking forward to PSX for along time and want to watch that. And if that doesn't work, just tell her you've got the shits and need to stay home. :P

Good.

Yeah I'm grumpy today

Been eating too many Babybel again?

I REALLY hope that the SFV thing isn't the only thing we see from Capcom at PSX - Assuming it was meant for there. I can't imagine a bombshell like that dropping at TGA if it is a PS4 and PC exclusive.
