"Just talked to the GM of the Toys R Us in Thornton Colorado. Apparently, a company wide email went out that said there was a massive shortage of the Amiibos they had ordered. They may not even have enough for store shelves. Because of this, every single Amiibo pre-order (both in store and online) have now been cancelled.
So...this is all going to come down to luck on February 1st if you want that Lucario.
Good luck."

Sweet, looks like Best Buy is going to come through with my Little Mac order. Just got a status update that the order is being prepared for shipment.

holy fucking..... shit..

UPDATE:

Just got off the phone with customer service (HA!)
I got the same run around answer over and over again: Government law states that no company can hold an item for over 30 days he said (sounds like BS to me). I asked why the f$% they had them on the website then. He said maybe Nintendo pushed the release date. I asked what the f$% happens to all the sale prices I got on these things, he said I will need to watch the website and create a new order when they're up.

It was really completely useless and I really don't know what to do about this situation...

Holy shit.

2:13am here in NY. Guest Relations was a waste of time. They said the release date for the product is no longer confirmed so they're canceling preorders. I spoke to a rep and her manager, they're just making it up as they go along. It was clear they had no info. And to the person who asked, yes they're 24/7 for the holidays.

I ordered these all during the BOGO 40% OFF sale. TRU should have to honor that in some way. I don't know if I should be saying F Nintendo or F TRU or F both.

Is there a corporate TRU number? I called Gamestop corporate once and got my answer solved right away, with a domestic employee.

You guys are probably getting the outsourced peoples (thus 24/7) that have limited information on anything, usually resulting in typical PR stuffs.

Guys don't freak out, just calm down.

Really it's a combination of the following:

- Nintendo underestimated demand, as we all
- Dock strikes delaying stock
- TRU jumping the gun
- Holiday season

Once these start to be addressed, things will be ok lol

Ordered the rest of wave 3 from gamestop. Calling TRU tomorrow, to at the very least get their price gouged bullshit discounted. I'm not even bothering with their lucario bull, I'll just get another lucario figure not amiibo at this point. Fuck this noise.

Now I only hope both pit and falcon are out there, I'm out of free time.

Yeah, the call center is based in Houston but the workers I spoke to were Mexican (I asked!). Very much outsourced and they very much had no info.
