So you know that guy flipping off the rare amiibo and having that awful video with him saying faggot? I got lucky and nabbed a Pit from gamestop last night, I ordered Captain Falcon from toysrus an hour ago and now I've taken the plunge to get Marth and Villager by ordering from Amazon.de, my friend managed to get a Little Mac for me that I will be getting tonight as a late xmas present along with Yoshi and Samus, I have all of Wave 3 pre-ordered for in store pickup except for the retailer exclusives (excluding Shulk).
So assuming the retail exclusives launch simultaneously it'll be Target first then Toys R Us and nab an extra Lucario or Rosalina to bargain with someone at Best Buy for Meta Knight if I get there too late. Unless they will let me do in store pre-orders still.

My local GameStop apparently has a Pit in stock, according to the online inventory. Tempting.
Call them, be sure they have it and ask them to hold it for you.

I somehow doubt it. I'm sure there are more than one scalpers named John in Michigan. The guy actually sounds well articulated in his listing, and he has almost perfect positive feedback after many transactions. That takes a lot of work, you can't be a douche to your customers like that John guy clearly is.
This seem like just another opportunistic scalper. Who probably won't make all that much money, at least not any time soon. Much of that batch is currently common.

This is exactly what I did to get my Pit. A friend of mine was kind enough to go pick it up for me.
Apparently they had 3 left and this one dude was trying to buy all 3 and threw a fit over it cause he couldn't since me and some other person called beforehand and put them on hold. Guess he planned on reselling them.
Also my Captain Falcon arrived today.
Now I have those two along with Kirby and Zelda.
*waits for Shulk to become available for preorder again*

You know why he's doing this, right? He isn't making the "mad stacks" he thought he would. So he's trying to dump them all and recoup something before he gets stuck with them all. Sucks to be him, people aren't as stupid as he thinks they are.

Oh man, after days and days of searching for Pit, I finally snagged one!
I have been to countless Meijers, Wal-Marts, Gamestops, Best Buys, Targets, ect and couldn't find Pit at all. I decided to walk into one of my favorite second-hand shops today that also carried collectibles. Among all of the Marios and Kirbys sat one lone Pit. I snagged it up with the quickness!
Now all I need is Captain Falcon and I have all wave 2 figures. I need Kirby, Marth and Wii Fit Trainer and I'll have all of wave 1. I'm getting there!

I installed Apple Pay and saw this morning Target had charged me. I'm worried about that pre-order more than anything else since it was three levels of luck by which I got it in the first place. Fortunately the CC I used expires in 2019....

I'll probably end up being way wrong, but my logic here is that they will save the unlockable characters for last.
And the sad thing about that is, I bought the European version just the other day for only $21. It's the exact same toy. As a collector I'm thrilled prices are so high, but I feel bad for people that might not know any better.

It won't stop going up until they either make more or nobody cares about amiibos any more. I could see it reaching double that. The prices have been steadily rising for a month now.
Why does Gamestop have to put those awful stickers on the boxes? Also, why did they have to bend the corner of my box. Ridiculous. LOL. Actually I have no idea how the box was damaged, they just sold it to me like that.

Yeah you got to figure he spent about $900 for 72 amiibos. Right now he is out that much and is sitting on stock that he can't sell. Honestly, I think if he waits long enough, say another month or two, he can sell them all. Of course that depends on if Nintendo doesn't restock anything. In the mean time, $900 is a lot of cash to be missing. He misjudged the market, obviously since he is trying to sell them all immediately.

If you wanted to screw him over, buy a little Mac from him and doing a claim over some insignificant blemish in the packaging so that he's forced to refund a portion of the selling price. Try to get it for $13 retail.
There is zero that a seller can do against a buyer claiming this, because the newer policy is that for any claim of item not as described the seller must pay return shipping. So he pays to get it back or he refunds you to keep it.
I'm not sure that's any better behavior than what this reseller is doing honestly. Two wrongs don't make a right and all that.
Sad thing is, he could easily sell Little Mac, Pit, Captain and maybe even Fox for 40 bucks on ebay right now, that is 24 amiibos, that is 960 bucks and that way he can recover what he invested, but that leaves him with a lot of stock that he either has to return or sell for retail price, losing money for shipping/gas.
He spent $900 and is trying to sell for like $1450 or something just to be able to lease a new car or something. For a scalper, he seems to not be very good with money.
And from the looks of that fake sunflower pot and cat ornament on the dryer, he still lives with his parents.
Poor scalper John. You were so close to getting your parents off your back for living in their basement at 30 years old. Instead, you now share said basement with 100 uncommon amiibos and only your precious salty tears while your parents nag at you to get a real job.

I said no, since I want to keep it in case I need it for a rare trade down the line.

I'll be making a little money off of amiibos. But there is making a little money, and then there is that photo posted above.
Walmart charges you on preorders. not sure about back orders. If I get it I won't care they are saying mid January but Im going to want that money back if Feb gets close and no news.
He is uncommon, but not rare. If you want a complete collection get one for you, but it seems no one else is worried about him now.
You can buy him on Amazon right now and for the last week. Probably not many needing him anymore.
Word. I was just thinking of picking some up and offering them at retail plus shipping for anyone on GAF or elsewhere that might need him.
