As others have mentioned, Spartacus is a steaming pile of turd for the first few episodes, then quickly ramps up, eventually becoming my favorite show of all time.

Gannicus' last fling was the hottest chick

Not the greatest of actresses though. I'd rather see Viva Bianca or Lesley-Ann Brandt. Erin Cummings was also pretty great, but we didn't really see much of her.

I'm telling you FlashGAF, Ganicus is going to be Richard Dragon. Somebody tell me that isn't perfect casting. If you do, you're insane. I would also use, what was his name Daltore(?) as O-sensei. I would just continue farming Spartacus alumni on both shows.

Oooohhh I have another one. Use the antagonist in season 2 of Spartacus as the voice of Grodd. The guy that said, "I'm a f!@#$ng Praetor!" Yeah, that guy would be awesome as his voice. That's how I imagine Grodd speaking. Or even the ultra humanite... ah man.

oooohhh ooohhh ooohhh FlashGAF, how about that same guy('I'm a f!@#$ng Praetor!') as Vandal Savage.... come one, come on. You know it's good.

It should be. Because they already have 1 'immortal'(use loosely of course not really immortal but, a really old guy) in Arrow. I don't see why they wouldn't add him. They play with his origin however they like, he could be a flashback character on Arrow, also if flash starts to use the
cosmic treadmill, we can do a Hiro Nakamura kind of story with Kensei.

Oh the ideas.

That would be really sweet. Barry could time travel to various time periods, but he would always be there, looking the same.

But Heroes is an awful show, and I hope they don't parallel that crap in any way.

Oliver killed Richard Dragon in pilot :D
Yeah, but
Count Vertigo and Weather Wizard
are dead, too, and it's not like they aren't coming back.

It has less to do with Spartacus and more to do with hiring actors who can play to the physicality of the roles.

That's why they have Kaie Cassidy actually working out in preparation for where her character is going.

too bad her acting skills are shit, saying alot from arrow
Her face was frozen in the first half of season 2 due to what I can only imagine were the effects of plastic surgery. She's improved a lot since but it's hard for me to get over how painful it was to watch her during those episodes. Caity Lotz though... let's just say I'm glad her character kicked the bucket

It has to do with Spartacus in the fact that Spartacus is one of the few shows where actors were actually trained to become these incredible muscled fighters. They have both the muscles and the fighting skills to do a show like Arrow without needing and endless supply of stuntmen. Spartacus had an amazing bootcamp that could whip anyone into shape really quickly. And if you look at some of the amazing fighters in Arrow, that bootcamp is still paying off. And I wonder, Liam was only chosen for Spartacus after doing the bootcamp for two months. Would that mean Stephen also did the bootcamp before Liam was picked?

I don't think Stephen did the bootcamp actually. He was eliminated from the casting pool in November while Liam was held on to and not officially decided on until January. That would seem to suggest that the time between those points was when Liam went through the bootcamp.

But for my original point, what I'm saying is that it's not like say.. Joss Whedon pulling from his previous casts for new shows, where he's selecting people he likes working with and frames the characters around them (to an extent) but that they're just picking actors who can handle the physicality. They can just as easily pick Non-Spartacus actors that have a physical background. Like Caity Lotz.

Strange because I thought they were first considering not getting Liam because of his physique and his bootcamp performance had him narrowly beat out Stephen. Or maybe it was just his willingness to do the bootcamp already that was also a plus.

The Deadline article I read had said they narrowed it down to Liam, Stephen, and one other and were about to fly them out to New Zealand to meet with the cast and production crew. Later that week they updated to say none of the three had gotten the part but they kept Liam out there while they released the other two. About two months later in January they announced Liam had gotten the part.

The bootcamps were in New Zealand weren't they?

It really should be The Flash Hype Van:

Yeah, he'd work. It'd be cool to see him.

I just started watching this show this week and holy shit it's way better than i expected (on episode six). I watched the first two seasons of Arrow a couple months ago and liked it for the most part , but the CW melodrama and more love triangles than i could count really dragged it down from greatness, as much as i love Slade. I kinda viewed it as a guilty pleasure.

Flash is so much better though. Better acting, less CW-ish, and only one love triangle which is actually reasonable. I'm not sure a live action super hero show could get much better than this. I'm really impressed. I really like the guy playing Barry too.

If that Teen Titans show turns out as good as this, I'll be ecstatic, since the cartoon was one of my favorites when i was younger.

Case in point, Lucy Lawless. People claim that she was at her prime in Xena, but I beg to differ.

You also get to see Captain Boomerang being the sleaziest turd in the world

And Nyssa al Ghul in her birthday suit. A lot. Google that at your own peril.

Spartacus is such a hidden gem. I have no idea how I found the show, but man, the first 2 seasons were so awesome. I consider myself someone who enjoys the "finer" side of TV (Mad Men, Sopranos, Breaking Bad etc.) but Spartacus is still one of my favorite few seasons I've ever watched of a show. Make it through the first 4 episodes and you are in for a fucking treat. Awesome action, fun story and hottest topless women you will find in pretty much any show.

Really sucks the main guy died of cancer.
