i dig the trend of games modeling story modes like tv shows. makes it much more streamlined for busier gamers who play games in small chunks.

Never watched the VGAs, but this is miles ahead last year's VGX. At least the first hour, now it's getting little weird.

For all those bitching about other people bitching.

Entertainment >>>>>>> empty attempts at validation. Yippie, a boring show that feels cobbled together, where indie devs show 20 second trailers and corporations send their finest speakers to reveal smaller, already known projects. I'm certainly feeling the love and warmth. Having my hobby be validated with suits and a fancy stage really makes me glad to play games.

So...just tuned in an is this any good this year? They're not still pulling that "these games won the following awards offscreen" thing again, are they?

I'd rather see less of the 5 minute PR interviews and bad concerts and just focus on the awards.

But then again, could it be any other way? Would video game fans watch a traditional award show? I don't think we have the attention span for that. Most of us would rather read a list than watch a three-hour show.

Wait, this show is 3 hours? As in we're not halfway done right now? Holy crap.
