I just had an awesome set of matches against a really good Blue Yoshi player in For Glory. I was Zelda and we stuck with same characters for atleast 10 matches. It was a fun little rivalry we had going on!

wiccked love when that happens. If smash got one thing right was begin able to replay people in for glory. thought was going to be like other rank games where opponent switches each match
which is also good for its own reasons

Played against a Toon Link back in the 3DS version and went for like 20 matches. I normally switch in For Glory but I stuck with Wario against him, he was great.

I was playing as Megaman against this For Glory Lucina.

- She is up in the air trying to land, I am on the ground
- I decide to use Megaman's forward smash to predict where she'll land
- I fail the read, she lands behind me where the charged blast will fly the opposite direction
- I continue to charge the forward smash, because my heart is telling me it will hit
- She runs up to Megaman from behind
- The charged blast's hitbox is big enough to hit her right next to Megaman, killing her

Wow, I got incredibly lucky with that Metroid Smash Tour challenge. I gave it my first dedicated effort last night with a 25-turn game on the small board. Toward the end of the game, the Metroid spawns right next to me, steals my stats, moves such that it travels through a few warp pipes... and ends up back where it started: right next to me. Bam.

I dunno how I got so lucky considering all the horror stories I've heard about this challenge, but I certainly won't question it! Between that and the fact that I finally bit the bullet and suffered through Master Fortress a few times to beat Classic on 8.0 with three characters, I now finally have all the music unlocked! I'll probably record a video of the final My Music list soon.

Still haven't been able to get the "Land the last blow on a boss in Smash Tour" challenge, though. Setting up a multiplayer game by yourself doesn't work because the match ends automatically when three players are KO'd. Anyone know of a good way to do that one without actually having people around or having to deal with the dickish AI?

Just for the fun :3

I just can't do the Classic 9.0 ones. Had no trouble with Jigglypuff on 3DS, or when I do make it to the end I lose to Master Fortress. :(

How and what do you recommend on clearing those challenges?

Thanks ! I think there are 55 headgear, so yeah I guess you should hammer that one.

48 in the record

Gah. I'll check what I have in the records and hold out for as long as I can, but yeah, looks like I might need to hammer that one. Still trying to figure out which skill-based ones I should hammer, as I'm just not good enough to not have a ton of trouble with Classic 9.0 and hard All-Star. :(

Actually I did the classic without customisation with Jigglypuff :p . Once you know the level design of the Master Fortress, it's probably the easiest form of the Master Core, you can watch some videos how is the level

I hate your guts about that Metroid.

Of my two experiences with bosses (Yellow Devil and Metal Face), it is very possible to do it with four controllers.

The first was Yellow Devil and I was Fox. YD is not aggressive at all and none of his attacks have any real launch power at low % so theoretically you can just go nuts on him and get the challenge. I would've got it that time but with Fox his u-tilt and up smash don't reach, so you have to use jump attacks to hit YD. The problem was he had so many "Jump" bonus stats from the Tour he jumped too far away!!

I finally got it when Metal Face attacked. He went to the right side while the player characters were to the left. Metal Face also doesn't aggressively attack the group after the initial laser beam that breaks a platform. I lucked out and he attacked the opposite side so I just ran over and up smashed with the occasional air dodge.

I think Ridley might be the only difficult one to do with four controllers since he needs so many hits to kill, though that may be different for Smash Tour. I never ran into him so I'm not sure. One the bright side the stage is plenty big so there's lot of space for them to fall on if they get hit.

Am I missing something or is there no way to hit the sandbag 3280 ft. while playing solo?

I can't even get close.

Do Ganondorfs down or forward tilt like 5 times it will bounce to the back of the glass enclosure then do the same thing facing the other direction. Leave the bat. Do a reverse Warlock Punch and scratch one challenge.

Anyone got any tips with KO'ing your Rival 4 times in Rival Smash? 3 times as Diddy didn't seem so bad and now with DK, Bowser or Little Mac it seems impossible. Should I just go with Diddy again?

Really? I did it with DK pretty easily, although he has been one of my most used characters since 64...

When using DK, try to get underneath a platform the rival is on and then spam up tilts to easily get around 55-60% from 0 on him. CPU DK is extremely predictable with recovering from the ledge so it's very easy to hit with a forward smash and his air normals do not defend him very well from an Up-air from below.

I ended up getting this challenge by accident while going for the 85 score challenge so don't be totally single minded on fighting the rival and let him get beat up by the Miis as well. He actually leaves you alone a good deal of the time you aren't actively attacking him so you can take advantage of that with an up smash while he's focusing on worthless Mii mobs.

But basically if there's ever a moment the rival is on one of the two side platforms, get underneath and spam up tilt because the CPU is too stupid to do a reliable escape from that without the platform screwing it up. If it starts to fall through, get some distance and he'll focus on Miis again which leave him open to punishment.

Its mostly the walls that can kill at over 100% that get me during Master Fortress. Well i'll keep at it. I know i'll get it eventually.

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place or not to ask

But what is the best way to get customisation moves for your characters? I've been letting my Amiibo battle each other and then hoping they'll bring them back as treasures but I've done it for about two hours now and only received about five or so custom moves.

I'm not annoyed since my Amiibo are training themselves up too, but I just want to unlock as much as possible so I can start tweaking my own characters

Engage the Enemy? Engage the Enemy, therefore GOAT sound selection.

The original version of the track is fine. Putting the arrangement into a medley with awful transitions is less defensible.

And it had a million Mario songs too. A million of everything. Not sure what your point is, considering I was talking about new tracks.

EDIT: In fact, that's part of my point that I feel works against this game--it leans rather heavily on content from past Smash Bros. games to fill in holes.

There's nothing wrong with using arrangements from previous games to cover the gaps in the selection of music; but the approach taken here was bizarre. If they had already decided to bring back Brawl and Melee's entire soundtracks, why is the only new F-Zero arrangement another Mute City remix? Why take both overworld themes from ALBW while reusing their previous Smash arrangements and creating another two? Why are there eight versions of DK Island Swing? I don't have any problem with the reuse of content in itself, but the specific implementation in this game creates so much redundancy - if you're using reused content to cover the standard staples of the represented games, use the resources you have to create new versions of pieces that haven't been arranged in the series before, filling the gaps with rips of other notable music new to the series. In most cases, there's too many pieces worthy of inclusion to octuple up on a single song.

I've found that going through Classic Mode is a decent way to farm for them. If you get good at the prize spinner, you can reliably get 1-3 customs per round (plus any ones that fighters drop). Playing Classic can be a little tedious if you don't like the multi-way Smash battles, though.

I found that doing All Star with a particular character seem to make that character's moves drop more frequently. I finished off the last 2-3 Yoshi moves I was missing when doing a few runs of Hard Mode tonight.

I'm starting to get better at Smash lol, I'm good with Toon Link due to his up smash and his interesting special attacks, but you tend to need to be precise with them. I like Shulk too due to his sword being pretty long but it takes time to charge. His modes are pretty cool and make up for it however. I tend to use shield and Buster a lot. I actually tried Ganondorf and I was pretty decent with him, slow but strong. Same for Bowser, but less interesting moves I feel. I was also pretty decent with Pit, the first character I started getting better with. I'm starting to get better, but panic in the heat of the battle and it can be a pain to choose a new character and having to learn them all. I get frustrated when I lose so I need to improve on that.

That's definitely a fair way to look at things. There are quite a few redundant songs in the game, a lot of questionable sourcing for direct rips (the new direct rips for Metroid come entirely form Other M and Hunters, what the actual fuck), and it's not terribly balanced for some series either--Mario has approximately as many new remixes as it did in Brawl yet Donkey Kong gets four total, two of which are redundant Jungle level remixes. There's a lot of really strange musical decisions in the game.

duh obviously he's not in.
being saved for dlc. #IStillBelieve

I believe it. 2 GS tracks. Cut assist. No GS trophies. Something up. Camelot's Anniversary also on April 4th. Announcing GS4 alongside Isaac DLC for Smash 4 would be super great.

It's the whole 4 thing. April even the 4th month of the year.

lol

They still have to release a Golden Sun 3 though before they get to 4.

Joking. Was disappointed with Dark Dawn. They even put DD's mere decent overworld song as a track in this game instead of a battle theme.

I dunno why they didn't go for the Boss Battle Theme or even Saturos Battle Theme. :/
