I'm buying DMC4 and ignoring DmC, it's not a bad game but I want DMC5 and not DmC2.

the gameplay tweaks seem interesting potentially- it might actually get close to real DMC status with the right kinda tweaks. the stuff they listed is definitely a good step in the right direction.

Wow, that sounds amazing actually. Good on them for acknowledging most of the issues people had with the game mechanically. I might actually get this despite owning the PC version.

I'm probably going to only get DMC4 because I honestly can't stand going through DmC's head-up-its-own-ass story again. At least DMC4's bad story can be counter balanced by Dante having all of the swag in the second half of the game.
I really respect the updates made to DmC and it's nice to see Capcom seemingly acknowledge that DmC wasn't up to snuff with the rest of the franchise. But at the same time it only makes me clamor for a new proper Devil May Cry 5 that much more. That and I want to show my support to Itsuno Devil May Cry and not Tameem May Cry.
It inches DmC closer to being more like the other DMC games and by extension more like DMC4.

Well, Capcom did say they were making more f2p games for consoles in a financial presentation and "online" kind of fits with that.
EU blog post says 40 Euros so most likely it is a discounted price.
It's a shame that we had to wait 2 years for this. This is how the game should've been released from day 1... so much headache would've been relieved.

Who the hell is going to be watching any cutscene again? I have S ranked both of those games on DMD mode, no need to watch those cutscenes again at all.

Why not DMC 3 (or 4)? and Dragon Dogma
Hopefully it's because Itsuno is working on an actual sequel to Dogma.
Also, DMC4 remaster is announced.
I hope these do well enough to fund another DMC game, whether it's old Dante or new Dante, I just want more DMC.
I wonder if Capcom will include Legendary Dark Knight difficulty in the remaster like the PC version has

I hope so. I loved DmC. I love everything NT's made though so I'm maybe a little biased. That and I've never liked the DMC franchise until that game. Hopefully some of the cash this makes can go into Hellblade development.I hope this also means the possibility of DmC2
Some of this new content is from mods, so it's already there. Not all, it seems..

Oh man, thought I wasted money on the collection, but this is that other one. I paid like $5 for DMC4 though so I have no problem with that.

I wasn't a fan of DMC (the Ninja Theory one) but I'll buy that and DMC4 (Which I love) again just for the chance of a new DMC game.

You make no sense.
Naughty Dog ported TLOU to PS4 themselves and yet they have Uncharted 4 coming out next year. Crystal Dynamics have will 2 games out within 12 months and yet they ported Tomb Raider to current gen consoles. United Front Games has a new game coming out next year even though Sleeping Dogs DE came out this year. Capcom, although clearly struggling to fund new console/PC games, has at least 3 games (not including handhelds) coming out next year.
In case you didn't realize this by now, these ports aren't erasing or replacing anything. Think before you complain about games you don't have to buy.
Not sure what the issue is with remasters in general. They're easily ignored, low-risk, and probably provide a nice cash bump for funding a true sequel. They don't necessarily come at the expense of a true sequel.
The scary part here is if they're using sales as a barometer, as DmC has more relative improvements and it a newer game, so it seems to have an inherent advantage.

Clearly its just impossible to please some people. I'm really glad there seems to be extra effort going into this remaster.
And your logic still makes no sense. By that rule, the only DMC you should have ever bought is DMC1, everything else is "just the imitator". Including Bayonetta, lol.
DmC's combat system has its own flaws and it also had flaws that made it miss the mark of the DMC standards. These improvements make it a better game, and a better DMC game as well, but the combat will still play nothing like DMC4. And the levels and the visuals will be nothing like DMC4. So why would you say to someone: "buy DMC4 instead", when the gameplay and the visuals are both vastly different?
Bro. The Nevan weapon cutscene in DMC3 always warrants a view. Most of Dante's cutscenes in DMC4 are hilarious as fuck. I always stop to watch them.
