Football Thread 2014/2015 |OT11| This Is Our Year!

Happy 24th birthday to Eden Hazard. What a player. What a father. What a sexy beast.

what the hell happened last night :lol

I had to leave between halves, and OF COURSE we conceded as soon as I left -_-

such a shame we were dynamite in the first half

What a stupid goal to concede :lol Bonucci's a fucking halfwit so no surprise there, but Buffon coming off his line was equally as halfwitty

we are a team of halfwits, cripples and a player who doesn't even want to be here anymore.

Seems like its Romas year after all.

at absolutely no point this season it wasn't theirs

Martin Ødegaard is currently in Madrid with view to finalising a deal with Real, according to (well-informed) @mortenstokstad

They never learn.

This is hilarious by all accounts. So many clubs in Europe to choose from and then you at up in Madrid. I seriously thought this kid was kind of smart and his parents were guiding him well. Visiting multiple clubs and checking things out. And then he does this :lol

There's an interview with a guy called Martinez Vilaseca in the DM. He used to work for Barcelona for 30 years. This is what he says:

'The latest signing is Marco Asensio,' Vilaseca continues, 'We have extraordinary hopes for him. All the English clubs wanted him. Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham. Barcelona wanted him but he has just signed for Real Madrid on a six-year contract. He is 18, he will join them on pre-season in the summer.'

He says he's the next Messi and will win the Baloon Door. Get hype.

Can't link it cos DM is banned but you can find it on their site, article by a guy called Adam Crafton.

He really is an idiot. He could have chosen Real Madrid in 3 years when he's more ready for first team football in a league as tough as La Liga and in a team like Real Madrid where it's really hard to gain playing time. I honestly thought he would choose Ajax.

Even Liverpool would have made more sense. Of all the clubs I can think of Real Madrid would possibly be the worst one to pick for a young kid.

he was gonna choose Juve but he changed his mind after watching our second half

KidA, did you watch our cocaine one touch football™ (first half) last night? Vidal's goal, Pogba's almost goal...I can't

One of these days, I'm going to go back when the news broke we were buying Isco and quote all of the salty fuckers who said he wasn't going to make it at Madrid and had chosen the wrong club.
dnaO1RN.png

What does Isco got to do with this?

Similar situation, young player going to Madrid and all the usuals in here moaning about how dumb young player is for choosing Madrid, assuming for no reason he'll never get playtime. Isco's importance in the first team proves this stance as wrong, and regardless, Odegaard has to go through Castilla first anyway, where he's got fucking Zinedine Zidane coaching him.

Honestly, it just reeks of salt. If he's good like everyone is hyping him up to be, he'll make it in the first team. Simple.

I think it's a bit different, because Isco was a proven youngster in La Liga, who's this new guy?

Isco came as a starter from a big La Liga side for 30 million euros. Isco was 20 iirc when he made the move. Ödegaard can't be more different from Isco in any aspect of this whole deal.

And we all know Madrid isn't exactly known for giving it's youngsters a good chance of getting into the first team coming from La Castilla. Their club culture is the opposite rather.

So fucking stupid lol.

It really is sensational. How do you go and see multiple clubs, then decide on madrid of all teams. The place where u20s go to murder their career lol.

Except he's much much younger and is coming from the Norwegian League.

He's so young that he could have chosen another club and still have chosen to play for Real Madrid before he hits 20 years old.

Claiming "muh salt" is so dumb. I clearly said in my post that he could choose Real Madrid in 3-4 years.

Play semantics all you want, the moaning was the same "won't get a chance" "youngsters never do well at Madrid" "won't develop" "big mistake" bla bla bla yaaaawwwnn

And Castilla players do get their fair chance IF good enough, quit it with the drivel.

It's like talking to a wall with you Plug.

And now the typical retreat when nothing else can be said :lol

The bullshit regarding Madrid and cantera players is only perpetuated because Barca gives their cantera much more playing chances. Madrid gives their kids a fair shake just as much as any other big team. It's beyond boring to hear people claim otherwise at this point.

He's Norwegian, I mean...how good can he really be? Unless you can turn them into Swedes?

Yeah, the norwegian thing has me a bit iffy on him, but the youtube scouting has been legit :lol

I'm sure he'll get his chance when the team has Ronaldo, Isco, Bale, Jese, that can all play in the front 3. The fact that you brought up Jese, who only started to play regularly for Real Madrid at age 20/21 is hilarious.

Odegaard just turned 16. He's hyped up because he has world class potential and it's evident at age 16. That doesn't mean he's ready to play for Real Madrid in a league as good as La Liga.

He should have chosen a club like Ajax to further his development for 2-3 years and then gotten a transfer to Real Madrid. That would make a lot more sense.

.....and that's why he's going to Castilla. When did I ever say he's getting into the first team right now?

You're responding with meaningless gifs and you clearly know nothing about this boy. This discussion is not about Madrid vs. Barca either.

We're talking about a Norwegian kid with little to nothing experience who just turned 16. All we know about him is that he outperforms a shitty league and got some serious talent. He's got pretty much all big clubs and a couple of smaller ones to choose from in Europe. And after doing an extensive European tour he ends up at the one club in Europe that is the least likely one to succeed at.

On top of that, from all the 16 year olds that went to big clubs hardly anyone actually made it. There's been so many Dutch players who made transfer to City, Chelsea, Man. United, Juventus and other clubs at the age of 16 only to end up in eastern Europe or back in the Eredivisie. It's just not a smart move since big clubs are always more likely to just buy another expensive but arrived player as opposed to giving youth a fair chance.

It's not even confirmed we're signing him, it's going to be hilarious when it turns out hes going to Bayern and this discussion was for naught

Which is why he should have chosen Ajax where he could get first team football in a team better than Real Madrid's B team.

It's a level below La Liga, where he can further develop his attacking qualities, and receive a great footballing education. It just makes more sense.

He's good enough for first team football, just not at the level of La Liga or PL. So really, it has nothing to do with Real Madrid. He flat out shouldn't go to a club in the PL or La Liga right now. I've said it a while ago that he should avoid Barca too.

No need to rile up Pogba (what a sensational typo, I mean to type Pulga)

I'd pick Madrid's castilla over any other team as well. Developing at Madrid is enough to hype up your profile anyway, just look at the likes of Mata, Soldado, Negredo and fucking Morata for example

or something, right?

who the hell picks a B team over first team football

There's a reason Morata's playing at Juventus mate. Madrid and youngsters don't mix too well.

But those are all Spanish players, for whom it's only natural to enjoy their education at a Spanish top club if they have the talent. Sadly for Ödegaard he's already beyond the level of Norwegian football so he has to move on now. And I personally wouldn't say it's a smart choice to go to a club with a galacticos culture.

Unless there's something really exceptional about him he wouldn't make our first team either. He would probably get in with the team that plays in the baby champion's league, like Muric for example. As a start at least. If it turns out he's developing faster than anyone else thing can go quick though. We usually have the very talented ones debuting at 17 or 18. Most of them won't be starter yet, but they will get some game time and train with the first team. For example, two of our youh players are in Qatar right now with the first team. Doesn't mean they will get in for the rest of the season, but they get a little taste of what's ahead of them. They're surely the most talented of the pack since they were picked by Frank personally.

Linny you're just jealous he picked Madrid just ADMIT IT

are we seriously arguing over a Norwegian? He'll never amount to anything :lol

Firstly, it's not meaningless since it features Jese, a Castilla player, scoring in a Clasico, proving youngsters get their fair shake with the first team.

I completely agree getting into the Real Madrid first team and succeeding is astoundingly difficult, probably the hardest club in the world to do it, but if this kid turns out to be as amazing as his potential indicates (from my exhaustive YouTube scouting and all the knickers he's twisting), he'll have no problem at all making it in. He's got all this time under Zidane to acclimatize to Spain's second division, I think he'll be tearing up La Liga in four years time. Please come back to quote me in 2020 m8.

Madrid are as bad as Chelsea and City when it comes to development of youth.

No matter what you do in training, in the current set up your never going to get a shot of having a consistent run in the first team. Baring a catastrophic injury to the first team and even then you'd be lucky. It's not just about being good enough, talent is only half of it when it comes to development of youth. They need time to adjust playing at that tempo, facing challenges from fully grown men, pressure of crowds etc. you can have all the talent in the world but that doesn't mean your going to be a good/great footballer.

Which is why a 16 year old going to real Madrid is one of the worst decisions he could have made.
