Playstation TV Thread: Vita Who?

Ok... been wanting a Vita TV for a bit now, so close to getting one. Some questions. Only have an 8GB lying around to use with it. I have Demon Gaze, Monpiece, Sword Art Online, MH Freedom Unite, Freedom Wars...

Those all seem to work. Should I get one? Cheapest they can be found retail is 79.99 NA right now yeah? So close...

EDIT: 4 hours and not a single reply?? Maybe I shouldn't get one.

Does monpiece actually work?

edit: nvm apparently the US version does but JP doesn't

Been out of the loop here for a while... is there any new way to switch PSN accounts without factory reset?

Does monpiece actually work?

I don't know for sure, but the Wiki link posted earlier indicated that it did, but US only. The GameFAQs link posted earlier just said "Yes".

We shall see if I don't go insane in the next 100 years that it will take me to flag and download every single DLC of forever for SAO and Freedom Wars... one at a time. (on a PSN Download List that just puked all over itself and lost it's 'by latest download' sort last week when I switched from yearly to 3 month PS+ membership.... ugh)

Just chiming in with love for Playstation TV. I got one for Christmas and have been playing Virtue's Last Reward on it. Love going back and forth from my Vita to my 50". I know this little box can't do everything, but I love what it can do.

Thinking of picking up one of these, specifically for the chance to play Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max with some friends.
Has anyone been able to use two dualshock 3's simultaneously for local play through the ps tv? I know on PSP/Vita that Alpha 3 Max supported ad hoc connections..

I warn you, apparently on the PS TV, SFA3 Max has some strange input delay.

I think it has to do with the fact it's upscaling the PSP native res game into a HD resolution thus the scaling involved creates slight timing issues in moves coming out.

For reference, I can play SFA Anthology on a dualshock 3 on an original fat PS3 and there is no apparent input delay, all moves I want to execute come out properly, however using the same dualshock 3 on a PS TV via the PSP Alpha 3 Max, it doesn't seem as precise.

Something strange is going on when the Vita TV scales PSP games to 720p.

It's definitely not my TV at fault either because even on Gaming mode, I can play timing sensitive games such as Gradius V or, Danmaku Unlimited 2 and Ikaruga (via Steam) with no issues.

So those buying PSP games that require decent input or precise timing (The Gradius Collection if it was compatible with the Vita TV would be a fine example too) be careful of this.

The apparent input lag in SFA3 Max on a PS TV makes it almost unplayable.

Gaf, please help! I am having issues getting the party chat app to work with PS TV while using PS4 remote play. I understand the PS TV only supports bluetooth headsets and the one I have works great until you launch remote play. Has anybody found a fix or a workaround to get party chat to run while using remote play?

This guys seems to have it working. And there are comments from people saying they got it to work with PSTV

Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth headset that works in party chat?

Would love to hear people bitch and moan on ps4 while I have a relaxing game of disgaea 4 :)

That's strange. I also just got a PlayStation TV recently. After reading your post, I tried SFA3 Max on the PSTV about an hour ago for the first time. I fired it up with a bit of trepidation, since this was one of the PSP games that I was looking forward to playing on the machine.

Truthfully, I did not observe any input lag. If there was any lag present, then it must have been negligible, and certainly not enough to hinder my enjoyment of the game.

On the contrary, when playing the PS2 version of Street Fighter Alpha Anthology on a PS3 (original 60 GB model), I recall experiencing a little lag there. It's not severe enough to be "unplayable", but it is noticeable enough that I have to make some adjustments to the way I play.

If you asked me to choose between the two, I'd say SFA3 Max on PSTV seems more responsive by comparison. This is using the same TV, with the same settings (720p, game mode enabled), and the same Dual Shock 3 controller on both systems.

This for me as well. I would like a full headset with stereo rather than just a chat headset. Any advice? Not going to buy the astro a38s.

So Best Buy has the bundle for PSTV priced at $100 (and the core unit for $80) so I picked up the bundle. I was able to sell the spare controller for $25 alone at a second hand store near me, so that was pretty awesome.

Along with the PSTV, I went to gamestop and grabbed Senran Kegura Shinovi Versus: Let's get physical edition, and Dangaronpa Trigger Happy Havoc (of course it sucks because even though it was a "new" copy, they didn't have the original box at gamestop...they gave me 20% off at least though)

Just going to make do with the 8gb stick in the unit for now. I've built up a digital library for the Vita for some time just taking advantage of sale prices, so I already got some games like Persona 4 Golden, Muramasa, Need for Speed MW, Sly 4, and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate just to name a few. I also got a few PSP games in my library already as well like all the Persona games.

I've got about $15 in my PSN account, and I'm looking to just add something to my Vita library, whether it's a small downloadable game, or an old great PSP game I might have over looked. Not really looking to spend more than the $15, but I might got to $20. Anyone have any good suggestions? One game I've been kinda eyeballing is that Rock Boshers that's $7.

Riviera the promised land.

Does Suikoden I and II work on PSTV?

I don't really plan to use my PSTV for PS1 games because I got my PS3 for that, but I downloaded Suikoden 1 on my PSTV to test this out for you, and it looks like Suikoden 1 works no problem.

I don't have Suikoden 2 yet to test it, but it's probably a safe bet that it does...

If I've got vita games downloaded on my PS3 because of PS plus and the free games offered, is there a way to move them to my playstation tv without a vita?

You can use content manager to transfer them either via Wifi or a usb connection cord.

Hmmm sounds like it's not possible than. I was afraid this would be the case.

It is possible. But you need to do it through Wifi. It's just that the USB way you did it on Vita doesn't work. You need to have the PS3 you are using connected to Wifi network. Here's some info from sony. It took me a while to get it sorted out, but you can transfer data from PS3 to PS TV....

http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/pstv/cm/index.html

That's hilariously sad. I honestly expected it could do that since it had a usb port but i guess i was wrong about it. Thanks for sharing that though.

It's a host port, not a peripheral port. Communication with a PC isn't really possible per the USB spec, so it's not like Sony explicitly locked that behavior or anything.

Guys, i got some questions.

Do all PS1 games work on this?

Can i use a dual shock 4?

Will Resogun, Oddworld new n tasty work on this?

Thanks.

Every PS1 game I own seems to work. A couple you might have to transfer via PS3, such as I believe MGS 1. But the majority of games seem to work just fine.

Dualshock 4 works great. You can even map the analog to act like the D-pad to be able to use analog control in games that don't normally support. ie: Xenogears, FF VII, Wild Arms 2, and others.

I don't know about the 3rd question.

I built up a small library for my PS TV

Persona 4 Golden, Muramasa Rebirth, Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisted, and Soul Sacrifice Delta.

I also own Dissidia 012 duocecim, and SFA3 Max.

I'm quite impressed with this little device.

Still I think Persona 4 Golden pretty much made up for the whole thing. Definitely the shining jewel of my Vita library.

Although I wonder if the Muramasa DLC is worth it. Are they single missions or do the extra characters quests comparable to the length of Momohime and Kisuke's quests? Well I'll buy it eventually and find out.

Currently in September in P4G, so I'm near the end of the game I guess. I'll definitely be doing a NG+ run, and as for Disgaea 4, well that will be a challenge in itself as I'm the sort that tries to get all of my guys to level 9999 with the best possible gear, so that's at least a 200+ hour investment.

I'm not sure if I like Soul Sacrifice Delta yet. I'm not sure if I like the picking chapters in a book approach rather just being able to wander a interconnected map like Monster Hunter and be allowed to do whatever you want, rather then just picking missions on a book page and doing what you need to do.

I think I may pick this up tomorrow.

How is the remote play? (yes I plan to read through this thread). If it is really good, I may pick up two PSTV's.

I have my PS4 in the office hooked up via ethernet.

Living room has PS3 and Xbox one, wired via Range Extender. This is where the PSTV will go, hooked up via ethernet through range extender.

If it works really well, I'll get another PSTV for the bedroom to run wirelessly.

I wouldn't mind playing Destiny and a few other online games on it, but I primarily want it for the single player games.

I have a 32gb card from my Vita, I'll have to get something smaller to replace my vita's card.

Can someone link me a cheap place to import Danganronpa from the US?

Quite disappointed I can't play the EU version because it's incompatible =.=

sorry if this has been mentioned already on a previous page, has there been any firmware updates since the device came out to add netflix and hulu? amazon video?

what memory card size are you guys using with your VitaTV?

I use a 16, it's acceptable, but admittedly I have a Vita with a 32 and half my recent purchases have been carts (which I almost regret but pretty cases/limited editions/discounts). I definitely cannot recommend buying lower than a 16, but a 64 isn't a requirement either. You'll want to use Content Manager too, I have >70GB of Vita games backed up on my PC.

If you're using the 8 GB that came with the Vita TV, may want to upgrade though. 32GB is a nice balance between size and price, but 16 GB ones seem to go on sale more often. 64GB is of course ideal size-wise but never has significant sales as it's import-only. Readily available but pricy.

They don't a large chunk of the games do not have that sticker. Has anyone tried said games recently (last few weeks)?

I'll try to remember to check both tonight, but I got Neptunia PP like 2 weeks ago and it refused to work. IFI was wish-washy to the point I assume Rebirth 1 will never be TV compatible (I don't think they even promised to TRY)

Really debating buying this from amazon, but not sure if its worth it.

Have ps4 in the living room and want it for the master bedroom that isnt too far away. Would be over wifi.

I always "buy" the free games for vita ps3 ps4 ect on playstation plus just incase.

Would I be able to play them all on the pstv with a dualshock 4? Hows the streaming? and one last question, does the ps4 in my living room need to be on, or can it be in rest mode ect?
