You know, I was unpleasantly surprised at how hard the game was to find. I had other stuff for her but none of it seemed very personal. I'm a shitty gifter. Then at the last minute I realized DC2 would be a nice nostalgia gift so I went out to "just grab one" and I couldn't get this motherfucker! I remember it was Greatest Hits, too. I ended up finding one in acceptable condition a few cities over and paying 40 dollars for it.

She's going to love it tho I just know it! <3 She adores DC1 even now but is unaware of the sequel!

I'm sure this has been answered but is there no way to play offline since you can't sign in? I read somewhere about setting the Xbox as your 'Home Xbox' but it appears you have to be online to this. My kids just want to play Lego Batman.

I'm signed in just fine, and downloaded a firmware update (and a bunch of game updates) earlier without any problems (well, maybe a bit slower than usual, but nothing other than that).

That wasn't on a brand-new system though, just one that I haven't used much lately (been too busy with Warlords of Draenor to touch my consoles...)

Definitely still some issues with some functionality (intermittent issues with store pages not loading, and now I can't load up any achievements), but the system is generally functional.

Hell, I didn't even know this attack was a thing until I loaded up GAF just now and saw this thread, and just assumed it was the usual Christmas day slowness from a bunch of new systems being brought online.

I will just wait til everything is sorted out. Since this is a new XBOX ONE I dont want to take any chances. Still have to buy a kinect tv mount for my kinect..was thinking about getting the PDP Kinect XBOX ONE TV Mount but not sure if its compatible with my TV(Samsung 55 inch LED 7100 series) do you know if downloading system updates is affected because of this attack or is just XBOX LIVE? Either way I will wait, no rush whats one more day

The patch server can connect to and update systems outside of all this crap. It could do that as far back as that first PSN hacking a few years ago.

Sucks for people wanting to just enjoy their new systems or even just to play. Although I do wonder how much it really has to do with them and not just an influx of new users. Hell, Nintendo was down for a Pokemon app awhile back. Seems like they just want to take credit for inevitability and people are giving them the credit.

Even if it's just that so many people are online because of their new games, time off, and new consoles, the requirement to activate a physical console for it to work sucks and should be removed. This is xbox one's second xmas, I don't know how things were for it's first year but I'm guessing it wasn't this bad since there were fewer of them out there.
