I think this is reasonable. I get that everyone is upset (I am too. If my in-store cards are worthless, I now have a bunch of wasted cardboard on my desk and I'm out gas money it took me to get to the store) but I REALLY think they are just resetting the slate because they know they fucked up. In the grand scheme of things, this hurt scalpers way worse than any one of us.

I'm just glad I got a few characters I like so I can walk away soon. I never intended to buy them all and the crazy train is still too much of a hassle. Can't even trust preorders, so what's the point.

I'm happy a great gaffer offered to ship me Diddy, as I really only wanted him, DK, and Fox. I've got a Luigi I can send someone for cost if they can't find him.
 
I hate myself for getting suckered into collecting these, but I'm trying to do so without hurting my wallet too much.

I hope the bespoke offers £5 for a £10 Amazon gift certificate comes back. £5.85 each for Little Mac and Pit was not bad.

Any other tips for savings UK Gaf?

well I didn't have a lucario order in before the cancellations but I do now.

were the orders canceled truly for people who had pre-ordered multiple lucarios? or are orders getting canceled for people who just had 1 pre-ordered as well.

good on them if they're trying to stave off the scalpers and cancelling bulk orders, but if they're cancelling single orders as well that's dumb :/
 
I *really* wish they would create a Ice Climbers Amiibo.

I'm not really interested in Smash Bros, but that's a lite "History of Nintendo" they've created, and Ice Climbers are really a part of my childhood (not because of the NES game, but because of the Game & Watch, which was great).


Speaking of Game and Watch, I'm really curious to see how they create Mr G&W. I'd like to see him flat, and I hope they'll do this.


I'd love to see a Maple, too, but there's not a *single* chance to see her ^_^ Same for Conker. Or Pico/Goroh. Or...

Man, they could produce two hundreds of Amiibos and keeping me interested. I'm so sold on them. That's real-life Pokemon.

I didn't even have an online Lucario pre-ordered, but I got one now.

However, they nuked my pre-order for 1 Pit.
 
Went ahead and just bought little mac on ebay for 30. They shipped 1 to the city near where my parents live. Eff that. The others were 2 hours away. Now I have no idea what to do about captain falcon
 
They nuked all leftover preorders for second half of Wave 2 and all of Wave 3. This is just bad service for anyone who got in on their deal. I really wish I made backup orders with Best Buy now.
 
Christ. Missed Rosalina AGAIN and had Pit cancelled from TrU. This is a real bitch. Luckily I think I still have a couple Pit ordered at Best Buy. Someone better come through with Pit or I'm going to be extremely pissed. I can't believe TrU cancelled everything. Asshats. They should be sending out gift cards for shit like this.

What a morning. Get the e-mail from TRU that my quantity of 1 preorder of Lucario was canceled, but now I just preordered him from TRU. Fingers crossed it all works out?

Interesting though.. I have never had a preorder canceled. I mean, a preorder should guarantee the sale. Oh well. Maybe it was a case of a mistake from TRU and too many people ordering more than 1 quantity.

I did grab my original Lucario preorder when TRU had B1G1 40%, and I got Zelda for $8.99. I wonder if TRU will now charge me the complete value of Zelda since the preorder for Lucario was canceled?

They basically canceled all Lucarios cuz scalpers probably bought them out. Now they relisted him and it's limited to 1 per person now.

People have also been saying that their normal wave 2 and wave 3 amiibo preorders were cancelled as well though, so it seems like it was more than just Lucario preorders driving this shit show.

That includes me. Lucario wasn't up for preorder at that time. But it's the most obvious reason since all the other amiibos are limited to 3 per person. As for the the other preorders, TRU are just assholes.

This is correct.

By the looks of it, it really looks like they wiped the slate of pre-orders for anything that wasn't already released in a store (Lucario, Pit, Captain Falcon, All of Wave 3) and just said "Everyone sorry, but try to get it again".

This time there were limits of pre-orders in place.
 
Genuine concerns now that my Little Mac wont be turning up. Shopto dispatched both Pit and Mac on Wednesday and strangely only Pit arrived yesterday. The post today has now been and gone and there is still no Little Mac to be found. I understand its that time of year, I just find it a little odd that one would come without the other.

Anyone else receive their Little Mac from Shopto?
 
Is Luigi available at Best Buy yet? I don't trust my pre order there anymore...Is he available at all other retailers or just popping up at some?
 
Just picked up a Zelda and Diddy Kong at Best Buy. Their system put a streetdate lock on Little Mac and wouldnt let it be sold. So I'll have to keep trying on that one, since its the only one we got in...

Luigi managed to escape and got shipped from TRU. I bet he'll be one of the common ones. Seen a lot from the pics posted here by NA folks.

Yeah, Toys R Us just canceled by Captain Falcon preorder and my entire preorder of Wave 3. Every single one, including Lucario.

And this is after they shipped my Zelda figure with terrible packaging. No cushioning at all, but just a thin plastic pouch/bag around it.
 
I can confirm I only ordered one Lucario and TRU cancelled my pre-order. I just pre-ordered it again, so all is well, but I would have been pissed if I would not have been able to get it.
 
heck, my TRU Pit preorder was canceled too. That was the only amiibo I ordered from them. Looks like Pit has been completely removed from their site, too. Jerks.
 
Does anyone know how Best Buy's website works? If the amiibo is sold out, it says so. Like Pit for example. However, Marth still says ADD TO CART, but only available for store pickup. There are zero stores in my area who have him in stock. Does that mean that there is at least one store in some random, unknown zip code to me that still has him available at the store?

Yeah, he's been gone for more than a day now. At least show him being sold out, but removing an amiibo? Odd.
