Listening to Run the Jewels with my mum in the room, she doesn't like it

I unironically prefer twin snakes

Come at me bro

I've only played MGS 2 while having the collection. I should play the rest some time.

Although I get utterly confused when I hear people saying things like it is the best game ever with an incredible story.

So confused that I feel like replaying it even though it has only been like two years.

Well I used to think that MGS had an awesome story but then I got older. They have some emotional moments but looking back on a lot of it now, it's just terrible in a lot of ways. I think MGS3 is the best but despite being a 1960's period piece it's still filled with silliness.

I'm fucking covered in bees

I only got past the intro of MGS3. I still haven't managed to figure out the controls in the games. Took a while to figure out they were pressure sensitive, but I think they changed some things in the HD collection too.

I did enjoy MGS2 though. But God does the overwhelming amount of the story just make me cringe. I could understand liking it in a completely insane kind and entertaining sort of way, but I figured out that wasn't what people were talking about.

When I said MGS3 was the best I was referring to the plot; the actual game itself is where the controls reached peak overload with pressure sensitive buttons and too many different commands. It's awkward to do anything when one button is punch but also if you half press it lightly it's grab. Jesus what were they thinking.

MGS4 throws out the MGS2/3 control scheme in favour of something completely new and it's a big improvement on that front.

I didn't even learned all of the mechanics while playing through MGS2, I am sure at the start in MGS3 I walked against pretty much every trap.

Someday I'll watch a tutorial and finish the rest of the game. Purely for some of the interesting mechanics and boss fights.

Then again, MGS4 also has the worst story of them all. So much retconning and stupid fan service.

Without posting spoilers, I thought most of the fan service was cool, initially, but then I realised how much time was wasted on that when the initial pitch (Snake might die at any moment and is fighting on a battlefield with 2 factions indifferent to him) for MGS4 was way cooler but was never capitalized on in the full game.

I love MGS4 but for very different reasons. I'm sure it has something to do with being an end to a long journey ever since playing MGS1 for the first time in 1999. By the end of MGS4 I had this bittersweet feeling that it's all over and yes I'll admit, I teared. That final fight with Ocelot was cathartic.

I dislike it but I don't hate it that's for sure. My problem with it is that it's hard not to compare it to the OG when it's trying to be the OG. The best thing about Twin Snakes for me is the graphics but that's about it.

I'm ashamed to admit my top tier instruments are a Hammer Explorer and a Line 3 amp

Nothing to be ashamed about (besides, Hamer makes some nice guitars). I had a period in my life of seven years of debt-free professional employment that I spent buying guitars (~1/year). I was only debt-free due to the privilege of having wealthy-enough parents. Not everyone is so fortunate or would chose that particular discretionary hole over another.

You must have some decent recording equipment. How did you capture that sound so smoothly? My recording was via my iPhone lol.

It's an electric guitar plugged into my Mac (in this case via the Rocksmith cable, but I have other methods). Amp was all software (see screenshot in the post you quoted). Was mic'ing an amp and a loud acoustic until some insensitive jerk announced she was going to bed at midnight. I should dump her and make a thread about it.

If you get an external interface for the iPhone you can do some pretty amazing things. e.g. Apogee MIC or even the iRig line.

When on earth did you lose your junior junior tag? :0

He did some online shopping.

Okay, back after a couple cocktails. I threw something into the pot, Skullface.
Real Gaf Blues

Excellent.

Twin Snakes is the superior version of MGS1. MGS is at it's best when it's crazy and dumb, so railing backflips and missile kicks are right up my alley.

This how I feel about Kingdom Hearts. When I was a wee lad, I loved the story in it and thought it was great! Then I got older and realized how terrible and convoluted it really is. I still love it, but it's certainly a guilty pleasure...like my enjoyment of FFXIII.

And yeah, I enjoyed Twin Snakes more than the original MGS1.

Our street is a destruction derby this morning because there is a thin veneer of ice covering everything and people are like "yup I can do this" when they really really can't.

Happens every year too.

"FOX!!"

I remember paying $15 for a used PS1 copy of metal gear solid back in like 2000 and just being blown away while playing
Kojima the god :')

I do hate the temperature key card x proximary mine section towards the end, I always touch a mine even when avoiding it :/

The first time I beat MGS3 was on 3DS, no regrets , it was a decent port.

Crushed aspirin and honey? Depends on the cause though really.

any tips on how to cure a sore throat? It's not hurting or anything, I just can barely talk and I have to give a presentation on monday :l

Tea with honey, hot soup, gargle with warm salt water, and throat losanges. I had a terrible sore throat of my life a couple months ago and these helped quite a bit.

thanks guys, havent tried that salt and water thing yet so will give that a chance

haha and everything I say will instantly sound smart because I sound like steven hawking?

Yes, after some time make sure to fall down and say that your brain allocates no more power to your legs to improve your mental capacity.

Everyone will awe at your intelligence and be completely convinced of whatever you say.
