The Order: 1886 trailer - "Silent Night"

Really don't like trailers who put a song in the background playing trying to make the game look all dramatic and stuff. Why can't we get a normal gameplay trailer with in game soundtrack?

The PSX demo was much more open level design then we have ever seen in an uncharted game. With multiple pathways abound and entire sections avoided by Nate. The level design was even less linear than TLoU, which had more open level design than the Uncharter series to begin with.

Maybe I need to rewatch it.

It sure would be awesome if the game actually has intricate level design this time around.

It seems UC4 combat areas are atleast as big as TLOU if not bigger ( given the different mechanics at play - verticality, stealth, cover shooting etc... ) which means it will be wide linear and not like UC1,2 or 3 wheras Order seems to be closer to UC1/2/3 mould so far.

One would hope so.

i didnt think the music fit well and dont think it was well put together. They were trying to do what the avengers did with the pinocchio song but couldnt pull it off. i just dont think it sold the game well.

1. It's seasonal. Silent Night is a much beloved carol. Great version of it too.

2. Subversion of the familar warm feelings a carol can evince by juxtaposing it with horror is a familiar way of building atmosphere.

Man I still remember all the flak that this game got on GAF for going for the filmic look and emulating a camera lens and whatever. Well, I'm glad they didn't listen to the haters because all their effort paid off, in my opinion this is the best looking game I've seen to date. Can't wait to play this for myself.

BigTnaples, UC does a clear LOD switch which actually makes sense because having the same high fidelity model while playing the game with the camera zoomed out is unnecessary as it hogs system resources and no one will even likely notice. The order however does it differently. There is no switch. The character details remain the exact same when switching from cutscene to gameplay which is frankly ridiculous as it will only hog resources. Yet RAD belives it will add authenticity to the game which is why they are taking the resource hog to provide that experience. There is a clear difference in the models in cutscenes and gameplay in UC4. Infact pause the screen when Nate is in that first melee struggle under the water against the rock and compare it with the ending cutscene. It is different. All dev's do this. RAD is the exception.

And this is the reason because i love them! Every game one day should be done in this way!!!

This game has an atmosphere like no other. From what I've seen it has at the very least a decent storyline and script with acting to match, rather than dragging it down into usual computer game amateur-ism like many games fail miserably at.

I for one can't wait.

If this is like Colonial Marines where you only fight the monsters 30% of the time while the rest are boring human enemies then I'll pass- unless the GAF reviews are glowing, then I'll get it cheap or 2nd hand like Mordor.

Seriously, wasn't the initial teaser and synopsis base around fighting those werewolves? Why are they showing more human enemies now?

Don't care about reviews, angry Joe rants or hate from GAF, getting this day 1

"i hope the shooting don't suck"

I hear that so much it's annoying
Can I duck behind cover? Check
Can I aim? Check
Can I fire the gun? Check

That's all I need

Because... Plot?

You want to kill monsters all day with little to no plot, there is always blood born.

Trailer is glorious and I really like the setting and story so I'll be buying.

And although I appreciate the souls games they are not really my thing so will skip Bloodborne although again like the order the graphics and cloth movement etc are out of this world. So that's my February game sorted

WAT? I didn't pay much attention to U4 because of all the graphics 'debate' so I missed that, but WAT? I don't want my first time seeing such amazing effects to be on a dude character... :(

That + Tressfx on Lara would be amazing. Oh wait TR is dead to me.

You want Lara Croft with chest hair ?

You want Lara's chest hair to move in the wind?

EDIT: Damn you, Orioto!

Actually I change my mind. The combat areas look way way bigger than TLOU. The combat arena in UC4 is massive. I could see so many options available for traversing while watching that video. Soooo Excited about that game.

Hopefully Order has atleast some of that combat arena size in the game.

Great trailer.

I wish those bars were gone though, look at much of the framing and the tops of peoples heads are regularly cut off, it really is like the bars are pasted over the top.

This game just looks quality, that trailer was amazing feb 20th pre-order I hope is a little early!!

Good showing of more story content and action, love the "heavy" combat hits in slow motion hope they leave some of those in the actual game.

Fits this trailer far better than the piss poor Avengers trailer.

Uncharted 4's true scope is unknown as of yet because nobody played it.

I'd bet on UC4 being linear as the other ND games, simply speaking from past experience.

From the footage we've seen, there's nothing to indicate that the game will have an
usually large scope anyway.

It'll be linear but with open areas that create combat bowls in which you are set loose (a bit like Halo). Uncharted always had these, think of the ship graveyard, but 4 looks to set a new standard. I hope The Order will have nice open areas that allow for different approaches as well, but I'm not holding my breath.

Great trailer. As a fan of Uncharted games and their cinematic brethren, I'm very optimistic about The Order.

2015 is looking real good right now.

Great trailer. Just sucks that that all the gameplay they have shown looks boring as shit. But i'm keeping my hopes up. Also lol at that stuttery slow motion.

With this game I do not care how well it plays or how linear it might be, I will buy this simply for the graphics. There might be a good story in there, good character and dialogue writing and fine tuned gameplay mechanics, but I consider them a bonus.
I'm usually not like this, but there's a graphics whore inside all of us and this game totally feeds into mine.

If they air this trailer, hype would explode for this game and that negative cloud would dissipate immediately. That was damn cool.
