Halo 5: Guardians Beta Thread | Hot Red on Blue Action

WHICH FORGE MAP DO YOU WANT TO SEE NEXT IN THE BETA?

Your first choice is Orion, an asymmetrical map with two defensible towers where teams will need to battle for control of the Energy Sword, Hydra MLRS, and Sniper Rifle to dominate.

Next is Pegasus, a large map with long sight lines and lots of opportunities to flank or lay grenade cover. This is a map where teams will definitely want to take advantage of higher ground. You’ll also find the Rocket Launcher and LightRifle here - a crucial long to mid-range weapon for defending against the enemy team.

I feel like we should vote for Pegasus just because of the RL. Only power weapon we haven't got to use, I'd like to know how big the blast radius is.
 
Can't say I'm really feeling the shoulder charge move. More often then not I'm rushing in to back melee a player completely miss with the charge. Maybe I just need more practice.
 
Im bronze 3 and moving up. I think silver will be my max unless i play with a good squad to get to gold.

That's my goal. Gold level. Currently at 3.0 KDA and 41% accuracy

Other bronzes i play seem to suck but im on the way up. Im just a decent player. No pro. mid 40's max in halo 3

I like the ranking system. Makes you work harder

I agree. Definitely needs a nerf. Thankfully I have never been on the receiving end of the Hydra being used like that. Though I suspect many people will now be using it like that and when it is used like that automatically makes it one of the most powerful power weapons in any Halo game (at least IMO).
 
Holy shit. Breakout with a party is friggen incredible. Down 4 rounds to 1 and came back. Tense as fuck. That's Halo right there. All about the win.
 
Someone finds a useful way to use the Hydra, and everyone screams nerf it! lol

The thing barely ever gets used, and I still doubt it's as easy as that GIF makes it seem.
 
Played a 3v4 and it ended in a tie. I got no skill points at all for the game. I know it was a tie but it was a 3v4 MAN... :-)
 
Crap, I didn't realize there was still going to be forge maps. Was hoping remix maps would take that over. Having some concerns on how many original maps there will be though the remix maps have been unique from the original versions.

Nerf it? The thing is so useless that half the time people don't even bother picking it up when it spawns.

With remixes and 2 forge maps present in the beta it kind of makes me think a lot of the resources are going towards big team battle

Yea it's super easy to avoid if you know someone has it.

Edit: 16 player customs with only Hydras could be hilarious with everyone having a 100-200% speed boost.

I complained often about Reachs god awful matchmaking where we would get steaks stupidly often (740 out of 1032 games) and how can I complain about the other team getting the potatos when it rarely happens because "team balance". It's the same shit as Reach. Balance the team by putting the very worst in the game with the very best instead of, you know, not putting potatoes in the game to begin with.

Even worse, because of this pathetic "placement match" system, incredibly bad players are getting into ranks they have absolutely no business being in entirely based on chance. Yup, that's right, placement games are 100% chance based. Even worse, 2 players can play in the exact same games on the same team and get vastly different ranks. 2 of my friends played all of their breakout placement matches together winning 9/10. One friend gets silver 2 the other in the pro bracket. Yup, totally amazing system.

2 gold, 2 unranked vs. 4 onyx. Get smashed 10-50. What a steaming pile of shit.

2 gold, 2 unranked vs. 2 semi-pro, onyx and gold. Some guy went 1-18 on my team, playing on some American garbage tier connection too. Enjoy pumping 5 shots in everybody while they always kill you on a quarter of your shield.

What a garbage game.

I tried it just before and it is a bit tricky. You need to get the timing right and it's hard to find that sweet spot.

I dont think its going to happen, even though it will be for a better experience for sure

I got bored from wishing every time I connect to an EU server to play a lag-free game

But still, I get connected to US Servers which honestly sometimes only I dont get any lag
 
I haven't had a chance to play the beta yet but been watching a lot of streams and this game is looking really fun. I'll definitely be buying next year and grinding with my friends.
 
I'm playing in Belgium and almost every match has been lagg free, so probably played on Eu servers most of the time. Matchmaking needs to change a bit. Often the most skilled players are put together in a team or you lose because the rest of your team sucks. I lost my last three matches while I always got over 25 kills and under 10 deaths

Everytime I play, I pray to the guardians that it will be a euro server.

I think as well that they will two fingers to everyone on this issue. Just like bungie before them, I get the impression that they think that they know best.

I see no harm in letting the player choose whatever server he wants

I mean it was great in Titanfall and I swear I didnt play a single laggy game in Titanfall

Titanfall, 47ms of gaming bliss. I have never had a laggy game either. Never been shot around a corner, traded a kill or once felt cheated.

It would be such a shame if they dont give ur the same.
