LIZARD SQUAD is Back. Planning XBL Attack. "Biggest attack yet". [UP: XBL/PSN Down]

lol why are people shocked and appalled at others calling for violence?

when you start fucking with people's holidays and with those that work hard and get very little time off to do things they enjoy, these are the reactions you will get.

You're not really going to apologize for that guy's ramblings about "the corrupted", right? That'd be pretty low, even for you.

Something something definition of insanity is repeating the same thing expecting a different result also the hell did I do, I'm just a boy! *flees*

People blacklist things and name call all the time. This just adds fuel to the fire. Could you imagine what's being said about Sony right about now? No one cares they work 365 days a year on a service. It's just one or two days out of the year that matter the most.

People really do go crazy when both PSN and XBL are fucked up, least this thread and others around the internet are providing entertainment

We really should institute a policy for banning posts and threads that mention Lizard Squad.

All they want is attention, and we're feeding it to them.

There's plenty of people still asking if PSN is down, yes. Oh right, you meant something petty about me. You got me pardner. Go yuk it up with yourself about it.

If you're arguing with Marcel, you need to find better ways of dealing with the downtime. TV, books, handhelds, hangout with family and friends etc

I know right? It's engraved in the culture of gaming!

Nice to see CNN giving these guys extensive coverage...

I know! It's like we were all "attacked". They can't even make the story seem like we'll be fine once this all blows over. It's all over the place: MSNBC, FOX, and local news stations.

It's either going to help the industry or produce more BS around it.

Mine work. Try go into settings and stop the PS4 from connecting to the internet. It's probably just idling out trying to verify your licenses or something.

I was able to play Far Cry 4 digitally fine last night offline. Only thing I can think of is thst you might need to restore your licenses.

Try signing out. That may fix the problem when you're offline.

Click "restore licenses"

Thanks guys, will try this asap!

UK. Logged on this morning, played for an hour then went back to bed.... Bad move. Have not been able to log on to PSN whole midday/afternoon. Destiny withdrawal.

I hope these brats are caught and pay a heavy price. Nothing is more incomprehensible to me than jerks who get their jollies from crapping on other people who have done absolutely nothing wrong... working-class families who scrimped and saved all year to buy their kid a game system... disabled children who use online gaming to connect with friends... fathers and daughters separated by miles who have a day or two off over the holidays and want to get together for some co-op... etc. Yeah, I'm totally OK with these losers getting a well-deserved ass-kicking.

Can't login to PSN on mine, which means no buying GTAV for me. Boo.

Also can't watch NowTV, which for some bizarre reason has PSN as a single point of failure. Neither Amazon Prime Video or Netflix do this, so it's a pretty stupid choice to do it that way...

And people wonder why "gamers" aren't taken serious...
Oh yeah, it's because were fickle and complain about dumb shit.

They give away free games and people still complain. I love it how no one sticks up for them. Yet they make 1 good game and everybody praises them. It's an attack in all sorts of directions. Who knows what's going on. They could be updating the store and it was just a day or two.

The guy accessing his program made by some outsourced programmer gets spammed by what over a thousand people? This is millions of people on a service they're known for. I'm pretty sure everything will be alright.

Not trying to argue about if Sony's employees are working hard or not to solve the issue (I expect they are) but my point is that DDOS attacks aren't some magical bullet that can kill everything, if you take the integrity of your network seriously and you pursue high availability there are solutions (expensive ones and most that are useless until you are being under attack) on hardware side, software, cloud and services that could prevent your network from suffering struggles over DDOS attacks or at least help you to get back online ASAP. Also DDOS attacks are one of the most basic form of attacks there is, I would assume that it would be one of the first thing you will cover once you covered your basics on your network security.

Wait what, why do you say he looks like a weak fool? he's a third party it's not like MS or Sony is trying to bribe them with free lifetime xbl gold/psn then yeah, they would look weak.

Kim just tried to help out as he has the power to, and probably wanted to play his xbox aswell. He tried to help everyone, it didn't work out so he'll just cancel their vouncers. No big real really, I don't think that makes him look weak. It's not like he's the one hosting XBL/PSN.

I am of the opinion that you shouldn't enable people with bad intentions. Would you give your son candy for striking his younger sibling?

I guess I don't see it like that. I'm not angry either way I just see it as a bunch of kids being stupid and wanting attention. If it's if it's not kids it's still just a bunch of mankids wanting attention and being stupid.
It is kind of exasperating at a minimum though, and I do think there's more justification for anger when someone's deliberately out to break things rather than just accidents happening.

Even more with the current reputation PSN has.

It's the new megaupload.

He probably just cancelled their lifetime mega thing anyways, doubt he's that bothered about it. At least he tried to do something.

Why would you reward the people behaving poorly, or trust that they'd keep their word? Mr. Dotcom continues to show he's a moron.

If this isn't just a ddos due to the increase in holiday traffic (I haven't seen any actual evidence that it isn't, despite a CNN story), efforts should be focused on finding them and prosecuting them for the crimes they are committing.

Making unspecified threats of violence when the perpetrators haven't been identified yet is just a waste of time, and comes off as childish.

The company that makes the software and the map you are watching is based in STL which is the reason.

Wow did not know this. So they are creating the honeypots and we are probably not getting a true representation of actual attacks other than the ones they have baited.

Fuck it I'm not playing that game. They've been identified. You can find their names, addresses, and IPs. Now what?
