I saw that and it said there were 11 left but it wasn't letting me buy it
 
TRU had villager up online 12/6 and I just got an email that it shipped today. Ordered a Mario and Dk along with it though and those are still processing, hoping it actually is a villager in the mail (after I ordered I immediately went back to the product page and it said villager was unavailable so who knows).
 
FYI for UK peeps - Nintendo put up wave 3 amiibo's for pre-order on their official store today, and it looks like some more of older models are in stock (Including Marth and Wii Fit Trainer!).

Still no Kirby though.... :(

Of course not all Amiibos will get produced forever but their mistake was to underestimate the success of Amiibo (they were probably too cautious being afraid to have some left in their hands) but that's their bad judgment that made some already unavailable and it's not like they couldn't do something about it by producing a few more.
And it's like people were asking to give them money ffs, just make some Villager, MArth and Wii Fit Trainer already !

I hope what happens is that Amazon & Gamestop get online shipments of the hard to find ones and we don't see people making 7 accounts to get as many Marth amiibos as they can.

Really, what I wish they would do is take preorders for them online and then slowly fulfill them as they get shipments in. Would let fans get a chance to get the product instead of having to go to resellers.
 
Ordered marth and wii fit trainer. Not planning to start buying amiibos until next year but seeing as these are oop I thought I'd grap them now.
 
Just bought Villager and Wii Fit Trainer from Nippon-Yasan, but Marth is out of stock.

Any place where I can still order it?
 
I ordered a WFT from Gamestop over the weekend. I'm lukewarm on these things, but I kind of liked that one so I said what the hell. Now I find out its a rare one. I wonder if I'll get an email telling me my order couldn't be fulfilled?

Anyway, I want the Zelda one because I read that in Hyrule Warriors you can use her to level up weapons. Do I understand that right? Also, you'd think Zelda would be mainstream enough to not be rare, right? Do I need to get to GameStop later today and pre-order?

And finally, which ones coming out this month do some of you think will be hard to track down? I will keep an eye out in my area and let people know if I see any. I didn't see ANY Villager, Marth, or WFT when I checked around here on launch day. I knew they'd be harder to find, but I didn't think they'd be so elusive.

I just talked to a Nintendo distributor at Toys R Us today, who confirmed that they are still making Marth, Villager, and WFT. They're just not making that many, obviously. Basically, verified the tweet from Nintendo. They are NOT out of print.

And i talked to a DM at Gamestop who insisted they will not be receiving any more of those three. Stated there is no option for them to order them. It's been removed from their systems.

If you check most retailers online presence, the skus have been removed there as well.

As I've said before, preordering all the way from here on out.
 
Just realized in my two Wave 2 orders from BestBuy that I have a Pit in both and no Little Mac. I'm betting there's no way they let me edit my order right? Really would suck to have to cancel since I got in under the B2G1 glitch. $22 for 3 amiibos is too good :(
 
I have a question about the 'Retail Exclusive' amiibos, like Lucario. Would these particular amiibos still be sold at Nintendo World? Since it is their own store and I know in the past, they sold 'retail exclusive' stuff like Xenoblade. Just curious.

Also, to your point, LiK, if vendors can't order these things then based on that info it's pretty safe to say no more will be made. Nintendo can say all they want that they aren't discontinued but if distributors are being told they can't buy any from Nintendo, therefore stores can't get them... it's kind of the same thing.

Kinda glad I didn't buy any now.

All this is saying is that after they sell out of however many they made, that's it.

The problem is knowing how many they actually made and how fast shipments are going to come out of them. From the store employees I've spoken to, stores aren't even getting Marth/Villager/WFT in. One TRU I went to today, the guy said they literally had 1 Marth since launch and only 3 Villagers.

...I have all of Wave 1 now but Marth and Villager. Really needing another sale to get Wave 2 bought up.

Which means they're discontinued, dude. That's not spin. Both Kotaku and Wired apparently got confirmation FROM Nintendo PR. I would take the word of Nintendo PR over a rep from Nintendo who might not be clued in on decisions from higher ups.

So if they've already sold through what they have on hand, they aren't making anymore. That means they're discontinued. I'm not sure what isn't clear about what that means.
 
My Marth came today! I now have all of wave 1. Wave 2 and 3 pre ordered except Lucario and Rosalina.

When does Wave 2 hit?

I wonder if that's a Gamestop decision, though. Either way, true that pre-ordering is the safest bet. I've got em all locked down from various outlets except for Lucario atm.

i have all of the retailer exclusives locked down. Rosalina is an import but i'll get the US one whenever she's up. might want another just in case one of them is defective.
 
This whole Marth thing is really turning me off of Amiibo's. All I wanted was to buy the Amiibo's of the characters I liked. So this on top of the exclusive retailer Amiibo's and the randomness of quality on some of these Amiibo's is making me want to just return the 10 that I have. They're unopened and I still have the receipts.

Come on Nintendo. Let me give you money. But you have to meet me half way.
 
Man it's been more than 2 weeks at this point and I still haven't gotten my Yoshi amiibo from Toys R Us (shipped by UPS Ground)

Really worried it got lost in the mail or something. It should've been here by now and the tracking # I got doesn't even work. :(

Really hope my Cap Falcon ships first class from them like Villager. Shipping type seems to be totally random with them.
 
Ok so wave 2, I have Zelda, Mac, Cpt.F pre-ordered because those are the ones I actually wanted.

I wonder who will become the 'rare' ones of that group, I bet its stupid Pit so I will have to get him straight away wont I? :|

Wave 3 doesn't bother me too much as there are SO MANY AWESOME ONES that I'm almost getting them all to start with anyway lol.

Did you get a notice it was backordered but then it shipped? I ordered when it said it was available but then got a backordered notice and that's where it sits. I also ordered on 12/6.

Same, and I want them to be of actual quality. Marth is embarassingly bad.

On the same boat, I only have one amiibo but most of the ones I want are the ones I know aren't going to be mass produced (Fire Emblem) so I feel like I should just stop bothering with these things.

Err if you really want them doesnt it mean you should pre-order them?

These amiibo are just for smash bros. Nintendo's going to release another amiibo line for a different hub game again rechurning some of the same characters again...

So of course quite a few are going to be limited

Smash is the hub game, the games they announced are the ones where the amiibo unlocks something.

The next hub game will have to use a different amiibo than the smash amiibo you have unless you overwrite the data on the NFC chip erasing your smash bros character

Never got a backorder notice. Got"order acknowledgement" email and "order confirmation" email on the 6th, and then a "shipment confirmation" email today.
