Oh, so you're saying these might not be the actual character designs? I'm not super familar with modern anime's marketing spiel so I'm not sure how it works.

The Disney movie dubs were clearly a rush job, and he had just quit voice acting, so his absence there isn't a surprise at all.

I'd like to think it's an intentional contrast where they have the muted colors in the school uniform juxtaposed with more colorful attire when they enter the digital world, that way the latter comes off like a "better than normal life" sort of thing to the audience. I can only use Tsuritama as a reference point but the artist did a good job bringing color into the mix with a variety of clothes.

What if they time-travel back to different versions of Digimon World, thus assuming their old attires, bodies but retaining their present selves. That way, they could also retcon whatever romance pairings you weirdos don't agree with. Actually, I guess that'd only work if they met their old selves. Tai would try and prevent Sora x Matt.

I never understood what TK's hat was supposed to be. Always looked like something out of Dragonball.
I was thinking about that recently. Compared to Digimon, P&D's monsters and "lore" feel completely random. It's as if Digimon was made for the genre.
Anyway, really loving the art style. Not overly excited by the fact that the original staff doesn't appear to be involved (at least in key roles), but I'm still cautiously optimistic. Bandai is still involved, and considering their last few moves with the franchise, I'm positive that they have a good vision on where this should go. Looking forward!
