This might be a weird topic. I never owned a gun before. I recently sold my car and the buyer made me a good offer and wanted to give me $500 under asking price and a brand new Glock and ammo. I accepted, now I have a gun. What do I do now? Drive to the woods and shoot? I heard that you can fire guns outside of the city limits. I really have no idea what to do with this thing it also feels a bit strange to have a gun at home

Take a gun safety course.

For the love of all that is holy and good in this world please take a gun safety course.

Before you head to the woods, etc., I would recommend getting some training from a friend to use your gun properly. You could also check out a local shooting range. Also, I would consult your local laws to make sure you know where and when you can have and practice with your gun.

Rob a grocery store. Then go and become senator.

Go to the police and run the license number to make sure it isn't stolen and or related to any crime. If it all checks out, get your handgun training and go shoot some shit in the woods

I hope OP checked state laws about gun ownership before accepting a weapon. Not to say that he might not be in the clear, but that doesn't sound like something that should be able to happen.
