This is exactly right. Without Patrick it's a much, much smaller site. Not so much in content, but in the types of games they play, the communities with which they engage, and how they discuss video games. He'll be very, very hard to replace even without mentioning his occasional reporting.
Is there a ;TLDR summary to all this?
Now who will defend Yoshi's Island?

This job listing from back in early December makes a whole lot more sense now

I'm guessing Vinny and Alex will do some kind of podcast to replace Scoops and the Wolf.
I don't think you understand the concept of a "What If" very well.Yea because Sessler would come back from his probably quite well paying consulting gig to go back into editorial and reviewing games?
Aw, shit. Man, I was so stoked when he first started, I can't believe this. I guess that's the end of anything resembling discussion of social issues on GB. What a goddamn shame. Well, maybe Alex will pick up on that front, but damn, this is a huge bummer.

Especially from the complete lack of drama lately. /sYea because Sessler would come back from his probably quite well paying consulting gig to go back into editorial and reviewing games?
He booked a lot of interesting people on the E3 after show. That includes industry folk, indie devs, game writers. Shame GB might loose access to those sorts of people/games.
People were upset GB hired another white guy. Patrick favorited a bunch of their tweets. I guess people saw that as an endorsement.
Diversity for diversities sake? That's always cool. Come on, now that Dan's been at the site for a while is there honestly anyone who could have possibly fit in better with the GB culture? It's like a perfect fit.

Look forward to what he does next. One of the few actual game reporters. That like actually investigates and reports things and not just copy and paste Press releases
Now who will defend Yoshi's Island?
Hopefully no one.
What even is GB's front page without Patrick.
The ONLY thing I remember is that Patrick was disappointed they hired white males again. He wanted more diversity. A female maybe.
I could be wrong about this, it's been a while.
Agreed! Was this his longest stint at an outlet? He always seemed like someone who couldn't stay in one place for a long time
That said, with GB NY becoming an actual thing (hiring a new person, a real office, ect), he seemed really like an outlier. Hope we get a real podcast with Vinny Alex and others now, to fill the missing podcast home
On the bright side, a new East member will be great.
What are you talking about?I see that nobody is still explaining this supposed beef between Dan and Patrick lol.

Oo, is this true? I hope now that there are 3 of them, that they start a GB East podcast.
What are you talking about?
Didn't he tweet that he wouldn't want to do anything else? Strange.

Also the job listing says they would like to have someone speak Japanese if possible (and is in New York). What if Giant Bomb East isn't about the location of the studio but a focus on coverage from the east!? I'm blowing my on mind right now.
