Any news on a potential neogaf tourney? I might have missed it. Oric did such a good job on the 3ds one I was hoping he would put together the wii u one

Ah, I see :) Good point.

Still, that would mean I'd have to pay attention :P When playing as DK, I can get the 500 combo pretty much blindly now.
 
God expletive dammit am I tired of striking out on both types of orders when a hammer spawns next to my opponent/s, I think that's two consecutive crazy order runs in a row ended by the mighty mallet.
The BS that can and will occur in this games single player modes are enough to knock down the whole package for me, getting flung out on a relatively low percentage on All Star run because Gamer turned up, almost perfect classic mode runs foiled by that one bomb that just spawns in front of your smash attack, throwing dragoon, daybreak and smash balls all into the same matches, it's positively maddening at times.
Yeah it's a smash staple at this point having those wacky items in your single player modes but now with the abundance of overpowered items, killer stage hazards (as well as just plain annoying stages like Skyworld) and the CPU's newfound love of more powerful than ever counters it's gone to the next level of grief.
And my DK still suuuucks.

I just got home with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, after having traded in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Grand Theft Auto V and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

This is also my first Smash Bros game and the first time I'll get to play it.

It's a little excited and I can't wait to find out, which character I'll go with. And see if I can even understand the basics of the gameplay. At least I have a lot of time from Thursday - Monday to practice and get into it.

I have an idea of which characters I'll try out first unless they're locked away: Villager, Mega Man and maybe Pikachu. I see Duck Hunt Dog is locked away.

But this feeling of it being the first time I'm playing Smash Bros...

I'm planning to host one but it wouldn't be set up until next month.

I had an interesting idea for tournament but I'm not sure how I would able to make it happens.

I don't want to start tourney during Christmas season.

I'll know by tomorrow if I can do another one soon. I'm finishing up some commissioned work for a comic book that has been really eating my time up, but I'm hoping to finish it this afternoon! So yeah, I'll have an update on that soon.
 
I'd like to enter a tournament, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Me entering would probably keep someone else out and I'd basically be a joke entrant considering I don't even play this game.

The update can't come soon enough, once I can play with GAF folks without having to deal with a friends list (you know, like Mario Kart did at release) I'll probably actually start playing. I haven't even unlocked all the characters yet. Don't remember if I got all the stages...
 
Hwy, anyone wants to play team smash? If yes, pw me gow to add someone as friend on the Wii U (no laughs). I'm online for the next hour or so. EU player here

Let's schedule an hour or so together and I will help you with DK. Some match ups/people are completely beyond me but I just might be able to help you out. Voice chat a little before the match and PM's on the ready should be all we need.

It's how the 50-fact video made it sound, almost just like Mario Kart communities. Set rules and open it up, and people can join.

But yeah, they didn't really explain it in any detail, so I guess there are concerns on how limited the options are. Now you've got me thinking it might end up being disappointing.
