Giant Bomb GOTY 2014 - Destiny Has Brought Us Here

Yeah, but that's a bad Zelda, so of course they loved it.

Bayo2 vrs Middle Earth is this years X-com v Walking Dead.

3 months into next year no one will even remember those games existed.

Its been a real bummer of a year. Next year seems cool though. No way FF15 or Persona 5 are out next year though. At most I think Persona 5 will be out in Japan and the US release is delayed.

I have till them to set up a new US PSN account since I live in the EU and waiting for Altus to release something in the EU is a real bad idea.

But MGSV seems to have some of the crazy shit Jeff likes, and doesn't he like GZ sans some of the story stuff?

Eh, I think MGSV seems like it'll be more along the lines of 1 and 3. Jeff only like MGS for the quirky wacky stuff hence his incorrect opinion of thinking MGS 2 and 4 are the best ones.

MGO could be a wild card, though I'm not sure if that would fit into his mp tastes.

Dan actually has the perfect voice for a country folk band.

Got that husky, chain-smoking (or in his case chain-puking) sound.

I.... kind of want to buy singstar now

Singstar seems like it'd be excellent if they just dropped the pay-per-song model. Patrick had it best. Let me pay $10-$20, and just use the whole catalog for an evening. Same with with Rock Band. The people dictating the monetization for these games don't seem to realize how people want to use them.

None of the music I'm listening to sounds anything like that. The soundtrack is incredibly varied.

I agree. Dan was not prepared to make the case for DKTF. I believe him, because I played the game, so I know for sure it has awesome music; but more than half a year removed, trying to convince those who already are not as giddy for Nintendo...goooood luck.

Doesn't the PS4 have Joysoun I know the Wii U does, just not in NA region.

I imagine part of it is that the idea of renting music for an evening is not ingrained in many artist contracts.

I have not actually played Tropical Freeze yet but the music skipped to in the podcast and what I'm poking around on Youtube doesn't sound... great. I mean, I get that they got David Wise back, but the stuff I'm listening to doesn't sound much like the original DKC music. I love the weirder, more ambient tracks in that game. Am I just going to have to play Tropical Freeze to "get" it, or are there some standout tracks I should listen to?

Luftrausers didn't sound particularly interesting to me either, but it was funny hearing them lose their shit over some LFO'd synth pads

I think it's really funny how fast Jason and Jeff agreed with Vinny about the Vivienne thing. I don't even think Jeff played Dragon Age 2.

These are all just tactics to get rid of nominees they don't want. Maybe Vinny knew all along he was wrong, and just spouted total BS and hoped people took the bait. :)

Also, I think I remember hearing that Dan doesn't really listen to game music outside of games, which resulted in his hilarious attempt to recall any specific good tracks from Donkey Kong. Whether or not Tropical Freeze has a great soundtrack, I don't know, but that segment was worth it.

Dan only listens to Lynrd Skynrd and Thin Lizzy.

I'm really surprised Wolfenstein didn't crack Jeff's list. Did I just imagine multiple times on the podcast over the past few months when he was part of discussions praising it? Meanwhile, the extent of Mordor discussion I heard from him was that he wasn't liking it, but apparently hadn't unlocked the good abilities yet.

Not to say we need to have constant updates through the Bombcast or whatever, it's just weird to see jarring things like that.

I think Transistor should have won best music as the whole soundtrack (much like with Bastion) is phenomenal. Great vocal tracks, great instrumentals, even great humming. Such a beautiful soundtrack. Jeff's reason for Luftrausers (spelling?) was ok though and that is a neat idea (I've got the game and didn't notice it >.<). It does have that great heroic sounding bit in it though and it's great when it kicks in. I'm also super into the GG Xrd soundtrack but I don't expect anyone from GB to be into it at all and I'm just glad it won best graphics because it goddamn deserved it (not got Driveclub).

I believe Jeff didn't really like it.

actually now that i'm thinking about it

how is the music in bayonetta 2, people who have played bayonetta 2

All the music is catchy, but only like one or two tracks are particularly memorable.

The problem is the music is all really conducive to fighting and focusing on the fight and keeping you jazzed but you're never really focusing on it.
