Was quite surprised to see Luigi and Diddy Kong in Eb Games this morning. I thought it'd be quite a while before stores would get them in at all.
That's why I prefer using the more gender neutral "Amiigo" (even if it is derived from a "masculine" word)
I kind of like this one.

He's looking like the next wave 1 character to be discontinued. Pretty sure we've had some anecdotes in this thread of Nintendo reps saying as much. He's still not super tough to find but yeah.

Who knows. Target is being shitty about online pre-orders and only makes it available at crappy times of the night and for short periods. Best bet is to see if they do in-store pre-orders or to just show up first thing in the morning on release day.

online anyway. Unfortunately we only have walmart where I live and they don't even carry amiibos here. The nearest Target and TRU are over 20 miles away. So online is preferable for me.
With the exception of importing sites, the chances of getting to preorder her is pretty slim.
Target keeps trolling in the product page, as the button to order her is greyed out.
If that's true then I'm probably gonna swing by one of the GameStops in my area tomorrow and pick him up.

Too late. Europe may be your best option or you can try in store day of release. Prereleases are done in theory
$3 shipping isn't bad. Cool, might end up just buying it there soon.

The only reason I am looking online is because Mexico has been drained of almost anything Amiibo.
If you dont have preorders for wave 2, chances are you are getting nothing.
Plus that $250MXN Price tag, which translates to $18USD. A friend is helping me get them to his place and then when he comes and brings them over, I'll bathe in Amiibos...

Well you can try to get Rosalina at a Target store the day of release. You'll probably have luck if you can get there early.
Alternatively, Amazon.fr currently has two Rosalinas for about $37 US shipped, at least that's what it is showing up for me as. Could always sell the other one for double the money or maybe sell to a gaffer for cheap.

If it's anything like Wave 2 the biggest issue will be that we wont even have a release date.

Wave 1 wasn't too bad since we had a date and all of them released at once. Wave 2 was a disaster. No date released by Nintendo. We could only talk to the vendors. Awful. And it was split. Not a peek from Nintendo that it would be.

Yeah it's a bit silly. For some places like BB, Captain Falcon and Pit STILL haven't been released while some people I know have had theirs for a week now. I had a Diddy and a Little Mac from TRU a week before places like Target were selling them and some stores around here are still claiming those two aren't even out yet.

Damn that sucks. Yes the release date confusion is awful. In the city that is close to my small town in Northwestern Ontario they were selling them as soon as they got them.
I also wish we all didn't have to deem it necessary to have 2 preorders per Amiibo at different places because of their availability issues. We end up with extras and we take more supply because we can't trust Nintendo.
They really need to have a press release/apology. Or a Nintendo Direct about them. It is really awful as the customer.

Amigo means single (male) friend -> Amiigo
Amiga means single (female) friend -> Amiiga
You can add an "s" at the end of the words to denote more than one person.

Intentional or not, Nintendo has made amiibos the news, by having them become one of the most wanted holiday toys this season. They could have easily had been a commercial failure relegated to the bargain bin in a couple of months, but the scarcity has given them appeal. It will be interesting to see if the appeal holds and how Nintendo handles the situation. I hate to say it because I know many here don't want it, but I think scarcity is going to play a large role in keeping the amiibo market healthy for Nintendo. They need the collector market and the player market both. They re-release rare amiibos again, half of their market goes away.
It's still up in the air. From most of the retailers that I have went to, Nintendo had never specified when the rest of the Wave 2 Amiibo's will be shipping. A girl at EB Games said that they will come out in early Janurary, while a bloke at Target said they will be released in late-January/early-February.
