Yeah, I got a bad initial impression from some bad paintjobs, but the ones I got really have good paint.
Also I bought some Disney Infinity figures for Christmas.
I need a figurine display.

Truth is that I would love to see Nintendo make premium figures, I would buy most of them. But I will not hype myself waiting for it, the hype train crash afterwards would be too strong.

That would be nice , I'd like to see a Boss trophies wave that are bigger in size. Could consist of Ridley,Metal face,Yellow devil,"mom", Master+crazy and Master core.
 
.... I bought two amiibos when I bought Treasure Tracker yesterday. I feel dirty, all they are going to do is sit on my desk and never touch my gamepads RFI reader. Sorry Kirby and Princess Peach that's just how it is.

I only buy games that I'd actually play. I think the only good Smash Game is the 64 one. Hopefully nintendo makes a game that takes full use of the Amiibos until then I have no use for them.
 
Poor life decisions. I have all of wave 1 but Samus (which I will get at some point since she's not rare). Pay no attention to my husband's totally dweeby Warhammer 40k junk. lol

Also a comparison pic between my dorky Marth and my brother's fierce and goodlooking Marth. Eye placements make a lot of the difference (higher placed eyes look better), but my Marth's hair also seems to have a bad paint job going on:

I like dorky Marth, after all the jokes I would buy one just for fun. But I can't even find a regular one here.

Going to a retailer after work today...I hope they got some more in stock.

Last time I went there they only had Kirby/Yoshi/Peach left...I want Fox/Villager/Marth. D:

EDIT: Just called the manager, nothing until Wednesday (Maybe). :(
 
So it sounds like they AREN'T discontinuing those couple of figures...

That said, I'm sort of interested because of the functionality in other games (like Link in Hyrule Warriors), but I don't know if I should bother collecting all of these things or what. I don't (and never will) own Smash, so I have to consider that, too.
 
GAF, is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to order the three store exclusive amiibos from Amazon UK and have them shipped to the US? As far as I can tell, that would save me more on shipping than ordering from the three retailers individually...
 
I am not really sure why people are surprised. Did you think target was going to give them an entire aisle to fit all smash characters? Just this first wave took up a pretty big chunck of shelf space.

They plan on making around 45+ Amiibo for Smash alone. If some aren't selling/wont' be used again then there's not much reason to make more of them. With More Waves they need more free shelf space for more characters

So obviously people from NOA themselves have no idea, making Kotaku's article just as valid as the competing claims that they haven't discontinued amiibos.

I think it was form a store in a mall that was there seasonally (Toronto Eaton Center)? Definitely a "gaming and japan/asian stuff fan" type of store. It's no longer there though because they put in the new food court and changed everything.

Basically. I just wish they included those other replies as part of the article rather than making VGP the main source.
 
i'd probably care about these more if they didn't look like shit and had more than superficial purpose. unique costumes for smash would have been cooler than a useless cpu that i'll never use.

VGP was one source, and when they went to Nintendo to clarify Nintendo sure didn't deny it.

VGP? I thought they went to their distributor for the info like they did for the adapters (which are also not being discontinued anytime soon from various NoA replies).

Wow, Best Buy's buy 2 get 1 works on Amiibo's?! We should probably add that in the OT for this week. That's better then the Toys "R" Us deal last week.
 
Does anyone know when wave 2 is supposed to show up in NA/Canada? I was pretty sure it was the fifth, but the stores I talked to didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe this week instead?

EDIT: Wikipedia is listing the 14th.
