Street Fighter 5 for PS4 & PC teaser trailer

Nope. Sony owns Bloodborne and it was Sony who decided to team up with From Software after the Souls games exploded in popularity.

http://ps4daily.com/2014/10/bloodborne-ip-and-trademark/

I mean just in the general way of co-development and financing. Bloodborn would not be happening w/o Sony's financial/engineering experience, and neither would SF5 for Ono and w/e SFIV team members are working on the new one.

I mean, they maybe could've gone to Electronic Arts or Microsoft, but they have vastly different corporate cultures and almost no weight in the Japanese game industry to be a consideration.

could mean ANYTHING!

Anyone else get a Super Mario Strikers vibe from this logo?

"Why? For all we know Microsoft Sony helped funding a game that otherwise never would've been made!"™

Nah fuck that. Moneyhatting third part multiplatform franchises is petty and counterproductive to the interest of gamers as a whole. This just shows Sony is willing to stoop to the bullshit tactics their competition uses and, frankly, that makes me really sad and apprehensive about what lies ahead. This shit is not okay Sony. Stop it.

The company still bleeding cash "wins"? How so?

Show me the scenario where an exclusivity grab via Street Fighter changes Sony's long-term situation.

Oh come on now, it is an exaggerated response to the news and he is talking about gaming, not the company as a whole.

Try harder.

This. Dont stoop to MS shady tactics Sony.

Wasn't there a rumor way back RE7 would be exclusive to Xbox One?

Considering this SF5 announcement that wouldn't even surprise me at this point.

Capcom's done nothing but go back and forth playing both sides of the fence this generation.

At this point I just hope they don't do it with all their IPs. I don't want to end up missing out on Dragon's Dogma 2 because Capcom wants to dance the line.

I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and say street fighter isn't gonna make or break Sony lol.

I don't mind console exclusive's as long as its exclusive on my chosen platform.

This pretty much sums up my impression of the general reaction compared to that of the Tomb Raider reveal. Sure, PC gamers were also affected by that, but a money hat is still a money hat.

He's probably talking about the PlayStation division, not that this move will cause them to "win" the big bad ugly console war or something.

They are still the market leader at the moment.

Don't take this seriously, "won" is just used as a term to describe a victory in a battle against X1.

PS4, XB1, Gamecube, idc where it goes I will follow.

I'm super hyped!

I hope Urien gets in on this roster, and I hope the new mechanics are cool. I saw what looked like the focus effect in the trailer, and those electric moves make me think that's perhaps and ex version of a move ?

Third party exclusives have existed since the 8 bit era, it is not a new phenomenon and has not been detrimental to gaming or gamers.

Settle down for goodness sake.

I'm not trying to spin anything. I just quoted two posts of yours with contrasting reactions to the exclusivity of two different games. If you want to call that spin, then I suggest finding out what spin means.

The reactions are different but i still don't get what point are you trying to make. It's not like i'm saying opposite things in each one. If it makes you feel better i can say that it's a great grab for Sony, even better than TR for MS.

Yeah Capcom is not doing well financially so them changing their tune this generation about not liking exclusive games is kinda telling. Having companies fit the bill for a game isn't the worst thing in the world, especially if you got a hot IP.

Sony isn't clean or more honorable. They're a company. They've been "stooping to MS' shady tactics" all generation.

I told you guys before, don't use logic in game announcement threads. People don't get it.

They've gone and done it... they've gone and woke the sleeping dragon now.

Sony should have left well enough alone and now they're going to get it. It's not enough that they're bleeding benjamins from practically every crevice of their existence. Now they go and throw immense moneyhats at a niche game like Street Fighter just to piss off the market. Why pay to keep a game out of the hands of as many gamers as possible? Why not put that money into first-party studios and games instead?

I know, I know... this is the way the business goes as they say. Well, they forced Microsoft's hands with their early sales lead and Microsoft only responded with an NPD whooping (source: musings thread) by way of incredible deals and value. Microsoft will undoubtedly follow this announcement up with some real megatons of their own.

Gears remake collection. A true Banjo sequel. Halo 5 beta in the hands of gamers. The next Bayonetta, Dead Space and Crysis as exclusives. Those are the kinds of blockbuster response announcements I expect, and then some. You hit Microsoft with a jab, you best be ready for a flurry of uppercuts coming at you in response.

Nothing's stopping MS from moneyhatting a Street fighter 5 championship edition. Would be perfect even.

Though I wouldn't be too salty if I was an xbone owner, the game looks exactly the same as 4.

People felt that way back then too? Heh. Now I really wonder what the internet really would have been like if it was that advanced back then.

Square jumped ship to Sony before the n64 was even out though. Kid should have had his EGM subscription game on point and he could have saved himself some heartache.

How is the PC community for SF anyway? I only have the SF4 not the arcade or ultra edition and whenever I went to play online it was always against the same person it seemed.

If this feels like a substantial improvement (rather than sort of moving the pieces around like the point they got to with Soul Calibur), then I'm into it. A full numbered advancement in SF should be a big deal, and I'm ready to get hype.

This could potentially be the new FF13 for 360 rant.

Street Fighter isn't niche though, so this might be already a copy-paste from some other post. Personally the PS4/PC exclusive doesn't bother me that much, given that Guilty Gear XRD isn't coming to Xbox One as well, and if the PC version is half as optimized as SF4 was, there's no reason not to just go and buy it on there instead, especially with the bigger compatibility for any type of fighting stick.
