Bomba Driveclub? 34.99 Amazon

Awesome. I'd like to hear impressions from the weather update and then I'll probably bite.

Driving at night with a snowstorm and lightning is simply intense. Each corner you dread that you might miss it, but sometimes lightning will strike and you will see the track and thanks the heaven for bringing light to this poor mortal who is affronting the fury of nature in a slippery death coffin.

HEADS UP FOR BEST BUY GCU MEMBERS:

I actually just cancelled my Amazon order. I checked bestbuy.com and they have a pricematch guarantee on Drive Club. Going to stop by my local Best Buy today, price match it at $35, and use my GCU subscription for the 20% off. So we're talking $28 at Best Buy. Plus I'm fortunate enough to have $25 of Reward Zone credit sitting around... $3 Drive Club for me!

EDIT - Apparently you can't apply both PM and the GCU discount. I'll update this post if I experience anything different when I pick up my copy.

If i'm not mistaken, I thought price matching and GCU don't stack

Lol! Can't wait to try it out

I think this is right about where I'd consider this game purchasable. I really want a driving game for the PS4, and this looks like my best option. I say if you're in the same boat as me, jump in.

Is this game more arcadey or more sim? I prefer arcade-style racing games like Ridge Racer (6 and 7 are my favorite racing games) and Motorstorm, or futuristic like WipEout and F-Zero.

Would I like Driveclub?

It's a mix of arcade and sim. I think the best description is that it's similar to PGR or the arcade mode of Gran Turismo. It's certainly not Ridge Racer or F-Zero.

The jerks really showed up for this thread, didn't they?

I personally think it's worth $35. The game is about driving, not tuning, not customization, and not about exploring a big open world. It also doesn't hurt that it's a really good-looking game, or that the lighting and day/night transitions are amazing.

If you like the idea of replaying a course multiple times so you can shave a fraction of a second off of a particular turn, then this game is for you. (That's something I enjoy, personally).

It is somewhere between Ridge Racer and GT. It is a lot more forgiving than GT, but you can't race 100% arcade or you will lose. I think it is the best racing game I have played in years, was very happy with it and now that is works well, it is a must buy imo.

You can't PM AND get GCU discounts. Unless you trick them somehow.

I pre-ordered at full price and even when the online was broken, I still feel like I got my money's worth. Now, with the photo update and the weather update and working online, it's a no-brainer, especially at that price. Do it.

Put it this way - if you want to win, especially in the later stages, you have to follow the racing line & not attempt to floor it 100% and hoow you can drift through all the corners. That and the 'feel' of the cars are the 'sim' but.

The arcade bit is only cosmetic damage, overdone acceleration & braking, and a fairly forgiving handing model on most of the cars. Most.

It's also the absolute tits.

I know the retail reasons why, but *sigh* at the full price digital copy. Such a bummer. Might have possibly impulse bought if I could do digital.

Thanks for the heads up OP. Fixed online had put it back on my radar, and the weather patch looked great, couldn't resist at that price.

I paid $50 at launch digitally and DO NOT regret it at all. It was okay at first, then I took the suggestion to turn off the HUD and use the dash cam. It is a wonderful experience.

Then I bought a Playstation Gold headset on Black Friday, and that really upped the experience. I felt so immersed in the game, felt like I had better control of my car by hearing everything. Especially the tires, you could tell when you were not in control and when you were. Hard to explain but I love this game for the pure racing it gives, that urge to cut seconds off your time because you know you can do better than the last time.

If you like racing games this game is most likely going to be worth it. I can understand the hate the game got for the connectivity problems, but as a racer this game is golden.

I do wish Evo gets that PS+ Edition out soon for people to try because they really do have a great game here.

On a side note: My weather patch is stuck at 2.06/2.43 GB and will not fucking move, tried resetting ps4. Pause/stopped download, put it back into rest mode. I may try resetting router.

Tempted. I said I was going to wait until the photomode and weather patch were out to buy this game, but I also wanted a crack at the PS+ version first.

In for a copy. $40 is the price I was willing to pay, so $35 is quite nice. Would have liked a digital code, but I can live with a disk.

Tempting at that price, but I'm still going to wait for the PS+ version first as a lot of people seemed to be down on the way cars in the game handle/feel and I want to go hands on before spending money on it.

I guess I'm kind of the worst-case scenario for games that release a demo.

It remains absolute crap that the version of this that I paid for via my Plus sub is unavailable.

I don't care what improvements they've made, this company deserves to fold after this debacle.

Breath in...breathe out.

I'm as calm as could be. I just have no sympathy for a company mangling something promised to customers so badly.

S/he put the word 'free' in quotes in the original statement, meaning not the literal definition of the word. You're the one that missed the nuance. :lol

I didn't miss anything. It fits no definition of the word. Not a single literal or otherwise.

Driveclub Super Ultra Hyperbole edition.

Get a grip, buddy.

Got it for £25 on eBay sealed last week after all those cheap bundles in the UK sold.

Very much looking forward to a play tonight!

What hyperbole? The game was promised at release as part of PS+ and that was a major factor in my console decision. Over a year later and that promise is still unfulfilled even after that delay.

Company deserves to go under.

Your posts come across as very petulant.

Manners are free, you know.

If every company went under who broke a promise due to incompetence, there wouldn't be any corporations left on the planet.
