Don't drink eggnog, then drink soda.

You gotta get Hood egg nog gurlfran! I suppose you would feel sick drinking it out of a cub.

If eggnog didn't give me the worst case of gas this side of the sun I would drink it in gallons.

So delicious.

Love egg nog, but seeing as how it's pretty much like ingesting many eggs at once I steer clear of it. I usually settle for the Silk dairy-less egg nog, and it tastes fine (if a bit thin). It's also only 70 calories per serving too, which is a plus.

I once slowly poured a can of Coca-Cola into a glass of rum cream and that shit turned into an eruption of foam. Good thing I mixed the ingredients into a glass rather than my stomach. Mixing coke with egg nog has the same effect I'm sure.

I don't know how people drink Eggnog with alcohol mixed in. I do love eggnog tho. It brings on the best farts.

Are you allergic to eggs or do you not like the taste of eggs? Because it tastes nothing like eggs even though it's made with them, unless you hate cake too.

I like eggs fried or in baked goods... I even like eggs mixed into rice porridge. The problem is (I totally this is completely mental) I become visibly sick at the awareness of raw egg taste or egg taste in general. The thought that I might even taste raw egg in something turns me off. It's a strange texture/taste combination.

How can people not taste the egg in eggnog, yet alone custard or French toast? I like all 3 and they all taste hella eggy.

Never tried egg nog before and last night I made my own.

Tasty as fuck. Everyone loved it and thought it would be a bit gross. I'll be making more on Christmas day.

Ingredients

4 cups milk
1 cup sugar
12 large egg yolks
1/2 cup bourbon, (optional)
1 cup chilled heavy cream
Grated nutmeg, (optional)

Directions

In medium saucepan, whisk milk and sugar over medium heat until sugar is dissolved, 1 to 2 minutes. In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks. Whisking constantly, pour hot mixture into yolks in a slow and steady stream.

Return mixture to pan; cook over medium-low heat, stirring often, until thick enough to coat back of spoon, 20 to 25 minutes; do not let simmer. Quickly strain into a bowl. Stir in bourbon, if desired, and cream. Cool completely; cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate until chilled. Garnish with nutmeg, if desired.
I'll try this sometime, here in Brazil we have something similar called "gemada", it's just egg yolk mixed with sugar, it's tasty as fuck.

I love eggnog. I try not to drink a lot of it, because it's incredibly fattening, but I've been trying several brands since Thanksgiving. Turkey Hill or Giant store brand are the best I've found.

I think I tried to mix Advocaat (alcoholic eggnog) with Red Bull once because I was already drunk and wondering what it would taste like. It basically curdled in the glass, not the kind of thing you want going down in your stomach.

I've been wanting to try Advocaat. How is it on its own?

Is advocaat like eggnog then? That was popular in the UK in the 70s-80s, not sure if it still is. A snowball was advocaat and lemonade (with a cherry in), so that would be like eggnog + soda.

I thought you were supposed to add a good amount of some sort of alcohol to eggnog, so that the raw egg mixture can be sterilized.

I have two bottles of Trader's Point Creamery Eggnog in the fridge. Stuff is liquid gold.

But what OP did is completely insane.

Why would you drink soda when there's eggnog available?
Eggnog is incredible.

I didn't know some people's bodies reacted negatively to eggnog.

I can drink as much as I want (sometimes I would drink a carton a day) and suffer no side-effects.

Same. The only foods or beverages that affect me like that are ones that are actual laxatives, like sugar alcohols or prunes.

Never tried the stuff, couldn't get past the smell. I also cannot handle milk so have to use lactaid due to the dairy giving me liquid shits. Catching a whiff of this stuff makes me think I will get the liquid shits. Maybe I should try it at a party and see what happens.

Eggnog and pizza is what fucked you up mostly likely:

Tons of dairy, even if you tolerate it, that's massive amounts of dairy.

I'm lactose tolerant and drink milk regularly, but when I have milk and cheese in one day, that destroys me.

This is what I was thinking when I read the OP. lol

Eggs, milk, and a bunch of cheese yet OP's first instinct was "it must have been the carbonation in the soda having a chemical reaction with the nog I drank a half hour ago".

i'm down for some eggnog but it has to be the light variety. there are also some alternative types made from soy or almond milk which are lighter.

sure, i could drink regular eggnog cause the taste is mighty fine with me, but only for about one glass per event i guess. Though... I would really rather not, cause it's worse than drinking full sugar soda, like way worse.

so mixing them both? your body hates you for one. and yeah, the stomach stuff doesn't sound so hot either.

agree on the lactose conversation. may want to check into that.

It's a thing, you can try it for yourself or watch this video... yet your first instinct was to make an ignorant comment.

Or to quote some random internet guy...

"The reaction of phosphoric acid (V) to proteins in the milk - they are cut and causes a precipitate The reaction of phosphoric acid with calcium contained in milk gives rise to a precipitate
3Ca + 2H3PO4 ///\\\ Ca3(PO4)2 + 3H2"

Real home made egg nog is amazingly good and tastes nothing like the stuff you can buy in cartons at the grocery store (which I like in small amounts but it's not everyone's taste).

I'm also in the 30+ camp and have never had eggnog. I had a eggnog milkshake from McDonalds once, but that was a bad idea and I imagine probably wasn't really indicative of it either way. Maybe this will be the year I finally try it! Where we live we have that Southern Comfort brand, I don't think I recognize any of the others.

If was going to mix it, what's an easy beginners one that won't get me wasted, just eggnog + rum? Equal amounts?
