You know the irony of it? Most nice guys have a hard time finding a date. At least those I know. I'm a nice guy at heart, but that never works for me with the ladies. Usually, I'm judged as a bad boy type based on my looks. A few dates go by, and I slide into my niceguy natural state. End of relationship -_-

This is a myth. people need to be nice to each other in order for the relationship to work, so this goes for both sides. it can get out of balance either way though (being "not nice enough" or giving too much and receiving less) , this is usually when it gets destructive but it has nothing to do with women not liking nice guys. at least in my experience. of course there are also people who can't really deal with affection due to bad experiences or mental issues but that's something else

Shit! You might be the dude! I've been looking to put together a musical GAF project. I was thinking of recording a 2 or so minute rhythm, passing it to one gaffer to add upon, so on and so forth. I'd be glad to get started tonight if anyone's down.

We can try, though there's such a diverse range of musical styles and tastes that it may be quite weird. Also, never finished the last GAF music project I embarked on, so apologies in advance if I turn out to be a complete jerk.
I can contribute something if you envision some sort of thing that roots-rock/Americana might encompass (some country, a lot of blues).

Upload a lossless recording (.wav or .aif would be best). If you need a place to upload, PM me and I'll send you the URL for a dropbox on my web server for files up to 100MB (which was fucking huge when I wrote it). Not sure where we go from there. Keep uploading tracks as separate files for ultimate mixing?

That could be fun. I've never really recorded stuff I've played, but I have acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, and electronic drum set...and also a didgeridoo that I got as a Christmas gift.

Is it possible to use Audacity in this project? I feel like this would be pretty cool for everyone to mix their contribution in. Ultimately, if we have a producer in the audience, they have all the separate audio tracks to work with.

Don't write me off until you've heard me play, but I'm totally self taught and don't know much about the disciplines of music. Luckily, my music covers my humanity requirements, so hopefully that changes by spring.

ooh I've been meaning to give lost a second chance since I've never really gotten into it before but everyone keeps talking about it which is kinda impressive I think.

Do it do it. It's such a fun ride. You may be of the opinion that it doesn't stick the landing in the end (I love it though, I don't curr), but the ride is super fun.
It's my favourite show ever.

I also had a Waits image prior to my real pic avatar. Dude's my hero.
I should really do a watch through. I tried to ignore it the first couple seasons so I could watch through it all when it was over. I still saw episodes sporadically in the first three seasons, though. Then I moved in with people who watched the show and became addicted during the fourth season and watched through the end of the series. But I've still not seen a good chunk of the first three seasons.
You totally missed the best seasons in that case. First 3 are really solid television.
