So you're telling me you aren't obama? **mindblown

If thats the case, i'll go back to my Captain America avatar.
J/K

I'll just pretend he's Obama and then tell people that I know Obama personally and he's very self-deprecating apparently.

Having been born and raised in New Mexico and currently living in Pittsburgh, I'll take Pittsburgh weather all day err day.

I paid to take a class 400+ seminar class that i need in order to graduate. Classes during winter session is usually harder since its covering a whole semester in 3 weeks :S My friend recommended me some prof he took via Ratemyprof (i don't know if you're familiar with the site ) so the prof is easy but the workload is a lot. So when spring comes around i'll breeze my way til graduation since i knocked the hardest class off.
Godbless Ratemyprof
Otherwise i should be on vacation spring semester starts on the 28th.

yeah i should be resting! i'll take a nap once i get home.

Holy shit dude, 3 weeks for a semester worth of class? That's pretty balls to the wall.

I just left a scathing review for my psychology professor on ratemyprof. We had all these asinine exercises that never seemed relevant to me. That and she was awful at turning back assignments and tests. I didn't get my midterm back until the day of the final. I got apathetic and wound up skipping 3 classes in total. It's the only class I didn't get an A in
i got a B
. I shouldn't complain, but I feel like I should have gotten a C at best.

My GPA is currently around 3.3 i could do better but i'm just lazy, i have a bad habit that if i know i can get an easy B+ ill stop there and not push for the A. Plus my campus is located in Midtown Manhattan so there's mad bars, distractions, times square is a few blocks away and well... you know how it goes >.>

I know the feeling. It's the same thing in Boston bro. My GPA is just above 3.5. I've got to do better than that though because I want to transfer to UMass. To do that, I have to maintain a 3.33 GPA and 3.5 is just way to close for comfort. Well, I could go to UMass either way, but I won't get free tuition and a price per credit break.

RateMyProfessor was my Bible during my undergraduate.

It didn't help me all that much when I went back, only because I was pretty much locked in with specific professors for specific classes and just had to brace for impact in the case that one was terribad. Of course that did happen, but knowing how he worked went a long way in getting an easy A in both classes with minimal work.

I have to schedule my classes so I can work and go to school, so Rate My Professor is the last of my considerations. I didn't check it at all for this semester and wound up with one professor that has terrible reviews. Luckily it's for music theory instead of something I know nothing about; middle eastern literature.

Yea ratemyprofessor was the best.

RateMyProfessor is legit, this way in spring i just focus on my dispute resolution certificate.

Never used it during my school years but my SO went by it and even participated in it with a specific prof (which will be unnamed) of who she eventually became great friends with and came to respect despite their awful rating on the site.

To be fair, they were rated as "too harsh" in grading and teaching.

Wow, I've only seen this once in my life... School cancelations over temperature in my area. I might get the day off work.

I remember school getting canceled once in Hawaii because we had a tsunami warning (this was early ‘90s). My brother and I were so happy, lol. Thankfully, the “tsunami” turned out to be about 2 or 3 inches but I do remember people freaking out.

yeah sometimes people are beyond lazy and throw bad reviews in just cause. Although it's somewhat helpful.

Reus is awesome! Last time I played it was when my 3 yr old nephew was visiting over the summer. He kept calling it the Lobster Game. Lol.

I bought tropico too, but I've never played it.
It's neat but hard! And I can't cheat because apparently no one has a guide anywhere online. :(

I'm guessing you go to one of the CUNY's? I contemplated taking a class during winter session, but I figured the rest and time off for doctor's appointments would be better.

What are you studying?

And yes, RateMyProfessor is amazing. Unfortunately, the Math & Stats department at my school doesn't typically list the professors for each section until way after the registration period. I always try to rate professors when the semester ends. Now I'm wondering if I did that for this semester. D:

Ha, people freak out here all the time when it comes to hurricanes. The last devastating one we had was in I think '92. In '11, we were bracing for hurricane Irene. It was a hell of a night. First, me and my girl get invited to a hurricane party. We stopped at a 7/11 to get beer and I had to perform the heimlich on her when she choked on a hotdog. Then I got a call from work where I was ordered to spend the night at my office to protect our server from flooding at all costs. We had virtually no rain and some strong winds. I hate hurricane season -_-

Good eye pau fellow NYorker? Criminal Justice (Institutional Theory and Practice) (BS) and Dispute Resolution double majoring atm done in spring XD. The plan is to start working in US customs and get that discount (help) to do my masters ;P

Although before that i'm doing an internship dealing with kids who are having trouble adjusting to life after parents file divorce, should be interesting.

You're so lucky, you're almost done. ;-; Dispute Resolution sounds very fancy. Good luck in the internship!

Probably haven't been here enough to call myself a NYorker :P, but yeah, I go to a CUNY school. Also double majoring, in Statistics and Sociology.

I wanted an internship at the developers of Reus but they weren't searching for a designer. :(

Did sort of meet a developer though.
Have you gotten an internship in the industry elsewhere?

Sounds fancy but in reality it's just a bunch of sociology classes. it pretty much consists of debates and mediation, last semester we practiced mediation sessions it was pretty cool until the final came around and we were recorded trying to solve a dispute between two parties. Intimidating but awesome at least I become cerfitified looks good on my resume.

Sadly not yet, working on that.

Maybe they need an animator, Steve.

Man, I have been going at this all wrong. All this time I was deliberately ignoring all the art aspects.

(Actually I do have same animated proof of concept videos in my portfolio)

Has anyone else here just ignore what they did for their undergrad and went on a different career route/masters program? Studied Criminology, discovered it was worthless, landed a two-year gig in Public Health overseas, and now I'm looking at possibly doing it for my Masters when I return state side.

Also my role model in life is Goofy. Did I make the right decision?

everytime mutes posts something I have to imagine him saying it with the exact same face in his avatar, which makes everything instantly sound high pitched & sarcastic
