Wii Titles (SMG2, Metroid Prime trilogy and Punch Out!) Announced for Wii U eShop

Not sure what that accomplishes.

it lets him/her sit around and never buy virtual console games while nintendo begs and pleads him/her to change his/her mind.

or it accomplishes nothing because they have no idea what this person is doing and just assumes they don't care about the eshop.

Didn't see it posted yet, here are the other titles shown in the EU Direct:

I NEED SIN AND PUNISHMENT IN NA

Everything stupid NOA does, they occasionally do something right. So glad people will be able to play Metroid Prime Trilogy now.

No... 3DS plays GBA games identically to how the Wii U plays Wii games... by locking down hardware. Not emulation. 3DS IS based on the same hardware as the GBA (3DS uses an ARM11 which is 100% hardware compatible with the ARM9 ((DS)) and ARM7 ((GBA)))

Ok, then.

Wow I was just looking at eBay/Amazon/GAF for cheap Wii games to rebuild my collection that I had, thank god I only bought two games and they were both cheap (Sin and Punishment 2 for $8, Galaxy 1 for $10).

Definitely copping Galaxy 2, hanging on to my actual copies of Trilogy and Donkey Kong though. Thank God Nintendo is catching up to demand finally.

Finally get to play Metroid Prime Trilogy. I tried looking for this game a while back and couldn't find a copy for a reasonable price...

Some people are dismissing these great game because they weren't upscaled/remastered? K. I'm going to play them again and enjoy them.

I think it just means they enjoy it more than you because they'd rather see the game's visuals done justice.

What's the best place to get Wii U nunchuks for these?

I know nothing of those in terms of price/quality/etc.

There's no distinction between Wii U/Wii Remotes other than packaging branding, they function identically between both platforms.

1.6 gbs? Well then. My dreams have been thoroughly crushed.

- No SMG (Wanted to play them in order)
- No Gamepad/ Pro Controller support
- I own a 8gb Wii U

Such sadness

I bought a wii-mote/nunchuck directly from Nintendo's store.

They tend to sell refurbished (practically new) controllers through their store.

Amazon/Ebay are best bets if all you need are the chucks.

Well screw this crap.

All I wanted was Metroid Prime trilogy and SMG games with 1080p/60fps.

If they can't do the simplest fucking thing like uprezing the resolution to HD then Nintendo just absolutely deserves to not get my business and deserves to get destroyed by Microsoft and Sony.

Looks like I won't be joining the WiiU crowd. I was ready to bust out the credit card and purchase one.

With your attitude, you wont be missed.

Nobody wants Punch Out except me? ):

Also if someone that already downloaded SMG2, is there any improvement at all in there?
We need Pandora's Tower in NA!

Just bought mpt 2 days ago. Damn! Well I'll sell the disc version then

Also: are they getting rid of the black borders at 480p ? If yes I'll buy both of them. If I can port my save game from vwii to wiiu I'll buy them even harder

E9.99 for Metroid Prime Trilogy is one of the best offers I have ever seen in gaming. That's around 120 hours of content, up to 180 if going for 100% completion, of a game that I would consider perhaps my favourite of all time (Metroid Prime) and two sequels which are stunning and certainly amongst the strongest games of their respective generations; all with a genuinely fantastic control set-up that makes it the best controlling FPS I've ever played and one of the very few titles I've appreciated the Wiimote in. It's genuinely a surreal deal, I can't quite believe Nintendo is offering it. If you have a Wii U, E9.99, and haven't played even one of the Trilogy before, I cannot recommend you take up that offer strongly enough.

I own Punch-Out and MPT already, but I've been waiting to find Galaxy 2 at a cheaper price (cheapest I've seen it was $40, ehh). If it's half price, I'm jumping on that.

Now let's get some Radiant Dawn love on there.

Looking forward to some impressions. Not gonna get any of these first three games (since I already own all of them), but I'm interested in Kirby's Adventure, that game's not cheap these days.

SMG2 is up on the EU eShop. Can someone confirm what it has/doesn't have in terms of features? I'm really tempted to buy it, since I have SMG1 on disc but I could never find an affordable copy of SMG2.

Great idea in part of Nintendo, especially since they run natively on Wii hardware inside the Wii U (albeit it does mean it will obviously also be at its original resolution) meaning no wasted resources in porting the games. Too bad it's SMG2 instead of SMG1 though.

I didn't really play too many of Nintendo's Wii titles so this is cool with me. I'll be picking up SMG2 and Metroid based on what was shown for the US so far.

Everybody who made the horrible life mistake of not playing Punch Out Wii needs to rectify that ASAP.

Apparently people thought/think you play with waggle controls when, while that is an option, isn't even the default. You play NES style. PLAY PUNCH OUT WII.
