Sturridge on his own up front frees up room for us to pick enough players from the pool of players I actually like, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling, Markovic. Also gets Sakho, Moreno and Can into the team, and in positions that they seem adept in.

Means we struggle to get Henderson into the middle though, but that won't be a problem as Gerrard is rested, and eventually leaves. Unfortunately don't see a spot for Flanagan in thsi setup.

Still can't decide what I want to happen with Sterling. His best position is also Coutinho's best position, but I definitely want both of them on the pitch whenever possible. I'm not a huge fan of playing Sterling in a winger role on either side though. Inside forward maybe.


The more we use it, the clearer it becomes to me that its not 4-3-3

The striker never changes position with anyone else, and the other attacker are positioned a fair distance behind him, so its a 3-4-2-1 imo

Obviously that's massively nitpicking and unimportant though
