I have been lurking here most of the Time, but i will be sad not to come home Fridays, watch the new Episode, and then immediatly come here to see what you Guys think about what happend, and make up new Theories about upcoming Events. It's been a ride, and i am happy that could watch it go to the End.

Thanks Guys.

you should have joined in man. We welcome new members here with open arms.

Unless you're a Makorra fan.

Which is why Mikasa is drawn so distinctly Asian. Same with Roy Mustang, Ling, Lan Fan, and Lan Fan's grandfather (I keep wanting to call him Gen Fu or Gan Fall. Both are wrong) in Fullmetal Alchemist.

lol but in the movie, everyone is Asian. I get that, it's just actors acting. But it's strange to have Mikasa have a specific plot line that draws attention she's the only Asian lineage left, and yet everyone is Asian.

I guess it's probably just a practical thing. But damn.

Pretty much everyone hates Makorra at this point lol

Man I miss Ghazan. He was my boy. Now he dead.

Yay, now there are 2 members of the Ghazan fan club.

Yeah I can see that. Roy Mustang to a lesser extent when compared to Ling and his subjects.

I can't remember where, but I read (I think it was on Wikipedia, so grain of salt and all that) that Roy was whatever that world's equivalent of Japanese is. That's the way he was drawn, anyway. And he is an orphan, so we never find out anything about his parents, other than Madame Christmas, but she's his adoptive mother.

Edit: Damn Hamlet that's a way better gif

Man, Ghazan was the chillest of bros.

Like, all of the Red Lotus members were really cool.

Yup.

And we will never see them again. Because in LoK, the ideal thing to do once you set up a really cool plot point is to ignore it so you can use Earth Hitler.

Gahzan being apart of a fanatic group and being an enemy didn't match his persona. Which is why I wished they had delved into the backstory of Zaheer and his followers.

I doubt every single Red Lotus member was chill, these guys were probably the baddest of the bad/coolest of the cool and they were all killed or captured. Rest of the red lotus we saw were henchmen and they really had no personality.

But agreed on the stupidity of setting up red lotus only to never use them again.

Ghazan just wanted peace and really didn't want to go back to prison.

Pretty sure he wanted to take Ming Hua and live on a farm somewhere.

Or at least, it's what I wanted.

I will be on a train with most likely crappy wifi when the finale debuts. I'm not expecting much. I just hope it provides decent closure. Will probably watch it sometime tomorrow.

I lurked here for awhile, but it was fun talking for a bit. Even that earlier discussion on canon... save for when it got into analogies about baking. That was beyond me.

When you see it, run in fear.

5 hours right?

So we think. Just watch, Nick will fuck this up. It won't go up on their site on time. Shit will crash. Haha. Trainwreck season ends with a trainwreck finale. Trainwreck series goes out with a trainwreck being streamed.

It's like poetry, it rhymes.

I usually watch before I go to work. Last week's delay pissed me off. I ended up watching it at work.

I'll have to sleep early so I can wake up and watch this before work tomorrow.

I'm actually pretty excited for the Avatar Community Thread. I've got some fan art I'm working on that will need a place to post once its done.

Who's making the thread, btw? Azula?

Yeah I will.

I think I'll wait like a week. Just so, people can have this thread to get all their thoughts and feelings out on the finale. And also, just kind of say goodbye. Some people are not going to be continuing in the community after this is over (Satch said she's out).

I'm sure others will. Even if I 100% hate the finale, I will still make it and be active. Because I still love the Avatar series on a whole. And would gladly do re-watches of ATLA + Korra. So yeah.

The community thread will probably be a lot more positive too I think. I think at a certain point, even if you don't like something, there becomes that acceptance phase. Plus, when it's all over, we can look back at all the things we liked. So. I'm excited.

I do think re-watching ATLA together (like we are watching it live week to week), and then easing into Korra will make for a positive experience.

Final two episode of Korra should be up in about 4 hours on Nick. I hope you're all ready for those tears.

Episode 12: Day of the Colossus
Team Avatar clashes with Kuvira on the streets of Republic City; Pema and Prince Wu help evacuate innocent citizens.

Episode 13: The Last Stand
When Korra comes face to face with Kuvira, the fate of the Earth Kingdom and the Avatar's life are at stake.

Oh boy, can't wait to see Wu and Pema forced into some relevancy while Tenzin, Mako, Bolin, Asami, Kai, Jinora, Meelo (though I expect him to do a fart joke), Ikki, Asami's dad, Lin, Su, and others rot away

Sounds damn vanilla.

:P

Can't disagree with that ha. Bryke playing it safe.
I'm still expecting they'll give a super spirit serum to Kuvira or something so that she has a fair shot against the avatar state when her Giant mech eventually gets destroyed at some point in the finale. Unless they decide to go down this path again.

I'm not ready for it to be over....holy shit....I remember watching the first 4 episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender in a little mini marathon on Nick so many years ago with my little brother, planning on making fun of it the whole time because I then thought the premise was so stupid....

These two shows have had a lasting effect on me, whether it was the humor or occasional wisdom, I feel like I'm a slightly different person from having watches both series.

Never really followed any TV series but the two Avatar cartoons. It wouldn't be surprising to myself if I held off on watching the last two episodes for a long time, just don't want it to end.

I feel as though the Red Lotus stuff is something that will be covered in some other spinoff media that takes place between books 3 and 4.

Korra, I thought you were made of sterner stuff.

Red lotus is the best thing that happen to the legend of korra second to varrik.

Red lotus > team korra
I fucking love that pic. That's because Zaheer and his crew actually complimented each other in combat, they made up for each others weaknesses and knew how to watch each others back.

I can't believe the time has come for the very end. Its funny, the first trailer for Korra is what got me to check out ATLA to begin with, so even though LoK is what it is, I find it hard to hate. (At least we got a good game out of it.)

I mostly lurk this thread, but i've always enjoyed reading along with all the great discussion in here. Looking forward to the giant posts in the coming days haha.

That sounds really fun.

If there is a second game it probably won't be Korra you play as considering her circumstances at the time. More likely it would be someone from the newly founded Air Nation.

Actually, that could be a really good place to place a game.

Korra's on her own, so there's no need to worry about awkwardly writing out or shoehorning in the supporting cast, and there's a whole three year period of time where we only have bits and pieces of what Korra was doing, especially after she leaves the Water Tribe to sneak off and go walkabout. Her recovery would be a great way to explain why she's building her bending up from "Level 1" again, and we could follow Korra wandering the globe just figuring herself out.

It's actually kind of the perfect place to set a "filler" story like a video game.

We should play as Kuvira.

Popping in to say that I love you all KorraGAF. This is a community I can honestly feel home at. I have to take my final final, so I'll see you all on the other side.

This is almost EXACTLY how I first got introduced to ATLA except it was through the occasional reruns of episodes on Nicktoons far after ATLA ended on Nick. Watching the episodes in disparate and meaningless order definitely made me interested in the series, then sometime in 2012, I marathoned the whole series online and became hooked ever since. Korra hasn't lived up to abnormally high standards that ATLA has set (in terms of character, story, plot), but the animation is among the best I have seen in anime/cartoon history. It is very pretty and the fanbase has been just awesome and amazing! Very disappointed that it is coming to an end, but Bryke has done an outstanding job catering to us fans and they truly deserve a well-deserved break. Looking forward to their next endeavors wherever it may take them.
