This is a gaming enthusiast forum so one would reasonably expect people to get upset over what is happening. Is this event something you are condoning? Or let's take it a step further and instead of a gaming network its something else that matters that is taken out? Maybe online banking or the like. This is a group of miscreants who have made bomb threats and have admitted to terrorist sympathies, so who knows how far they will go. But yes, let's instead focus on how trivial it is that thus person is upset he can't use something he purchased.

I know it's not their fault... but Sony's infrastructure is legit the worst ever. They need to be quicker to bounce back from these things once they stop getting hammered.

I've been waiting all year for my Christmas break to play. Had my cousin visiting in town and we were gonna co-op Temple of Osiris. This really sucks; I guess I'll have to wait till next year.

This is not the time nor the place to be pulling this kind of attitude. Take the temperature of the room. People are testy, rightfully so, since we're talking about three days of service outage, during one of the more important times of the year, caused in part by a specific group claiming responsibility for a massive DDoS attack against PSN and XBL. That something like this can even happen, is only now starting to really register with a lot of people, so it can come as a shock and raise tensions further.

I don't usually ask for freebies from video game companies when things like this happen, and I don't mean to here, but I have a feeling they (Sony/MS) will do so in some form or another (even though, I really don't think they should). While I don't currently have an XB1, I do believe Microsoft would be the more likely to give away something (a game, a month of XBL, etc) due to the fact that they've seemed to double down in their attempt to get XB1's into more homes via the price drops and, unfortunately for them, this bad press (even if it's not really their fault) could erase the momentum they have been building. Even though they are despicable, I do believe that Lizard Squad might be correct in that people might attempt to return their systems, believing them to be broken. If it wasn't Christmas, I wouldn't expect any giveaways, but due to the fact there was such an influx of new owners, it might be in the best interest of both companies to offer something.
As for a substitute I would recommend a good family board game if they can't play any titles together thats what me my parents and I did last night had a blast.
Tbh, you can probably call them now/when CS opens, and you could get compensation... especially if you're a plus member.

Honestly, stfu with this. I'm allowed to be pissed that I'm unable to play games, on my only days off this week, that I am actively paying a subscription fee for. If that rubs you the wrong way, well.. no one is forcing you to read the posts here.
In their interview they said it was to show the vulnerability of Sony and Microsoft, due to them being really cheap and not spending money on security stuff to stop these kinds of attacks or something.
