I had a thought that is horrible for collectors

There may be two ROB amiibo. The US/European default skin and the Japanese default skin
 
just got back from toys r us, asked the lady and she said they were sold out of luigi. NOOOOO. I was just there monday night and saw zero luigi's. dammit. She said they get shipments wednesday nights so best to call thursday to see, whats new.

btw my mom leaves for work at 7am and told me to get a girlfriend lol

Are there people trying to collect complete sets for all regions?? One region is hard enough, I couldn't imagine multiples.
 
Where else is Rosalina available other than Target? Want to get a preorder in somewhere as a fallback in the off chance it doesn't come back in stock through them.
 
I pre-ordered Toon Link and Megaman. Just waiting for Ness, DHD and maybe Game and Watch or Ganondorf then I'm done! Done I tell you!

Play Asia has it for 19 bucks and comes to 29 total, not bad when it comes to 17 total at some places, what is 12 more bucks compared to dealing with scalpers

For something like the ROB where there is a physical difference with the figure, I could see myself trying to acquire both. Otherwise, the only difference I can tell is the boxes and in that case I'm just trying to acquire all of the NA ones.

Rosalina is Target exclusive in the US. If you are outside that, you have plenty of options I believe. There is also importing.

I was looking at them on GAME UK's website to see what the difference was... looks like in the top right corner they're all numbered and on the top left corner under the "Smash Bros" logo they say "Smash Bros Collection" where the North American amiibos just say "6+" in the top right corner and under the "Smash Bros" logo in the top left corner it just has the character's name.

Ah, fair enough! Yeah the one with the Famicom color scheme is definitely sexier than the NES grey.

It's a Target exclusive, so it's not available anywhere else in North America.

Edit: I guess that only matters if you care about box/packaging uniformity. Otherwise importing is your only other option :(
 
How rare do we think Captain Falcon will be in the states? Is it worth pre-ordering it through Amazon UK to be sure? or may he be the next Zelda with plenty on the shelves?

Ya. I noticed the same...Seems acceptable to me, I'm going to pick Rosalina up from Amazon.de :)
 
Just a heads up in case anyone is having trouble finding Wave 3 figures in the US for preorder:

I can't check the site at work, so they might still be available there, but try going into a physical gamestop store and have a clerk try to make the pre-order for you. I pre-ordered all of the wave 3 amiibos yesterday (except Ike, Megaman and Shulk which I had done the day prior).

I'm dropping this in because TRU.com is now sold out of Ike and King Dedede pre-orders. Those two in particular are becoming the new rares I think and I was still able to order Dedede instore at gamestop yesterday. Just food for thought.

Yeah that makes sense. I likely won't go out of my way for non-North American ones, but I really do like the Famicom color scheme. If it's not stupid-hard to try to get that one, I may look into it!

Hah, probably speculators/resellers buying up the pre-order stock.
 
Anyone know when the credit card hold for Target preorders releases? Or do they charge you right away? I haven't used Target.com in a long time.
 
I'm just going to keep telling myself that there's no way Rosalina is already fully sold out.
Not when Meta Knight is just hanging about on Best Buy....even if he is the weakest of the exclusive bunch.
 
Just about to buy a few of these from Tesco... think I'll get Samus, Fox and Link to start with. Probably followed by Captain Falcon, Toon Link and Zelda... god damn it, I really wasn't bothered about these initially.
 
I can't believe I missed Rosalina. My spirit is broken.

I'll be at Target 8am on release day and I'll sit right down in the Nintendo aisle until someone comes by to stock the amiibo shelf. :(
