Giant Bomb GOTY 2014 - Destiny Has Brought Us Here

Are there any Dragon Age Inquisition spoilers in the Day 2 podcast? Then again, I don't even know if anyone outside of Rorie finished the game, so they probably didn't even nominate it for Best Story.

Yes they talk about it, I covered my ears during it so I'm afraid to find a timestamp for you.

Not really.

Maybe I should say I covered my ears during the DA:I talk I honestly can't say if there were spoilers there.

why do people keep going to this trash website

What's trash about it? I haven't necessarily agreed with their process in the deliberations and not familiar with a lot of the games they are pushing to win their Best of categories, but their overall presentation has been refreshing.

Not familiar with their day-to-day content though.

Everything will be spoiled even for guys who haven't played or finished the games on the podcasts. gotta take it for the team.

Shit, like ending spoilers? Did anyone at GB even finish Inquisition besides Rorie?

I'm probably further in than anybody at GB has played so I don't mind if its just first half of the game sort of spoilers.

You're good. They actually toss it off the list pretty quickly, and mostly just talk generally about "There's lots of political stuff in it."

Their hate for that moment in GZ ending is hilarious.

No Dragon Age spoilers ? Good i'm in the middle of it, i'm safe!

Anyone doing anything in particular while listening to the deliberation podcasts? For whatever reason, last year I wound up playing Receiver a lot while listening to them, it's very simple and pocast-friendly but there's something about the whole "process" of the game (even though it's not really a "game" exactly) that is compelling and easy to do mindlessly for big chunks of time.

Are they really dismissing
Bird Story
and
Left Behind
in a discussion about Best Story? That was my first "is this real life" moment of the cast. Hope there's more to come, because yelling at the GB GOTY discussions is one of my favorite things about this annual venture. But fucking hell man. Good on
The Fall
winning though, it's the only game I agreed should be a top runner.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't understand the fawning over Donkey Kong's soundtrack earlier this year.

Oh man, bad news for Bayo 2 fans hoping for Dan to fight for it as the site GOTY.
It's Dan's #3 behind Far Cry 4 and Mordor.

seein these nominations makes me unsure if sure i want to listen to this one... coming to these conclusions might be painful to hear.

Same. Every time someone links to music from that game, I feel like I'm hearing the built-in sample music from a Casio keyboard or something, like something you'd hear on an infomercial. I really do not understand the near-worship for that game.

Luftrausers' ost is okay at best, it's basically one song so it barely even qualifies. Definitely could be best song, though.

Yeah isn't there like the menu theme then the actual flying music? Pretty rad for 2 20 seconds loops to win best music I guess...

At the part where Patrick is about to explain Danganronpa and I'm getting a sense of wahjah right now. I don't think explaining Danganronpa's story works for people without actually experiencing it. Without its proper context, aesthetic, music and everything, it probably just sounds like dumb, throw-away anime nonsense when the DR games have great stories. Weird comparison, but I'm actually reminded of when Guilty Gear was brought up yesterday, and it was dismissed until they actually experienced it through videos.

DR is good but if they didn't bite on 999, Danganronpa isn't as strong as that game, so it probably wouldn't convince anyone.

I mean the initial premise and characters are kinda dumb anime nonsense... I like how they expand on that though and the characters go from being one dimensional or clichesto having some depth to them. Definitely very fun stories.

finally got the answer!

Guess a soundtrack can be pretty memorable when it's 2 songs and variations on a theme that are constantly beaten into your head via a quick, repetitive game loop.
