The Game Awards 2014 Thread: Keighley unveils, less McHales

So...just tuned in an is this any good this year? They're not still pulling that "these games won the following awards offscreen" thing again, are they?


I'd rather see less of the 5 minute PR interviews and bad concerts and just focus on the awards.

That's happening. Nintendo won developer of the year and fighting game of the year and it wasn't on stage.

If I can live my life without ever seeing an award for 'Trending Gamer' again, I will have lost nothing.

Odd show, feels a bit rough and some strange award recipients. Smash for fighting game? What? Trophy looks cool as hell, unlikely to hit ebay.

Marginally better than last year. But they're still pulling the 'off-screen' award thing.

Exactly. Just opening up with Koji Kondo put it ahead of all the others for me. And I don't mind the music performances. I think the new content shown so far has been fine, and I don't mind seeing more stuff from already announced games to see if I'm still on board or not.
