Is there any meaning of this smiley that involves a surprise Last Guardian?
Dammit. That pretty much confirms it.

It's over guys. Time to switch to waiting for That Game Company's upcoming title.

C'mon guys. I do belive it's comming, but I never expected tlg to show up at this event. Also, as much as I would have liked a sneak peak just to show it's not cancelled I also think that it would be a bad way to re-introduce the game. When it shows up again I want it to be a nice big trailer with a relese date on the end, and by the way yosp has been talking about the proper way to show the game again, I think we might get just this. It's sure is funny to see this thread on the main page after every sony event though

It must be super-frustrating for Mr. Yoshida to see a game that he personally vouches for...continue to be absent from the public.

Tons of people constantly hound him about the game, when its production problems really aren't his fault at all.

If the game is really dead, can the team please start working on something new?

"Team Ico" employees have been jumping from project to project at SCE Japan Studio.

The same guys HAVE NOT been working on the same project for 7-8 years.

Fumito Ueda is the only "permanent" Team Ico member, and he stated in the interview I quoted above that he's working on other projects besides TLG.

They will inevitably develop this game at the end of the ps4 generation, because the marketing is already done. Everyone will forever want this game, even if they say they lost any hope. But then it will arrive too late, the hype will be too much, the dissatisfaction will rise, the anger will eat us from the inside and we'll all burn in the infernal flames of TRICO....

Yup. He probably wants to show it to us just as much as we want to see it. It's a shame.

I believe it exists, just not in the same way. I did the math of average game development cycles in my head once, and it makes sense that they probably have started it from scratch. Probably on PS4. I think it exists.
but it still hurts every times she's not there ;_;

Yeah, Shu did say there was a problem with the structure of the game. They had to remake a lot of stuff for sure

I get that, I meant I was hoping the team could be reformed to give them a chance to do something new.

and how many have turned out well?
And we all know how Duke Nukem Forever turned out

There's also Alan Wake, FF15(looks good so far), Gran Turismo 5, Team Fortress 2. Probably a few others I can't remember which didn't turn out bad.

Don't know why people are so pessimistic about these things. Ico and Shadow were amazing, that team knows how to make such a game, and obviously they've had tech troubles but why would Sony just keep on lying and pretending the game is being worked on if it isn't, doesn't make any sense.

Yes it's taking a long time and has been rough but it's not that big of a deal, no more so than Half Life 3 which hurts just as much but I don't doubt it's going to be great if it comes out and I still think it's being worked on.

Told ya guys. 99% it wasnt there and it wasnt at all.

Let me help you, stop expecting a re-reveal of this game on every gaming event. It wont happen until someone at Sony says its done. When that is, is unknown. All you should remember its officially still being worked on and not cancelled so Y2Kev is 100% wrong whether he likes it or not.

It's all right, everyone.

I can explain how this all makes sense:

The reason why The Last Guardian hasn't been shown again is actually quite simple. You see, it had to wait for Guardians of the Galaxy to be released this year, and for Halo 5: Guardians to make it's official grand entrance next year, before it will be revealed. It's not called The Last Guardian for nothing.

Of course this is all subject to no other media being released from now till the end of time with the word 'Guardian' in the title.

If you don't think too hard about it, this makes complete and total sense. So dry your eyes, wipe the snot dripping from your noses with a hankie and smile. Next year it's totally happening. Trust me. I can feel it n my bones.

LMAO. I'm too high for this.

Part of me is happy to be spared the emotional roller coaster and eventual devastation when Trico dies (at the end or anywhere else in the game, as its pretty obvious that is where this is headed). That Penny-Arcade comic on this game's announcement is right. While it is terrible that this game may never come, at least this isnt going to happen to me:

I honestly can't tell if this is serious or not. Do people really care this much about a game we know barely anything about?

If that's true, then this game is the equivalent of Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense.

Add me to the group of skeptics. This prolonged affair is hurting Sony's image more than the awaiting target demographic. If this project really is so difficult, time-consuming, and ,costly the most rational option would be to divert effort into a more beneficial and efficient project. Yushida's ambiguous tweets aren't granting him any advantage.
