I personally think that both Sony and Square just want this whole FF7 thing done with and behind them and this was the only way they could come up with to placate the fans. Will it suffice? Probably not.

yeah, it's same thing as the newer PC version (which has cheats and achievs) but on the ps4
they did another PC version a couple years ago or so, not the one from 1998

I get off work, settle down to check GAF, see FFVII announced for PS4, and then proceed to get an eyeful of the PC version. What a way to end the year.

I saw the title. I thought it had to be a troll... and I was right (in a way, it was square though doing the trolling and not the poster).
As much as I would love a re do of FFVII, I at this point have conceded it will never happen.
I wonder how much they'll really sell of this... (I can't expect there's a huge market of people who don't already have some other way of playing the original and honestly,I thought the PC port was done badly or at least I had heard that. I mean I got the PSX port on my Vita and I have the original CDs and a PS2 or PS3 that will play them).

I think that is another problem. I haven't followed the series or recent news to well till the recent FFXIII Steam launches peaked my interest and I started on VII. Someone mentioned in another thread "imagine if Valve did that with one of their games" - I can definitely see how people could be livid
