That is terrifying. Would make for a good avatar

Where's the quality Kuvira artwork?

now that we got a gay avatar whos also a girl, if we ever did hypothetically get another avatar what would you like it to be about? personally i want a tragic avatar who fails his misson, we know there are some who've been killed, thats what i want to see, the villians win or our avatar failinghis mission, it would be a good change imo. Or an avatar who is like yolo smd, i call the shots, its my way or the high way. :P

I was mostly joking. Although I do think Ryuko was gay. And some of the dialogue that Mako said kind of implied she liked her too. But yeah, it was never played serious. And yes, poor Gamagoori.

Hhaha.
The nose bleed when mako saw ryuko's tits. Plus how she bigged up ryuko's tits compared to satsuki's tits. It didn't eexactly come out of the blue and ryuko never was attracted to any guy on the show. Spent most of the time talking to Mako and screaming "Kiryuin Satsuki!"

Don't really care. I just want their personality to be a bit more likable. I think Aang was mixed, because he was a little kid. And little kids can be annoying even if they don't mean to be. But in the end, Aang won me over. He had too many cool moments, and I respected his ability to put aside his childhood to get shit done in the end.

Korra was just a wreck. Like, I think her character was more relatable on paper. But they also made her really insufferable in parts. Partly because, they did such a poor job with her story structure. And while I can appreciate a very very flawed avatar with a ton of personal struggle, I would want an Avatar we can just root for. Someone with a really easy personality, and is bad ass.

I do get that, you don't want a super vanilla character that is a mary sue (or a perfect person). Just saying I think I would rather they lean towards that this time. Let us focus on the plot, and what the character can do, vs the frustration and set backs.

Just me. I don't care what race/gender the next Avatar is. Just want a good personality.

EDIT: Maybe a much older Avatar could be cool. We haven't really had an Avatar of older age. I mean we saw flashback of Ryuko etc. But yeah. I think there could be some interesting plot with a story that picks up after an Avatar has had their training, and is 30-40 years in.

I want my villain avatar. Can be a guy or gal, but hopefully from the earth kingdom with Kuvira's sick metal bending skills. Like Kuvira if she was written right with awesome avatar powers. They would close those spirit portals too cause screw that nonsense.

A villain Avatar would be interesting. But lol I don't see them ever doing that. They seem too set in this being a good vs evil kind of plot. And the Avatar is always (well for the most part), the Good. Then again, we have had Avatars in the past that were pieces of shit. Like that Surfer water tribe dope fiend.

I am happy.

I went nuts watching the last few minutes of the finale. Hell, I've watched it like 20-30 times now.

Tumblr is a great place to be btw. The amount of quality artwork I'm seeing is staggering.

Beautiful

Bolin picked up Ghazan's Lava Shuriken.

Yeah it was pretty neat moment when Bolin used it in the finale. Wonder how long it'll be before Bolin start trying to teach over earthbenders how to lavabend.

Normal pairings were bad enough in ATLA. But a possibly canon ambiguous homosexual one... yeah, that's raining blood right there.

It wasn't that type of awful it was the "Fuck actually discussing the show, let's all get angry and call the entire Korra staff SJWs, they just did this to bait emmys and deflect critiscm by calling us homophobes but if you disagree with me I'll call you tumblr landwhale etc" type of awful.

Next avatar in line would Earth, right? She could be an ancestor of some renegade part of Kuvira's troops that didn't give up mentally and lived in poverty and exile, so the new avatar grows up resentful and bitter.

Well, this is just another form of "team panders to part of fandom X". I've see arguments about Zukos skin color being the factor in Kataang.

I really wish I could love that ending. I still think it was terrible. Just awful. I'm more then okay with Korrasami. I actually wanted them to be together back during Book 2. But I still never felt they did a good job with their plot. And when all was said and done, I don't feel Korrasami earned that ending. Or rather, it should not have been the closing shot/focus of the last 2 min. It was a plot barely established in Book 3 (which was very clunky), and was then pushed to the background. Then it picked up steam in Book 4 (but again, only to be pushed to the background for the majority).

To have the entire series end on that note, I dunno. I just can't be ZOMG this is the most beautiful amazing thing ever. I can appreciate people that really wanted that ship loving it. And I like that ship too. I love the concept of it. But I still hated like the ending itself. Gah.

Korrsami to me, feels more like the beginning of a romance. Like really best friends that have just barely taken the step to seeing how their feelings will go. And that is a beautiful though. But it wasn't a fully realized romance. And it wasn't a plot arc that was very prominent or handled well. So it was a weird ending to me. It didn't have the emotional impact I think I would have liked it to.

I think, even if you didn't like Katara and Aang for instance, there was still so much history behind that romance. And the scene wasn't just about their romance. It was about the closing of this journey we started with them so long ago. It was about them over coming everything, and still maintaining that relationship and becoming stronger with it. It was a major pay off to their journey, their relationship arc etc.

Korrasami just...didn't have that.

If they ever do another series in the avatar world the avatar cannot be the protagonist.

The avatar is inherently too OP and we need more grounded stories.

Of course, let;s say Vaatu is reborn within Raava and is able to influence the avatar's character...then a series like that would be cool, where a bunch of regular people try to take down the tyrannical avatar.

or something.

Yeah, I feel you on that. I still haven't rewatched it. Don't really feel like it lol.

Coming off the really great return of the king season 3, season 4 was one big dissapointment better then season 1 or 2 but that's not saying much.

Ok not to get off topic here but Black Beetle in YJ, wasn't that scene with him and Wondergirl kinda
sexual
? I think was the voice.

I still think people are crazy for saying Book 4 is better than Book 1. Hell no. Amon was still awesome to watch. Book 1 still had a lot of tension and emotion. Kuvira was really half baked, and the entire season felt like a mindless slog.

I think the Book 1 finale was a disaster of epic proportions. But I would still take Amon over Kuvira any day. I would still take a fraud like him, over that. Because at least he was fun to watch, and was well designed (in terms of being menacing and entertaining). And odd enough, I think Book 1 probably had the best "team Korra"...out of all the seasons. You actually had them spending time together as a group, they felt like friends.

It's just very odd that Book 1 had them feel the most together. But yeah. Book 1 easily trumps Book 4, which was basically a season about nothing. The Book 4 finale was definitely better though. Even if Book 4's finale was a bunch of non-sense. It still had great pacing/action set pieces, and was really fun to watch.

If they ever do another one, then I at least hope they realize that the current setup is getting old. I can get with good vs evil, but it seemed like they were trying to be ambiguous with some of Korra's villains and it really did'nt work out. Give me ambiguously good/evil avatar instead.

Next avatar in line would Earth, right? I could see that working out. Also, earth is such a cool and disciplined element. It would be nice to have an avatar like that.

I agree with everything but team Korra, halfway through Book 1 they forgot what Mako and Bolin were abut and Book 4 had way better character moments for them apart or not.

Book 1's first few episodes were good, then came probending and everything else that was bad that lasted within Book 1 and 2.

I think the writing for the series could've been better in some places, but I'll be damned if we didn't get an actual relationship at the end that makes sense along with Korra actually acting like an Avatar when dealing with Kuvira.

Also, entertainment critique websites are praising the hell out of the conclusion's display of Korra and Asami's affection, some even straight up praising the conclusion.

I criticized the hell out of Korra, but looking back, this was one inclusive children's show. So many women of all backgrounds and statures. Some badass like Su, some feeble like the Queen. Young and old. Moms and grandmas and daughters. All people of color too.

YES.

I love this. Seeing the ending made me incredibly happy.

Not from the ending, but if we are saying the romance is cannon, then scenes like this def are romantic IMO. Especially with Korra blushing in this scene. Just me though. Either way, the ending is very dark lighting wise, and doesn't have enough shots of them together in the same frame (oddly enough). So this is all I could get. I went back through the episode, and any moments with Korra and Asami had weird angles where both weren't in frame (usually side to side, with one off screen, or the other at an odd angle). Then the scene where they go into the portal is very poorly lit, and then the actual scene where they go into the portal together has the glowing background. So it's impossible to get a transparent background.

But yeah, best I could do.

Thank you, those are great!

I agree the charcter stuff was a mess. It was the biggest flaw of the season (their relationships). But book 1 had them spending the most time together. They felt like actual friends and a reason to be together. Book 2 on up there was no reason for them to hang out. And they spent most of their time apart. It's crazy that book 1 had their closest stuff.

I think outside of the korra vs tarlock battle and Lin and korra against the equalists at the pro bending stadium book 4 at the very least had some very fun battles compared to book 1. Amon didn't really do much outside of swag his way through shit.

The pro bending stuff was a drag. But I'll take 2-3 pro bending episodes to the half baked Kuvira plot that took up the majority of the season. Seriously book 4 was almost boring. It was basically a non plot season.

Book 1 for all its issues had tension and the Amon plot was fun.

Can't believe people prefer that boring slog of a season to Book 1 :p

You have now entered...the twilight zone.

Amon was so fucking cool. He just no sold bloodbending like it was nothing

I'm usually the straight faced, manly man who would never be caught dead getting into shipping and all that jazz, but fuck it, I'm going wild with this shit today.

i feel you, i wouldn't object to that, even anti hero would be cool. or maybe an avatar who starts with good intentions but starts using odd methods to accomplish his or her task cause it gets the job done quicker(like starts using blood bending for example). oh man i hope we get another avatar show and its a tragic/anti hero/ villain avatar. it would be should a good change of pace not only for the show but tv in general. but by villain i dont want straight up villain like kuriva or something, I want a villain that you can understand where they're coming from and even though we don't agree with their goals, they do have a point.

I never said I preferred the season regarding plot or pacing. I preferred the fight scenes compared to book 1. I'm very literal when I say things. Book 4's story was a cluster fuck half way through and my disappointment regarding kuvira as a villain led to my avatar change. I don't support how they handled her so to clear my mind of it I changed it. Satsuki rocks kuvira was just wasted potential.

TBH I felt bored of Book 4 at spots preceding the concluding episodes. Things went too slow considering the limited amount of episodes there were. Bryke honestly would've done better with more eps per book. They aren't able to pull off tight writing.

IMO the Amon plot was fun before we find out about the waterbending nonsense lol.

Honestly, if Amon was left as some enigmatic blight against nature who actually could remove bending, and have him as the final book's antagonist with Kuvira as book 1's or 2's, then I'd be okay with that.

Then again, I believe Book 2 shouldn't exist but w/e.

Dude, I understand completely. I haven't felt this way since I was 12 years old.

Like I'm actually fucking happy this happened. I wasn't even shipping ANYONE when watching the show, but I saw this grow over the course of Book 3 and 4 and I'm glad I got to see it.

It's like I'm looking at history.

Dude I feel you. I dunno why but this show, man. Same goes for me. All this shipping is tumblr stuff I stay away from.
It's a real shame that it's going to be damn near impossible to find a Korra conversation that isn't 98% Korrasami.
Hey, it's still a pretty big deal, even outside of our own hub as fans.

Regarding Amon he was just too op to fight. There was almost no interesting fight choreography for him. He was a good villain yes but you just couldn't logistically fight somebody that fucking broken.
You know what? I never really thought about it that way... You're right!

+1 point for Kuvira.

Yeah... kinda explains why the actual fight scenes were not that exciting except for that sweet tension

Also, let's take a moment to acknowledge the music in this series. Good lord, it's always been good since the first season of ATLA.

Gotta love how the composer posted the final theme of LoK on his Soundcloud with Korra and Asami holding hands. Note that the song is a remix of Avatar's Love from ATLA.
