Capcom's Hiroyuki Kobayashi : "Unexpected" game announcement "soon"

I'm kind of worried the Dragon's Dogma Online rumor just crushed the DMC5 hype. I think Dragons Dogma Online unfortunately fits more of the 'turn heads overseas' bill.

I think there is a chance it's a remaster of the first game with updates and actual co-op play.

The game definitely didn't get the attention it deserved last gen.

This would also allow Itsuno and his team to work on DMC5 as well.

Dragon's Dogma basically means that everyone's lose
Those who hoped for DMC5 would get none
Those who hoped for DD2 basically get kicked in the groin (unless they're part of group who want MP and Pawn-less DD)

Worse than I thought.

Maybe it's just a rebranding of Deep Down and that's not what they're going to announce!

Someone tell me it so...

Edit: NO. I don't want to lose hope! DMC5, Resi 7 or DD2/Remaster. Whatever it is, it's not DDOnline!

I love how everyone is ignoring DMC

as much as you don't like that game, it was a major title in the dmc series

The fact that they "tried" to reboot the series means that they don't know what to do with dmc5

and then this game boomed, which mean we won't be getting another dmc game for awhile

My fear is that this Dragons Dogma Online thing is going to be a mobile game or something. Surely they are smarter than that.

Fans have known how to improve on the DMC formula for ages. If they know, Itsuno and his team surely knows.

The reboot improved very little and even made some aspects that needed change worse (enemy design).

And you're forgetting that Itsuno and his team were working on Dragon's Dogma. No Itsuno, no DMC5.

Itsuno already stated his desire to work on DMC5 (yes, he specifically said DMC5). This was well after DmC released.

He also said he'd love to make Rival Schools, but we're not getting that either.
Rival Schools isn't important to Capcom's bottom line. Again, not like I have any faith in Capcom not to wind up tanking Devil May Cry with yet another stupid decision instead.

Rival Schools was also never as important to Capcom as Devil May Cry was.

Welp, let's cross our fingers guys... I don't want to wait until E3 for more announcements... I need this nowwww...

If a new Devil May Cry gets announced it's totally going to be at a Japanese event and not at something like E3. Hell even DmC, which was produced by a European developer, was debuted at TGS if I remember.

SFV? Really? That was Ono's big surprise announcement? The most obvious boring thing ever forever? great.

Some of you guys are way too hopeful, i cant really trust Capcom anymore after the last few years, that does not mean i dont want to be pleasantly surprised, who knows what they could do, but im gonna be careful with them, try to not get too hyped.
I try.

The thing I'm going back and forth about is the Devil May Cry name drop on the Dragon's Dogma website. On the one hand it seems like a red herring, on the other hand why would they name drop that specific franchise when they know there's a demand for it?

It's just from the Dragon's Dogma facebook. They probably know very little.

Devil May Cry trademark still might mean something

At the end Capcom will announce 5 games at the Playstation Event
All we ever wanted and all PS4+PC only
I mean why not - This event is meant to be huge and there could be announcements everywhere for everything even surprises.

5? why the specificity?

Deep Down, SFV, Dragon's Dogma, Devil May Cry ...
