New GTA5 patch improves controls and fixes tree animation

This isn't true. There's still more delay in the buttons/triggers than there was on PS3. I tested the shooting earlier today with the latest patch installed and the trigger didn't register a shot until it was back in its original position.

Yup. :(

It's especially annoying when flying a chopper.

Then something is wrong with your PS4 and/or DS4.

Just quickly tried the new controls and it's way tighter. I wasn't terribly bothered by the way it felt before, but this is a very nice improvement.

Wow, considering how fast they fixed this after we started making noise, has Sony's certification process for patches changed or something ? Because in the old days of the PS3, it would have taken weeks or a month before Rockstar could have released this patch.

The moving trees are pretty nice. I must admit they add quite a bit to the atmosphere

Edit: holy shit the homing launcher doesn't require level 100! So awesome

hey Lukas, any good tips for a third person view controls?

I will be playing in that mode the majority of time.

Deadzone = 0
?
?

If I understand correctly, this patch addresses the dead zone issue, but doesn't actually address the input lag. Is the overall game still laggier than the PS3 version, or did they actually fix the input lag?

I need to confirm this but the input lag seems to be on par with the ps3 version now. It might be placebo effect on my part but the driving feels more responsive. I don't have time to do a side by side comparaison to prove it 100%.

Now this is what I like to hear, good customer service. I hope they also heard about the odd frame dips whilst driving in the city. If they fix that all will be golden.

These predictable, ubiquitous posts like "LOL, works fine on my copy, must be your TV or your wireless controller" need to stop, now. This happens every time we're dealing with laggy controls. Just admit that you aren't as perceptive as many of us.

I just dressed Trevor like the joker. Wish i could put white facepaint on him

This massaging of the control scheme is a game changer for me. I double-dipped mainly for the refined graphics and the first-person mode, and frankly found it unplayable for long periods of time (read: > 5 mins).

With the controls adjusted similarly to the OPs I can now play it completely in first person mode. Well, that's not completely true. I do swap to 3rd person for driving, but that's only because I like to see more around me.

Once I got everything adjusted I hopped (read: carjacked) into a porche and drove along the coast to the Northern side of the island. Along my ride it began to rain--which totally put a smile on my face--and small puddles of water began to collect all about. I just had to pull over to take it all in. I notice the puddles were not just forming on the roads, but also in the grassy areas too. I walked over to the end of a puddle-filled cliff overlooking the beach and cowered at the massive storm which looked like it was barreling in to the mainland. I slowly panned around admiring the amazing attention to detail thinking this game is gorgeous!

I then turned around to go check out a nearby building and suddenly a fucking truck runs off the road, hits me at top speed and sent me flying into the water killing me.

Perfect, GTA. Perfect.

Still doesn't fix the horrid input lag though :/

It's better in first person, but still unplayable to me. I still can't drive cars without running into everything.

It's really strange that some people are having this extreme case of input lag.. Makes me think it has a lot to do with the TV, because this isn't common.

But... if someone is saying they can't drive cars without running into everything... That seems like a pretty extreme case here. Generally, everybody has described GTA's car controls are too twitchy and too responsive... so it's weird to hear someone say that the controls are so laggy that they're crashing into things and can't drive

I've definitely experienced the dead zone and fast accelleration on X1... Especially with michael's special ability, there is a large degree in the middle of the stick where moving it does nothing, and then you hit this one radius and it flies up the screen. But... I dunno if that's input lag or the deadzone.

You console people are still beta testing my PC game, thanks guys!

I'm glad they got this sorted relatively fast though after the complaints started popping up, didn't really expect them to do anything about the controls.

they are just playing the game since the last years.dont worry you cant make your benchmarks and unistall the game after that

Maybe they're just using auto-aim. I know that's what I did because manual aiming was a pain.

Nice one. I honestly didn't think they'd bother fixing the controls. I didn't have much of an problem with it myself, with my superior sloth like reactions, but I know it was a major issue for guys in the other thread.

Yeah, dead-zone zero, acceleration max, and then just tweak your sensitivity until you find what feels best.

Also, has anyone noticed how the reticule very slightly sticks to NPC's when you aim from left to right over them while using free-aim? I never noticed that before and wonder if it's just been added with the latest patch.

Is all the festive stuff available in SP too? I haven't played online yet for whatever reason. I think I'm just waiting for my friends to get it on xmas.

So far the stuff released online has been available in Single player as well. Though not the thing about owning multiple properties. Apartment ownership is GTA Online only.

I'm talking people who watch the videos that clearly depict huge deadzones, janked acceleration, and major lag, and say "none of that is happening on my setup". And then of course they don't POST A FUCKING VIDEO.

Thanks!

Can't wait for this weekend!

No one is saying that in this thread dude, please don't drag the trash of the last deadzone/input delay thread into this one, k thanks.

I enjoy video games on both my home video game consoles and my personal computer.

Does everyone love me or does everyone hate me?

Now I just really want to get home and try these new control settings out.
