Best Buy's preorder system is so whack. I preordered Wave 2 sans Diddy Kong and they just cancelled my Little Mac and shipped my Zelda. Also, twice this week they had Diddy Kong and Little Mac on the shelves and I went to buy them, only to be shot down by the register.

Alternatively, I ordered both Villager and Wii Fit Trainer from them after they were discontinued, and BOTH shipped. Whack, I tell you. Whack.

EDIT: Bonus story - went to two Toy R Us, a Best Buy and a Target last night and only found one Luigi. This is insanity.
 
I'm pretty upset about missing out on Rosalina again, but at least I didn't have any TRU preorders. Sorry to everyone who had theirs canceled- what a mess. Hope you all manage to get it fixed or get new orders. :( We still have a couple of Best Buy preorders, but I don't have high hopes for those lasting.

In good amiibo news, I went ahead and gave my boyfriend his Little Mac amiibo rather than wait for Christmas. He ripped it open right away and has been posing him with our other figures and making him punch things (he's currently punching the cat that is on our Gravity Rush figure). Guess it was worth the stress to get it in the end. lol

I have no idea how far you are from Springfield, VA, but the website shows it as in stock there, just not able to be ordered online. Might be worth a call (I already have a preorder and Springfield is a huge hassle for me).
 
Saw a Marth in my local GAME, which I didn't pick up. Now that I think about it, I should of, because I could of sold it to a GAFer in need. :(

Was doing some christmas shopping and they only had a small stand with like 15 of them, and they filled the gaps on the stand everytime someone bought one with a new one, there was a WiiFit trainer and a villager on it before I left so I grabbed the villager :D

Other than that they only had the more common ones.

Next for me id definitely Charizard if they make one.

Thanks, yeah I knew there was talk of them being there and in Richmond, VA. I'm a little far from there though. I tried Frederick when they came in (and I believe still said in stock to my knowledge) but two different people claimed they don't have them. I live up in the Northwest near Gaithersburg and Rockville.

My local GAME had 3 Marth's in stock but didn't buy any but at least they are still getting shipments of them.

I was reading comments on Amiibo Inquirer and some have stated it is rumored Nintendo may replace discontinued figures with AR cards so nobody loses out on in game functions. Has anyone else heard this? That is a horrible substitute ha
 
Been trying to find Little Mac now for about a week with no luck. I had two friends who said they would get me one but that didn't turn out well :(. GOD DAMMIT Nintendo.

So amiibo were a trick to get us back into buying playing cards.

...Nintendo just can't let them go...

Yeah there's a thread about it

To be clear, they aren't AR cards, they're just cards with the NFC chip embedded. Cheaper to manufacture and don't take up much retail shelf space.
 
Struck out at my local Target in Dearborn, MI on my lunch break. It looked like their amiibo display hasn't been touched in weeks. I asked the clerk if they going to stock more amiibos today, and he said no.

In reference to the card thing, the content is a bit misleading for people at the moment. I think it is very important to note that Shigeru is referring to IF in the future they discontinue certain amiibos as they are no doubt going to (they can't keep them all manufacturing of course), they will do this as an option.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean any are discontinued just yet and Nintendo is going to immediately be putting this out as a replacement. There is a lot of worry in NA regarding things possibly being discontinued and this is kinda fueling it with its wording.
 
I really hope that Bestbuy doesn't cancel any of my Amibos that they delayed to the 30th like Pit and Cap Falcon. By the time I'd know for sure they'd be impossible to find anywhere but EBay.

A lot of people are blaming Nintendo for these shortages when in reality (just like the Wii) most of the shortages are being artificially manufactured by all the sleazy scalpers.

But wouldn't it be hilarious if they were also AR cards, but all they did was display the figurine? "Look, you have your amiibo, just you can only see it through the 3DS"
 
Wasn't gonna buy any but stopped at FYE by work and saw Pit so I figured why not. It's actually pretty good quality and I bought it mainly to prevent a scalper who came in behind me from getting it. I should have grabbed the Diddy too but wasn't thinking

I got the majority of my commons there (I have their discount card). I called the one near me this morning but they might have gotten a shipment since then. I'll take a look when I get off work in an hour.
 
So my Lucario got cancelled. It was ordered when the first batch of preorders went up and I'm in Canada so I have no other option now.

Any kind USA gafers willing to preorder one in store for me? It can be shipped to a border store that is 45 minutes away from me so no need for international shipping.

I will pay for shipping, the item and a bit extra for your help.
 
same boat with Target. They just canceled my Pit, Diddy, Mac and Falcon. I got Diddy and Mac from TRU in store so not worried about those.

As someone who has collected action figures most of his life, I'm over the hunt and love to order my shit online. This is bullshit.
 
Stupid Target. Alright so if I order from Amazon.fr instead, I know the outside packing looks different, but is the figure itself any different? Basically once I open it, is the figure otherwise identical to the US figure?
